Tiny Confessions: The Secret Thoughts of Dogs, Cats and Everything

Rate this book
Ever wonder what your dachshund, bulldog, great dane, or tabby cat are *really* thinking? Wonder no more, because artist and comedian Christopher Rozzi has channeled the innermost thoughts of canines and felines (along with the occasional rabbit or robot) and painted their portraits with great affection and humor.

Garnering attention and raves from Flavorwire, Laughing Squid, Fab.com, and elsewhere, Tiny Confessions has attracted a growing fan base among pet lovers, art lovers, and anyone with a good sense of humor.

In this endearing and very funny collection of color portraits, candid pets will reveal insights

"What you see as dancing is just me desperately scrambling to earn ham."

"That mess I made is my way of thanking you for my awesome name."

"I forgot where I buried that thing that you loved."

Yeah, yeah, we all know pets are essentially eating/pooping machines, but we've always suspected that there's something brewing deep beneath all that fur: rational thought, jealousy, altruism, plans to take over the world...

This book is really nothing more than a collection of cute paintings with captions and it takes about five minutes to read, but undoubtedly, anyone who has ever loved an animal will recognize that glint of intelligence in a pet's eye and know indeed that the clever quips featured on these pages are the truth, plain and simple.

This book did make me curious about what my own dog may be thinking.

Here are Randy's true confessions...

Everyday, it's "Randy, get the paper!" Newsprint tastes like crap. And not the good kind of crap that you roll in.

Why does Her gather up my poop in a baggie? I'm trying to get rid of that shit and she keeps bringing it home with us.

I received this book through a Goodreads first-reads giveaway. Very cute coffee table book. It has darling sayings with great pics of dogs, cats, Frankenstein and everything inbetween. I was laughing out loud while reading and wish there were more books like this to read when you need a good laugh. Thoroughly enjoyed the humor in this cute, little book! It can be enjoyed by the young, old, and middleaged equally and brings out the carefree humor of youth.

Loved this book! It is really just a picture book with captions, but pet owners will love it and surely recognize their own "children" in the pages. I know I did! The attitudes and quotes were spot on!

What a fresh breath of air, told from our animals (and assorted other "people"). I can actually see my dog giving me at least 3/4 of this information. Precious!

I thought this book was rather cute. It was light, short and takes you "away," even if it is just for a moment.

It is adorable and silly. Not much else to say. I may rip out the pages and frame them for the bathroom but not much of a coffee table book.

Received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

This book is simple and quick. It's a cute book that did have me giggling out loud a few times. And the artwork is pretty neat. A friend had given this to me to make me smile - it definitely did the trick.

This book was as awesome as I had always dreamed it would be. I've been following the tiny confessions on the internet for years and only now has someone been brave enough to go out and buy the book without also coming back with cute art prints, buttons, t-shirts and whatever. That person, of course, was my mother. She has will power. She can stand up to wit and cuteness like no other!!! She can buy only one thing!!! (I cannot)
This book was literally 88 pages of awesome adorableness. Often I was like wait a minute-is this guy actually quoting my actual real life dog. Meanwhile Dexter my ever silent and disdainful basset hound would be sitting next to me like why is she laughing at that book again and why does she keep looking at me. Dexter, I'm sure, has many confessions of his own along with the ones he can already relate to in the book. Especially the quote that goes so nicely with the portrait of a basset giving the stink eye directly to the reader. That one says "Inside, I am rampant with emotion." You may not know this but the stink eye look is a key weapon in the basset arsenal often used to get what they want, to show disgust or complete lack of caring or that they simply cannot be bargained with and you must do it their way. It often works very well as do almost all of their methods of manipulation. This is just one of the few wonders captured in this book.
I highly recommend it to not only pet owners but all humans on earth who would like real life insight into the minds of the animals among us (and a few monsters and robots!) Thank you Christopher Rozzi for creating this book. It made my Christmas worth celebrating!

ARC copy

I won this book and have spent a fee weeks reading it and re-reading it.
It is a humorous and relaxed read. The insight into the minds of other animals is hilarious and the illustrations are amazing too!

This is a book that I will have on my book shelf forever and re-read over and over again.

When looking for a short and humorous read, this book is for you.

A charming concept, but the execution is wholly underwhelming, and half of the images unsatisfactory.

The humor will captivate aging hipsters who have lost touch with all that is sacred in the Art of Meme.

Two redeeming elements: The conch shell, and the last page. I won't spoil it.

Buy this title from Powell's Books.
