I really liked this book. It was action packed. I love Isabel and Trevor together. I also really enjoyed the plot. I think the only thing I didn't like was D and Noelle sleeping together. I get her and Jim are not together. I get he did something to hurt her but it's just weird that D has had sex with her!

RATING: 4.5 Trev and Iz Hearts!!!! =D <3 (I'm rounding up cause this is is my fav of the series! :P)

Midnight Games finally draws back the curtains on one of the few highly anticipated couples of this series, Isabel and Trevor. We have watched these two dance around one another through the previous two books, our desire to see them together at an all-time high by the time we get the sum of their story. The two of them don’t disappoint, the tension between them fueling our own, hearts clattering as their feelings for one another are continuously halted by Isabel’s insecurities, and us incessantly wishing for a crystal ball to show their future but finding no such quick relief. Iz and Trev make us wait with bated breath before declaring their “I love you”s, their journey glorifying in its execution as they enmesh themselves in yet another suspenseful mission.

Although not a contract assassin rather her abilities far more adept in games of deception, Iz is no less lethal than her fellow Chameleons, taking on dangerous missions one disguise after another. As quickly as she dons her guises though, she just as quickly reigns in her emotions regarding Trevor, the fears of her past seizing hold, and acting as a silencer to her reciprocation. Despite her moments of self-doubt, she is still full of fight and vigor, giving as good as she gets – as does Trevor – to ensure a fan-based audience in us.

“Why were his emotions so much more heightened in her presence? Passion became raw lust. Anger became red-hot fury. Peace became bone-numbing serenity.”

Trevor, despite losing his fiancée and learning to move past his grief, and then being deserted by Isabel at the end of the last book, is determined to make her realize that their love for one another trumps all fears and doubts, doing an impressive job of portraying his feelings without being cliché or cheesy. When it comes time to confront the past, he does so rationally rather than emotionally, understanding Isabel’s hesitations and helping her work through her emotions. When they both are, finally, on equal emotive footing, they both work to make sure their relationship lasts, and the two of them are even more magnificently fun, sexy, and tenderly riddled with vulnerabilities as the couples before them.

“I don’t do half-ass relationships, Isabel. Once I’m in, I’m in one hundred percent.” He gripped her chin and forced eye contact, holding her prisoner with his intense gaze. “Give me a hundred precent in return, sweetheart.”

Overall, Midnight Games is another paradigm of Elle Kennedy’s superb ability to balance the romance and suspense in this series, giving us the danger, action and twists of our heroes’ pursuits, but also giving us the scorching passion between our main couple, along with perplexing happenings of secondary characters, Jim, Noelle and D. While our time with Trev and Iz is thoroughly enjoyable, and worth the wait, we can’t help but be excited for more of Jim’s mercenaries and Noelle’s Chameleons with Ethan and Juliet’s story next.

In Midnight Games we finally get Trevor and Isabel’s romance which has been brewing since the first book in the Killer Instincts series. They first met when Jim’s crew of mercenaries and Noelle’s assassins banded together for a mission.

At the time Trevor is still a shell of the man he used to be, still grieving over the death of his fiancée, Gina. Isabel and Trevor had to pose as a newlywed couple, totally in love and over-the-top affectionate, and Trevor is surprised to feel an attraction to Isabel, thinking he’d never feel those feelings again. It’s an unhappy discovery, one that unsettles him and fills him with guilt. Isabel feels terrible for Trevor, a man whose zest for life seems to have been extinguished, but she does feel glimpses of heat and passion beyond their disguise. When they part ways, it’s not a happy situation because Trevor is not in a good mind space and behaves like an ass.

They’re paired together again in the next book, and Trevor’s feelings have changed significantly. Even though he’ll never forget his departed fiancée, he’s found the desire to live and be happy again, and he’d like to do that with Isabel at his side. Unfortunately, Isabel leaves him high and dry at her apartment and disappears without a word.

Trevor and Isabel have had stops and starts to their romance, but in Midnight Games, Trevor is determined to track Isabel down and get serious. She’s the one and only woman he can’t stop thinking about. But these two will have to sort out their relationship in between dodging attempts on their life when Morgan’s compound is attacked and Morgan himself goes missing.

