This is such a mixed bag. This collection contains a multitude of short stories and poems - some I clicked with, others not so much. Poe is at his best exploring new themes and developing atmosphere, but his writing can be indulgent with run-on sentences. There also are a lot in here that tackle the same themes over and over again, making it repetitive.
Still, there are some GREAT ones in here:
Stories
- Morella, Ligeia, House of Usher, William Wilson, Eiros and Charmion, Masque of Red Death, Tell Tale Heart
Poems
- To Science, City in the Sea, Lenore, The Raven, The Bells, For Annie, Annabel Lee
