I absolutely love the WinX Club mangas. They're full-color, but even in B&W on my eReader, they look amazing. ----------- This volume was more enjoyable than the last one was, since I really enjoyed both stories. We start with the mayor having a master spellcaster cast a weather spell on Magix to make it cold and snowy. His big plan to freeze over the river to have an Olympic Skating-type competition called Magicx on Ice. The competition goes really well, but ends up pitting Flora and Stella against one another. In the end, Flora wins, but only through the wonderful friendship and teamwork that the WinX Club share. The WinX Club also help the administrators of the school shut down the weather spell after the competition is over. They realize that the mayor had good intentions--however twisted they were--but that this could not be the way Magix was to stay. ------ In the second story, a professor from the future lands in Magix in what he considers the past. But, his time machine is broken....and, it's up to the WinX Club to fix it in time for him to return to his time in the future.
Can they complete it in time...or will this end in disaster?
Leave it up to The Trix to be the fly in the ointment. Anything the WinX are doing, they must keep from happening. This time around, it lands two of them in the future. But, the machine still works. And, luckily, the professor does eventually get everyone back to their correct time periods. And, the WinX Club girls bring back wonderful new downloaded friends with them. ------------------- This volume was provided to me by VIZ Media, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
I enjoyed being able to read Winx Club in a manga/comic book format. However, as an avid follower of the television series and book series, I did find several discrepancies within the storyline of this series. There were several details within this story that were quite different in comparison to the original television series, and I found that to be quite annoying while reading. Overall, I felt that they did a great job with the illustrations and storyline (in general) and I look forward to any new editions that may come out in the future.