Isabel and Trevor’s romance light up the pages and make for a super hot read! There’s a history between this couple and I loved witnessing all the tender moments exchanged. They’ve let each other in and got close in a way no other has in the past, so I was seriously excited for them to finally come together! I have to say, it was worth the wait. Trevor and Isabel’s romance ties with Jim and Noelle’s (Midnight Action book 5), as my favorites so far.

Midnight Games
will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the twists, action, and danger at every turn. Fans of romantic suspense will gobble up Elle Kennedy’s addictive and thrilling Killer Instincts series! On that note, I’m off to read the next book, Killer Pursuits, Ethan and Juliet’s romance.

Isabel and Trevor!! They have been the feature of an ongoing parallel storyline in this series and I was so excited to see them finally as the focal couple. In addition to watching their friendship flourish into a romance, their working relationship remains front and center. There's action, suspense, emotion, alter egos, and a significant twist that was pretty clever and certainly unexpected. Midnight Games is my favorite of the Killer Instincts series to date. Check it out!

My favorite quote:
“Never in her wildest dreams would she have pegged this man as a dirty talker. Just went to show that you should never underestimate the quiet ones - and never let your guard down around them either.”

Exciting installment featuring Isabel and Trevor who have been tap dancing around each other during the last two Ops. (My favorite couple so far) This one opens with mass chaos featuring an attack, murder, and a missing operative. It was chilling and I felt like I was right there in the middle of it. Morgan's crew gets surprising assistance from Noelle with a few of her assassins. She is hilarious and mysterious and helps to make this one entertaining read. There are many twists and turns with many unanswered questions, that I cannot wait to find out the answers to in future books. Great book and great series -5 stars.

AHHHHHHHHHH!!! Finally! FREAKING finally!! I have been waiting for Trevor and Isabel's story for what seems like forever (not really. It was only 2 books), so you can imagine my excitement going into Midnight Games. Midnight Games wound up being my favorite book in the series so far. When the series first started, Trevor was so sheltered and isolated from everyone else, suffering through the pain and sorrow of his fiancee, Gina's death. I hated seeing him so tortured and wanted him to find that happiness again. In book two, we begin to see him open up a little more and by the end he was definitely a changed man. In Midnight Games, he had finally come to terms with Gina's death and was ready to move on. Along his side, was the feisty chameleon, Isabel. Isabel had grown up in a mob family and had encountered death too many times than a person should ever. While undoubtedly kickass, brave and confident, on the inside she was fragile and was dealing with an overwhelming amount of guilt. Throughout this book, we watch as she too finally grew with Trevor showing her how to by her side. Their romance was sweet and hot at the same time, a combo that made for some intense and passionate chemistry between the two of them. I couldn't get enough of them and I loved how they were a couple who pushed each other to talk about their fears. The plot in Midnight Games was also a lot more entertaining for me than the rest of the books. We aren't told who exactly the killer was, which made for some very suspenseful scenes that also had my heart racing. Elle Kennedy wasn't afraid to kill off some of my favorite characters and I was on the verge of tears when a beloved character died. Interesting revelations about Jim, Noelle and D were also made and I have to say, I'm very intrigued by D's character now and want to know what exactly his deal is. Too bad I have to wait until February 2016 to get his book! At least I have Jim and Noelle's book and the rest of the books to keep me company until then. Bring on all the books, Elle Kennedy!

I gave this audiobook an A for the narration and A- for the story at AudioGals.

Lovers of action-packed, suspense-filled romances will not want to miss Midnight Games by Elle Kennedy. In fact, I’m hooked as I not only loved the main characters but also many of the secondary characters which feature in adventure romances of their own later in this series that already has seven released titles (Midnight Games being only the third book). Adding further allure to this hit audiobook is my new top-favorite narration by Allyson Ryan.

Although this is the third book in the series, if you haven’t yet experienced any of the Killer Instincts series before, don’t worry. This was my first Killer Instincts title and, while I definitely got the sense that a number of the characters had been previously introduced, I had no trouble following the suspense or romantic arcs.

Finally, Izzy and Trevor's book!

My progress:-

19% I don't remember Kane being this hilarious in book #1 before.

28% This is getting dirty and twisted, I love it.

34% God, is Izzy only stringing Trev along? She is hot and cold the whole time it's killing me.

