Overall, this was a good book. I kind of feel like this series goes over the same plot over and over, but it’s switched up enough to make it tolerable, and the target age wouldn’t care about that anyway.

There were a few nuances with the invisibility thing that kept nagging at me, but I know that doesn’t really matter either.

Really, this was a series of my childhood, and I could never dislike it, even though there are many more creative series out there. It’s cute and easy to read, and that’s really all the target audience asks for, so who am I to ask them to change it?

Picked this up since my 4-year-old is getting into chapter books and loves unicorns. This book is fine but we read The Unicorn Princesses, which set the bar a little high for this Magic Ponies series. And so I was a little disappointed with all the lying little Marcie does - especially when she's lying about doing responsible things (nope, I wasn't helping a magic pony and my new friends, I was definitely sitting at home inside doing nothing). It's a kid's book, I shouldn't be so harsh. But I enjoyed the unicorn princesses book so much more as something I'd have to read to my young daughter.

This book was not terrible. The story itself was good.
At first I was confused because I did not realize he would become a different horse for a new girl.
Plus all the lying. I know it's a book but there are bound to be questions eventually.

We got to 'see' the dark horses in this one, if only briefly. I hope that something actually happens with them instead of this empty threat hanging in the distance.

I know this sounds like a negative review but all things aside it was a nice book.

From a parent’s perspective, I did not appreciate how the main character had to constantly keep secrets from her parents. She breaks rules about going outside alone when her parents aren’t home, then lies to them about it saying she just stayed in her own yard rather than being honest about going down the road. I decided not to have my girls read this series.

I was glad to see Marcie made new friends when Lara moved away. Meeting friends is hard but its nice she made a connection with Ian and his sister, Sally with their love of horses. Even though they were off to a bumpy start Im glad they realized it wasn't Marcie's fault. Now, they will have lots of fun riding horses and making a good friendship.

*It's always sad to hear that Comet has to go back to Rainbow Mist Island when he finds Destiny but also very magical he brings a special adventure into each girls life that gets to meet him. I still wish I could be one of the lucky girls to meet Comet.

If you love horses I recommend reading the Magic Ponies series. Your love of horses will grow more then ever! I'm now so inspired to go ride horses and maybe I will find my own special "Comet". :)

For all the 8 books in the series, Magic Ponies, the prologue of all the books had been repeated. The reaction of the girls when they discover Comet, when he needs to leave and when he has left, is exactly the same. When reading this series, the only difference of these books are the girls' names and their situations. Even the girls have similar personalities.
As a horse lover myself, I enjoyed all the books, especially "A special wish". However, there was not a lot of creativity in the stories.
The only thing to look forward to are the different horse-related scenarios in every book.

This book was dazzling. I truly loved it because it had magic love excitement and more. I loved the ponies in the story because they sounded like they were really cute.i also loved a girl named Marcie because she was. really nice to a horse named Commot . This book was really good and I'm so glad I read it.

I love the magic animal books by Sue Bentley, she is so clever! A new friend is the first book in the magic ponies series, and a special wish is the second. I loved the first one, so hopefully this second one is equally as nice

If your daughter is a horse lover, she will love this series. I read this book because my niece loves to share her books and she gave it to me to read. I enjoyed the story and the little bit of mystery that is in it. Now I can talk about it with my niece.
