Like a roller coaster ride in the dark, Guilty by Association is a fast-paced psychological thriller set in the small town of Spring Creek, West Virginia. But the quiet Southern town is not what it seems. The Japanese mafia, known as the Yakuza, has brought their business to the United States in the most unlikely location. The members of the police department in Spring Creek took an oath to protect, to serve, and to uphold the law to the best of their ability—but they also provide protection for Yoshiro Sato to traffic narcotics into one of America’s most remote regions. When one conscientious young officer is murdered for fear that he may reveal their secret, Lisa Taylor is the sole witness to the crime. Lisa, Ryan Clark, and those around them are drawn into a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse that could ultimately cost them their lives. They can trust each other and no one else. They are Guilty by Association.

This is a thrilling debut novel by a good high school friend of mine. it's characters are very well-written and I promise there will be one (or a few!) that you will relate to. If you like mystery and suspense I highly recommend this one.