78% I am too scared to read, getting so intense.

100% I loved it!

An all cast story where all characters were included so it's advisable to read book #1 and #2 beforehand. There were many characters so reading those books beforehand might get you lost-free.

I loved this. Loved the twisted plot which kept me on edge through out the whole story. The prospects for future stories are mind boggling.

I need the next book to be about Noelle. I wonder what goes on in that scary crazy woman's head sometimes.

Isabel Roma, master of disguise, is an ex-Fed now working for an elite operative team. She excels at being other people and created a façade to keep people out in order to protect herself. She’s a compassionate and kind-hearted woman but, underneath the easygoing façade, she is a broken and vulnerable woman. She's running from a past that continues to haunt her every day. She has severe daddy issues that run deep. Her father is a mafia monster that exposed her to a lot of bad things. She couldn’t just run away from it, so instead she became someone else. Her charade worked until she met Trevor Callaghan during an operation where they worked undercover together. A powerful connection forms between them but, because they got too close, she got scared and ran. Five months later, she decides to seek out Trevor because she knows she owes him an explanation.

Trevor Callaghan was a broken and reckless man for two years after he lost his fiancée. Meeting Isabel changed him. He never thought he could feel anything for another woman again. Isabel hurt him when she ran but he wasn’t going to let her go that easily. So, for five months, he searched for her, determined to get to know Isabel, the real Isabel, and make her his. He finally has his opportunity when Isabel shows up at his team’s compound.

Before they get a chance to talk things out, the compound is attacked and destroyed. When they lose contact with Jim Morgan, Trevor’s boss, they turn to Isabel’s mercurial boss for help. The team is taken to Noelle’s compound where they start to plan and organize to find out who is behind the attack and who possibly kidnapped Morgan. The mission goes into effect and Isabel needs to go undercover as one of her personas to get information from a dangerous man they suspect is behind the hit. Trevor has a tough time letting Isabel do her job and almost blows Isabel’s cover when his protective instincts and jealousy comes roaring to the surface. Trevor must find a way to let go of his instincts to protect Isabel from danger and let her do her job before he blows the mission. The deeper they get into the operation, the more dangerous it becomes for Isabel and Trevor. They must risk their lives to get to the root of the twisted truth behind the attack.

As the stakes are raised, and the operation heats up, so does the relationship between Trevor and Isabel. Trevor is a bad ass mercenary who is also honorable, sweet, and very protective. He made my heart melt with his sweet words and smoldering touches. Trevor doesn’t make it easy for Isabel to hide from him. He relentlessly pulls her out of her shell. He’s not perfect in his pursuit to make Isabel his however. He makes a lot of mistakes but he quickly owns up to them. Isabel doesn’t exactly make things easy on Trevor though. She continues to hold back from opening up to him. But, as they grow closer, her walls start to crumble and she slowly starts to let Trevor get to know the real Isabel. This couple fit each other so well. I loved to see them let down their guard and get hot and heavy in the bedroom.

Midnight Games is the third book in the Killer Instincts series. I haven’t read the first two books in this series and I never felt lost in the story. This can read as a stand-alone. I do know that the relationship between Trevor and Isabel started in the second book. So, I may have missed out on the chemistry that brought them together when they first met. That didn’t really bother me too much. Now, while I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything, I could tell that there are layers upon layers to this story that flows from one book to the next. This book continues to build the storyline for the next book and I’m thinking it could be the ex-thief, Juliet, and the rookie, Ethan’s book – but that’s just a guess. What I’m really interested in is finding out more about the other secondary characters: Noelle, Jim, and D. They stole the show from Trevor and Isabel. There is history between those three that has spiked my curiosity. But who I’m most curious about is D… I want to know so much more about this mysterious, intense man that comes across as an asshole. I love assholes.

I really enjoyed this story that has a Mission Impossible tone to it. There is great mix of mystery, suspense, emotion, intrigue, and action that kept me enthralled. The romance is hot, but not as hot as it could’ve been. I wanted more sexy times with them. (I’m such a hussy.) I will admit to being more interested in reading the secondary characters parts in the story than the main characters. Trevor and Isabel may have been a little too sweet when I wanted a little more edginess with them. Now that I’ve read this story, my interest has been piqued enough to continue with the series. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Timing is everything in love. I have been waiting for Trevor Callaghan and Isabel Roma to get on the same page and finally in this book 3, the stars align for Trevor and Isabel. The narrator Allyson Ryan really delivers as her voice really gave the characters intensity.

