المجتمع الياباني في عصر مايجي

تعرضت بلاد الشرق لضغوط الغرب فى النصف الأول من القرن التاسع عشر، وإختارت اليابان أن تتصدى لتلك الضغوط بطريقة إستخدام البرابره فى مواجهة البرابره، حيث إستفادت من علوم الغرب وثقافته فى صياغة سياسة رمت إلى بناء دولة حديثة على درجة عالية من القوة تمكنها من الوقوف مع الغرب على قدم المساواة.

وكان عصر مايجى تعبيرا عن الطريق الذى إختارته اليابان بفضل قيادتها السياسية التى إنتهجت سبل الإصلاح ونجحت فى تطبيقه وإتخذته آداه لمواجهة التحدى الغربى.

ويروج بعض الكتاب اليابانيين -والعرب أيضا- لإمكانية إستفادة بلاد العالم الثالث التى تتلمس طريقها إلى التحديث من تجربة اليابان فى عصى مايجى، ولكن هذا القول ينطوى على مبالغة شديدة، فالتجربة اليابانية إتخذت مساراً فريداً يجعلها نموذجاً لا يمكن أن يتكرر نمطياً لعدة عوامل منها أن اليابان تمكنت من تطوير السوق الوطنية الخاصة بها فى أواخلر عصر طوكوجاوا بالقدر الذى يسر سبل الإنتقال إلى المرحلة الرأسمالية، على حين كانت بلاد العالم الثالث مستعمرة أو شيه مستعمرة.

وتمكنت اليابان فى ظروف تاريخية خاصة من أن تتحول إلى قوة إمبريالية وإستطاعت أن تحقق نمواً سريعاً بفضل ما نهبته من ثروات البلاد الأسيوية التى رزحت تحت سيطرتها مثل كوريا والصين.
