Sexy Cheri believes she controls her relationships with the wealthy men in her life. They’ll do anything for her, shower her with money and gifts. Call the shots.
Until the night a powerful and determined man captures her and tosses her helplessly bound body into the back of his pickup. Cheri becomes Carnal Incorporated’s latest acquisition, a sex slave in training. Overwhelmed, restrained, naked, and whipped, she exists in a world dominated by pain, fear, and forced pleasure.
Cameras follow her every move as her captor introduces her to her new existence. This is his career—a most pleasurable task with sex and a hefty paycheck as the ultimate rewards.
Lesson by lesson, Cheri’s perception of herself changes
Under her "real" name, Vonna Harper has published more fiction than she can keep track of . These include category romances for the major players as well as the 'juicy' stuff. She also penned a series of well-received Native American historicals. One earned her finalist status in both the Women Writing the West Willa award and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association. Before discovering romances, both erotic and otherwise, Vonna 'confessed' all kinds of nonsense for the confession magazines.
When asked about erotica research, she insists, "Of course I've time-traveled to the ancient Everglades, infiltrated bondage strongholds, done wilderness search and rescue, and spent a night trapped in a workout gym with Mr. Universe. How can I possibly write about something I haven't experienced?"
As for day jobs, "I've been a commercial pilot, brain surgeon, worked as a white-water river guide, bee keeper, snake charmer, and garbage collector."
3.5 stars. A main character who gets her just desserts draws this one further than the first one in the "series". They aren't a series per se, more about the world of Carnal Incorporated which is a business that kidnaps and abducts women (have not seen males being abducted yet) and breaks/trains them to be sex slaves. So human trafficking.
The story of bad girl gets what is coming to her - to a point - means you don't resonate as much with the woman in this one. It makes it more palatable and, dare I say, even a bit poetic. Same type as torture as the other 2 books - rape, orgasm denial, forced orgasm, impact play (whips/canes/crops/etc). It doesn't pull any punches but shy's away from long lasting damage. Although I didn't relate as much to the woman in this one - sympathy yes (after all what a terrible fate) but not on the same level as the others. I think I rather more enjoyed Reno's head thoughts since now we've seen him in 3 books. This one does not hit the wishywashy bad guy piece that comes up most strongly in Carnal Captive.
Of course, goes without saying, not for the feint at heart yadda yadda.
The FMC, Cheri, works in a bar and is dating 3 different men. She's kidnapped by a man named Reno, who works for Carnal Incorporated. He's been hired by an unknown party she appears to have wronged. Reno's job is to train her on how to become a pleasure toy and begins non-consensual tortuous lessons. This story was not one about willing submission. I've read a lot of BDSM and did not care for this story or how it ended. I never got the impression that Cheri enjoyed any of her time with Reno, and when she was handed over to who had hired Reno, she didn't seem happy about that either. It was a short read and I finished it because I wanted to know who hired Reno, but the story felt unfinished and left me unfulfilled.
Although compelling, I’m just not sure how I feel about this book. First of all, let me say that it is very well written. Intense in every way, my stomach fell and I was covered in a cold sweat a number of times as Cheri went through her lessons. Although I enjoy books about the BDSM lifestyle and the master/slave dynamic, both participants are usually in agreement and the “play” is consensual. When the final revelation came, I was left with a sinking feeling that unsettled me long after I was finished the story. So, yes I like dark stories, but this was deeply disturbing, with no happy end in sight.
4½☆ This was a very good, enjoyable read and surprisingly accurate. Reno was good at his job and had a good subject to work with. Under the circumstances and time restraint I think he chose the best method albeit not the one I'd wish for. I'd have enjoyed an equal focus on the psychological aspect. The little bit mentioned was a bit meh and scarcely skimmed the surface
Cheri has been a very bad girl and Reno swoops in to teach her a lesson. i liked that he and Damek were working separate "cases" this time, the connection to her Master seemed a lot more personal. Personally, i just wish there would have been more story on how the men met and came to the conclusion that this is what she needed.