When we met Trevor in book 1, he had just lost his fiancée Gina while on assignment and her death caused him to give up on life. Isabel saved him a couple of times when his recklessness almost granted him his death wish. But by book 2, it was Isabel who was running from the intensity of their new attraction. In this book 3, a threat on Trevor's compound, as well as his missing boss Jim Morgan, puts Trevor and Isabel working on the same team again. This time, they are forced to deal with their pasts and also their current situation.

The writing was full of both emotional and sexual tension. Trevor has gone through his stages of grief and now he is ready to move forward. Isabel still bears the tethers of her past, running and hiding has been her coping mechanism for so long that she instinctively pulls away from intense emotions. I love the patience that Trevor radiates because it reminds me of how Isabel took care of him in book 1. The chemistry between these two was burning up the pages. The build up was worth it as the romance worked with this fast paced story. The joint assignment gave these two a chance to really work on creating trust, which translated over to their personal life.

Even more intriguing was the side action featuring D, Noelle and Jim. I cannot wait to get the scope on their past. We got a small taste of their relationship and I know their story will be all that!

Definitely one of the better Romantic Suspense series I have read and I can't wait until I get the next audiobook.

Special thanks to Tantor Audio for the audiobook, which was given in exchange for an honest review

I adore this series! After dancing around it for ages Izzy and Trev get a book. Trev is over his death wish and death of his fiancee Gina and wants Izzy but she's been running from him for 5 months. Izzy is the master of disguise and running away emotionally. Her dad was a mobster and she joined the FBI, her mob connections were used and she has been hurt emotionally all her life.

When Trev's boss Jim disappears and their compound in Mexico is attacked resulting in devastating losses they need Noelle's help. This book set up the storyline for the next few books. The romance between Izzy and Trev was great. Hello, Trev was awesome in all respects, caring, kick-ass, sexy!

I can't wait for what comes next in this series which I know is Ethan and the older Juliet. But please give us Jim and Noelle soon and heck even D.

When we last saw Trevor and Isabel (Midnight Alias), Isabel had left Trevor without a word and has been off the grid for months. Trevor tracked every lead he could, including visiting her mobster father who’s in prison but he found nothing. Isabel was working undercover for her assassin boss Noelle and now that the mission is over she knows she owes Trevor an explanation for leaving him. They had been getting closer and it scared her, she’s a woman who’s never had anyone in her corner. She grew up in the middle of the mob, her mother committed suicide, her brother was killed in front of her, her father hates her and she’s never had a long term relationship. She’s more comfortable transforming herself into one of her many alias’s instead of living in her own skin. Trevor sees the real her and it scared her so much she bolted. Now she’s back and ready to talk to Trevor and he’s not going to let her run away again.

Trevor is dealing with his own past pain, losing the woman he loved in a robbery gone wrong two years ago. He was a shell of a man but slowly came back to life and now Isabel is reawakening feelings in him that he thought were long gone and even new feelings that he’s never had before. But before they can really talk about their relationship an attack hits Trevor’s team’s main operation and it is complete chaos and devastation. Lives are lost, Trevor’s friends are gone and some are grieving and now they have to figure out who’s attacking them and why, and where their boss Jim Morgan is. He disappeared completely, he didn’t show up to a scheduled meeting and the team fears his life is in danger. They bring in Noelle and her resources to help find him, but no one really knows where Noelle’s thoughts are, is she helping to try and save Jim? Or is she helping so she can kill him herself. That’s one of the things I love most about this supporting character. She has a huge presence on page, she’s ruthless and she plays by her own set of rules.

The action and the team trying to track down leads for not only who launched an attack on their home base but where their boss is really takes center stage. All the team members from both Trevor’s team and Noelle’s are brought in for assignments and Isabel is transformed into one of her personas to try and get close to one of their potential targets, a casino owner who has his hands in plenty of dirty businesses. For as engaging as the action is, and I loved seeing all the characters playing their different roles, the romance between Trevor and Isabel suffered a little and took a backseat. I really liked seeing them together, they have some emotional scenes when they finally start talking about their past and letting the other person in. I also enjoyed seeing Trevor not give up on Isabel, he pushes her a little bit and it’s what she needs to start to open up and let herself be vulnerable to someone. I just wish there would have been a little more focus on their relationship instead of building up all the supporting characters.

