Works, such as Slavonic Dances (1878), of Antonín Leopold Dvořák, a Czech, often incorporate folk music; he composed From the New World (1893), his final symphony, as director of the national conservatory in city New York from 1892 to 1895.

To właśnie ciekawość opery zachęciła mnie do przeczytania jej.

Sorry, the below is not a review. I've run out of space in Goodreads's "notes" field and I like to make a note of when I re-read the libretto for a specific performance.

February 25 2017: My first Rusalka. A new production from director Mary Zimmerman via Met in HD at AMC Classic Camp Hill on Elder conducting with soprano Kristine Opolais, , Dalayman, Barton, Jovanovich, Owens. Saw this again on PBS Great Performances also in 2017.

November 15, 2020: MetOpera.org's free pandemic stream of a Februrary 8, 2014 Met HD. Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin conducts a magical performance starring soprano Renée Fleming in the title role and tenor Piotr Beczała as the Prince with Otto Schenk’s classic staging tonight. My favorite John Reylea as the water gnome.

Read the libretto in anticipation of seeing / hearing the opera. What an interesting fairy tale: hints of Faust, Adam and Eve, Little Mermaid. The message: don't mess with Mother Nature! Can't wait to experience the opera!