Even though I wanted more romance between Trevor and Isabel, the flip side is the supporting characters got plenty of page time and I did enjoy this, a lot. I liked getting to know Noelle more and I especially loved getting to know the Aussie, Sullivan and his partner in crime Liam. There are so many intriguing characters in this series, I’m having a hard time trying to decide who I hope has the next book! The buildup for all the characters is really well done and I want all their stories right now.

The beginning of Midnight Games completely sucked me in with the action and the way Elle Kennedy doesn’t hold back during the fight scenes. People die, characters grieve and the action keeps coming. I enjoyed seeing Trevor break through Isabel’s emotional walls and seeing the two of them become closer. I’d have liked more romance, but what we get is well done and I felt satisfied with their story. The biggest draw for me was the supporting cast and seeing not only the characters but their stories start to build. It has me excited to see what’s coming up next.

Holy crap! Now that's how you do a romantic-suspense! A scorching slow burn romance and suspense that'll get your heart pounding. Excellent!

The Gist: Trevor and his team of mercenaries have gone through hell and come out the other side needing help tracking down those responsible. Isabel and the assassins she works with... are just what they need. Their bosses may hate each other but whenever these two are in a room together sparks fly and temptation hits hard and heavy. Even in the face of danger.

Oh Trevor and Isabel! Yes! They've been such a tease the first two books dancing around each all overcome with lusty thoughts and sheer panic when things start getting too real between them. ::snort:: But with good reason. Damn, yall. These two have had some serious trauma in their pasts and it's been hard to watch as they faced painful memories and in Trevor's part tried to find the strength to keep on living.

I loved them as individuals and as a couple. Trevor's definitely rocking the sexy alpha male with a heartbreaking vulnerability underneath and Isabel. Well she's fascinating. She's a chameleon and can basically become an entirely new person that even friends don't recognize. She's bold, talented and rocking some deep hurts. Now, as a couple. Heat just pours off of them. I liked that even though they had some serious attraction happening things do take time between them. They both had so many issues to get past that it really made sense. There are some really touching interactions, some funny, some sweet as they both deal with their attraction and getting over the past.

The suspense. Gah! Yes. It had me going. I knew there would be a twist at some point but hadn't totally figured out the who and why. I really enjoy seeing the two teams work together. Combining their different talents and methods be it disguise, strength, stealth, tech, etc. This is a hard group of men and women who don't hold back when it comes to getting justice and they're something to behold.

All in all, Midnight Games was one of my favorites from the series. Everything from the romance to the suspense and team interactions just fell into place and created a knock out read that kept me excitedly turning the pages.

Ahhhhh this book! I love this series as a whole, but this one is definitely one of my favorites. Probably only second to Midnight Captive. Isabel and Trevor are sooooo awesome together. I’ve been dying for their story and they did not disappoint.

I don’t even know who I want to talk about first because I loved both Isabel and Trevor. I’ll start with Isabel I guess because she is an awesome badass. I loved her and her ability to transform herself is incredibly cool. And Trevor is just OMG made of swoon. I freakin adored Trevor. I loved how strong he was and that he was also a badass. I loved how he pulled Isabel out of her shell. Their dynamic together was wonderful and their banter was great. These two meshed together so well and their chemistry was insane.

As always with this series, the action was intense and non-stop. Sometimes I think I love the suspense aspect even more than the romance. But the romance is wonderful too. It is the perfect blend. If you are a romantic suspense fan and you haven’t read this series you have got to get on that. The tension was crazy and it kept me guessing. The twist at the end caught me off guard and I loved it.

We also have the wonderful secondary characters. Sully and Liam are of course my favorites. Both of them had me cracking up. I just love what they bring to this cast of characters. It was awesome seeing Abby and Kane again. Abby with her puppies made me smile. And gahhh Ethan! His and Juliet’s story is gonna be fantastic, because shocker, I love Juliet too. And oh man Sean was here this time and I nearly lost my damn mind. For those of you who don’t know, I started this series with Midnight Captive and absolutely fell head over heels for Sean and that hasn’t changed. The one I struggle with though is Noelle. There are tough heroines and then there is Noelle. That girl has a story to tell and I’m both terrified and excited for it.

Midnight Games was an insane read and I absolutely loved it. I can’t believe it took me so long to read this one, but I’m glad I finally did because Trevor and Isabel are awesome. I can’t recommend this series enough.

When last we saw Isabel Roma she had learned a junkie friend from the strip club she was undercover had killed herself. She blames herself as she was in bed with Trevor and late to take her to rehab. She uses it as the excuse to run. To leave Trevor at her apartment waiting her return. She takes a deep cover job from her scary assassin boss, Noelle.

Trevor Callaghan was distraught and worried when Isabel went missing. He did all he could to find her, till he learned she ran from him. Now, in Mexico, at the compound, his worry is now anger. When she finally shows to apologize and tell him why all hell breaks loose. The compound is attacked by mercs. People die. People are injured and when they are safe, well saver, they learn their boss Jim Morgan is missing. Now they need to find him and find out who killed their teammates, their loved ones, their friends.

To find answers and to find Jim, they will need to join forces with Noelle and her team if they have any hope of finding Jim or who raided the compound. From here we will span the globe...Mexico, US, Monte Carlo...all in the hopes of finding answers. All the while as Isabel fights her attraction and a need for Trevor. While Trevor fights to break the walls Isabel so easily builds to keep herself, what she considers, safe.

The gang is all here, Jim's hot alpha mercs. Noelle's sexy as sin assassins and chameleons. A suspenseful sexy steamy military romance with a few twist and turns. I really enjoy this series.

Midnight Games is filled with so much intense love connection, pain, and a team of bada** people. Isabel and Trevor had a connection but one kiss sent her scared for five months until Noelle makes her see her wrongs. First flight back and now she is headed to the compound where everyone is including Trevor only she doesn't know what to say to him. Trevor lost his fiance of 10 years so moving on wasn't easy until she saw Isabell who got him out of his funk and had him falling in love for the stubborn women. When they are under attack at the compound they don't know what is going on only that they just lost a couple of good people and their boss Morgan missing. When they as Noelle and her assassin team up with the guys, they are able to combine forces and eliminate the killer. Along the way we have Isabel blaming herself for actions she cannot control but Trevor won't let her leave again he is determined to have her see she is worthy. Twist at the end of the reason why they were attacked, but great story.

*Can we just say I hate Noelle but something about her I like, the only thing is that how weird is it that she sleeps with D when she and Jim have the past*

We get it every chick is extremely hot, just don't forget the heroine... I gave up after a while. It got annoying how every woman introduced is extremely hot and the hero admired them in a "masculine way" EYEROLL!!

In this instalment of the Killer Instinct series, the team goes under cover in the Casino scene of Monte Carlo as they seek revenge. Loved Trevor and Isabels story and their relationship that has been building since the beginning of the series.

REVIEW: MIDNIGHT GAMES is the third installment of Elle Kennedy’s contemporary, adult Killer Instincts romantic suspense series focusing on an elite group of highly trained men and women-mercenaries for hire. This is Trevor Callaghan and Isabel Roma’s storyline-one that has been building since book one. MIDNIGHT GAMES can be read as a stand alone but for cohesion and character history I suggest reading the series in order.

Told from several third person points of view MIDNIGHT GAMES, advancing the series approximately six month, finds ex Ranger and head of the mercenary team Jim Morgan missing. Left in charge, Trevor sets into motion a plan, with the help of Noelle’s collection of female assassins including the woman who has stolen his heart, to locate their missing leader. The team will soon find themselves on the receiving end of a vicious and deadly attack leaving several dead, a grieving widower, and Trevor and Isabel fighting their attraction to one another. Going into hiding isn’t possible, when the team must search for the man in charge.

The relationship and attraction between Trevor and Isabel began in book one MIDNIGHT RESCUE wherein a grieving Trevor is unable to come to grips with the death of his fiancée. Guilt finds Trevor taking on suicide missions where he hopes to be on the receiving end of a sniper’s bullet. Time and thoughts of Isabel Roma have Trevor looking towards the future but Isabel is determined to keep away. Their latest assignment will find Isabel on the prowl with a mysterious casino owner, and Trevor fighting the urge to jump in and save the day.

Once again, like the previous two storylines, MIDNIGHT GAMES is an ensemble story that not only focuses on the current premise but sets into motion upcoming storylines. There is a definite history between Noelle and Jim, and Derek aka D is not the man we believe him to be. We are also introduced to Juliet and Paige-two of Isabel’s teammates, as well as all the introduction of a potential new team of mercenaries-currently known as Team B.

The world building continues to focus on the mercenary –for-hire premise as Jim Morgan’s team of retired SEALS, Rangers, Marines and soldiers take on the dirty jobs where crossing the line is all in a day’s work. From drug lords to human trafficking; murder for hire and undercover operations, nothing is off limits in the Killer Instincts series. There is violence and murder; kidnappings and threats but the graphic details are limited and mostly implied.

The reader is pulled into an action packed, suspense filled story where the past meets the present but not before travelling a road of twists and turns. Elle Kennedy teases with her slow reveal of character development, background histories, and everyone’s connection to everyone else. There is plenty of tension you can cut with a knife.

Isabel and Trevor have been dancing around each other for two books now. Isabel is a master of disguise. Her job is to go into a "job", get close the the target to obtain as much information as possible, then she's out of there and one of her teammate assassins are in to finish the job. Trevor is a good operative who recently lost his wife a couple years ago. When these two first meet, Trevor was an empty shell. However, there was something about Isabel that slowly drew the old Trevor back. Over time their relationship slowly built up with freaked Isabel out and caused her to run off on Trevor. This book picks up about half a year after that happens.

I was really excited to get Isabel's and Trevor's story. Like I said, they had been building up to this from the start. There was no insta-love or any of that non-sense. Instead you have two people who over time develop feelings for one another. However, Isabel had a damaging childhood with her mobster family and she's not convinced that she can ever truly give herself over to someone. On the other hand, you have Trevor who feels guilty for having these feelings for another woman. After-all, he was married to his wife for over a decade. He feels that by moving on he's disgracing what him and his wife had. So, needless to say there was a lot of sexual tension going on in this book.

Just like the previous two books, this story doesn't just focus on one couple. We also see glimpses of others forming as well. There was definitely one that I did not see coming at all. I like that the books don't just focus on two POV's because it keeps the story rolling. We also go behind the scenes to the guy whom the team is trying to get close to in the hopes of getting information about where the mercenaries boss, Morgan, is. I don't know why but I always love getting inside the mind of the bad-guy.

This is turning out to be a fun series and I'm enjoying not only the sweet romances that take place but all the bad-assery as well. I mean, what else is going to happen when mercenaries and assassins team up for mission after mission? Up next is Ethan's book and we got a taste of him and his leading lady in this book. They were adorable together always bantering back and forth. So, I'm definitely looking forward to reading their story.

Another thrilling saga with the dynamic cast of mercenaries and assassins.

Almost all of the characters story lines are started in a previous book so I recommend reading this series in order. We met Trevor Callaghan and Isabel Roma in the previous two books. When we first met Trevor he was on a suicide mission due to the loss of his wife. Isabel was paired with him on a couple of missions over the years and managed to bring him back from his brink of despair. But once she’d done that and saw there was something beginning to spark between them she ran for five months. Now she is back and realizes she needs to do the right thing and go to Trevor and apologize. But shortly after arriving at the compound a full on attack is launched against them leaving a few secondary characters dead. Right before the attack Jim Morgan who heads up the mercenaries disappears and they fear whoever attack them is responsible for his disappearance. With their base destroyed Isabel suggest they go to one of her boss Noelle's safe locations to regroup and figure out what is going on.

The complexities of both the men (the mercenaries) and the women (the assassins) only get more frustrating in this book. Noelle the leader of the assassins is one cold blooded woman but she agrees to lead the team of mercenaries in the fact finding mission of figuring out who is after them and where there leader is even though she hates Jim Morgan. An interesting twist was presented in this book between her and one of the more deadly mercenaries. All this did was leave me screaming at the book wanting to know what is deal between her and Morgan. Don’t take my ramblings there to mean I didn’t like the book. I loved it. I love every character in this series even though the author's slow torturous revealing of the history of certain characters is driving me nuts. But hey that means I am for sure invested in all the future books in this series because I have to know what the h – e – double l is going on…

This is my favourite book in the series. I was all but excited to read Trevor and Isabel's story and it was amazing. We meet both these characters in the first book and there Trevor is broken over his fiancée death. And Isabel makes him feel like he wants to live. In the second book Trevor was much better but Isabel isn't in the end and I was on the edge of my seat to see what happens next. And here is the review without the further ado.

Isabel comes back feeling guilty leaving him like that and avoiding him for so long and I really liked that. Also how Trevor doesn't let her off the hook easy. At the starting of the book, I am enjoying and reading, everything is happy but it doesn't last, like all the other Killer Instinct novels it is action packed. Though I felt very sad to see certain things in the first part of the book, rest is good.

With Jim Morgan gone missing, everything is gone haywire and everyone needs to seek shelter and find him. Noelle comes to the rescue, well in Noelle style. You get to know a little bit more of Noelle and Jim(I can't wait to read their book). So with dividing in two teams they operate and Trevor and Isabel are struggling with their feelings.

Trevor has come far from the first book but still he takes time to admit his feeling and there is that problem where Isabel is taking caution and stepping slowly into this. I totally got where Isabel came from with her family's past and all. So it was going to take time as both of them were broken a little.
Their romance was really good.

From the moment Trevor and Isabel were introduced to each other I knew they would be a great couple and I was excited to read their book. However, I didn't end up enjoying it as well as I had hoped. In the earlier books, Isabel seemed so open and giving but by the time her story rolled around that changed. After going to see her father in the previous book, she left Trevor without a word and disappeared. It really bothered me and Trevor.

This book had me at times frustrated and grossed out, inner mixed with like of the book. I didn't care for Isabel's back and forth and I absolutely did not like

Overall, I liked the story and the suspense in the book. That was very engrossing but the romance was at time so frustrating that it took the book down a notch with me. Both Trevor and Isabel were infuriating to me. This book had me quite stressed out and skeeved (see spoiler).

I will continue to read this series because for the most part I like the characters. And I will even read Noelle's book but I won't hold out too many high hopes.

Isabel and Trevor have been avoiding the inevitable since they worked their first assignment together. Trevor had to learn to overcome his grief from losing his fiancé and Isabel carries her past around like a heavy weight. She plays a chameleon for Noelle's team and Trevor gives her hope of a life of normalcy, something she knows she will never have. After their last mission together Isabel took off leaving Trevor with no explanation. Now, he's trying to track her down because he knows they share a chemistry even if Isabel is playing the coward role.

Midnight Games was everything I had hopes for. By 10% this story took on a full-blown action plot that left me anxious to get some answers and we also get a glimpse into Noelle and D's character's. Which...that was a SHOCK! I can't wait to get Noelle and Morgan's full story! The romance was more present in this installment, which Trev is a total Alpha male and Isabel had a softer side that I enjoyed seeing from the chameleon.

By far the best book to the series so far and I can only hope it continues as I jump into Midnight Pursuits, which happens to be Ethan and Juliet's story!

God, this was a gooooood read. Pure fun. There wasn't a second where I thought this is boring or too melodramatic, the way romantic suspense novels can be. We finally get to see a bit more of Derek and, let me tell you, it was hawt! And I was left craving for more!! And Trevor. At times he was behaving like a Neanderthal, crazy jealous and possessive and made me furious, but then he said something sweet or did something extraordinary and it was impossible for me to hate him.

I have to say, this book reminded me of my favorite KA novel, Law Man. Anyway, it completely fulfilled my expectations and it blew my mind. I loved it. I'm officially addicted to The Killer Instincts series.

Of to the next one!

I am FINALLY getting around to getting caught up on this series!

This OTP has been 3 books in the making, and holy hell, was it worth the wait! This book had it all: action, suspense, feels, and swoon. I didn't want it to end.

Elle Kennedy can do no wrong in my eyes. This is the 7th book of hers that I've read, and she is just consistently amazing. I'm fully engaged from start to finish, and I am always eager for more once I'm done.

Her books are like crack, and I'm ready for my next fix.

Onto book #4 of this series!

4.5 STARS!
