I was born in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri named Bridgeton. During my time in Missouri, I explored the Ozarks, swam in the Mississippi River, played kickball and endless games of hide and seek with the neighborhood kids. Spending summers in Kentucky with my Grandmother, Ruth, are the fondest childhood memories for me.
At the age of thirteen, my family moved to Wisconsin to learn to farm. Yes, learn to farm! That was interesting. Taking city kids and throwing them on a farm with twenty-eight cows purchased from the Humane Society because they had been abused, was interesting. I learned to milk cows, the ins and outs of a breeding schedule, feeding schedule and the never ending haying in the summer and trying to stay warm in the winter. Our first winter in Wisconsin, we had thirty-six inches of snow in one storm and were snowed in our house for three days! Needless to say, I wasn’t loving Wisconsin.
I am now married with four children and three grandchildren. I have learned to love Wisconsin, though I still hate snow. Wisconsin and the United States are beautiful and my husband and I travel around by motorcycle seeing new sites and meeting new people. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are interested in where we are going and what we have seen along the way. At every gas station, restaurant and hotel, we have people come up to us and ask us about what we are doing and offering advice on which roads in the area are better than others and great rides others have been on if we are interested.
I come from a family of veterans. My grandfather, father, brother and two of my sons and one daughter-in-law are all veterans. Needless to say, I am proud. Proud to be an American and proud of the service my amazing family has given.
These stories just keep getting better and better! Maya Sager is a member of the GHOST: Legacy team sent to keep the peace at the military installation in Glen Hollow, Kentucky. Jasiah Weston lives up the hill. The community there is finally starting to settle down and see how things can be between them and the "townies". Maya is anything but a girly girl. Jasiah has never been attracted to another woman, until he spends some time with Maya. He is smitten and she is too. They have a duty to find out who is after Jasiah and why. Help comes in the most unlikely way. The road to their HEA is anything but easy for Jasiah and Maya. There will be twists and turns that no one sees coming. Get this book ASAP and find out what happens next. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.
First, let me just say that Shielding Maya is a must read!
PJ Fiala has reached an all new level of success in her writing with Jasiah and Maya’s story!
Of course we get all of the action and suspense that PJ is known for, but shes also showing us an all new and deeply touching quality to her characters this time and I absolutely love it!!!!
Have you ever heard the saying "Give and take?" Well, Jasiah and Maya are the perfect example of this! And yeah, they both have a duty to serve, but when it comes down to the very real possibility of their HEA, what are Maya and Jasiah willing to give up?
Such a phenomenal story!!! Five stars all the way!!
i received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Wow Jasiah and Maya’s story is a wonderful heartwarming read. She’s the ghost operative and he will soon be the new leader of the commune in the hills. How these two find each other and build their relationship is a great fast paced, page turning read. You go through the whole gauntlet of emotions reading this one!
Maya Sager is a GHOST operative, following in her parents footsteps. Her specialty is recon and rescue. She's not a girlie girl but is tough as nails. She's moved to Glen Hollow, Kentucky with her GHOST family to do a job she loves.
Jasiah Weston was born and raised on the Hill overlooking Glen Hollow. His father has been the President/leader of the people but he's on his deathbed, Jasiah is next to lead. They have been working on a peaceful merger between his people and the people in the town below. Not everyone is happy about it.
When there's a murder the GHOST group is there to find the killer but they have to work with the Hill people, especially when one of them is also a target.
Maya and Jasiah end up spending a lot of time working together to find the killer and info they need. They get involved but this could cost Jasiah everything since they are from 2 different backgrounds. You don't get involved with the town people. Will this be the end of them?
5 stars Get ready for the twists and turns! Another great read from Ms. Fiala!
'Let's go protect each other again. This time I get the top'
We really get to know Jasiah here and he is as different from the previous leaders as can be, he is protective, thoughtful, approachable, driven, decisive and most of all fair. He wants true peace for Hickory Hills and knows that change must happen for peace to remain. He is a great leader and Maya is swept off her feet by him, it's not an easy task to sweep an operative off their feet but this unique and intriguing man does it within moments. Equally Maya steals his breath and he is stunned by the attraction he feels, she doesn't need him, she is strong enough to stand on her own feet, but she wants him. And to Jasiah that means far more, they are a great power couple, they lead together beautifully - but the power doesn't go to their heads, they put the community first and remain approachable. This book has a few twists and the team seem to be moving in different directions, but it is lovely that all remain close and seem to be settling in and around the town. I loved this book, although I am sad that we are fast heading towards the end of the series with just one more book left, Myles's book due out February.
Once again we are involved in the story between the Ghost Operatives second generation and the people on the hill above Glen Hollow Things are finally settling down the members of the commune are starting to learn to live with the townies they now have water and electricity and some are even working in the town but change is in the air Their president is dying and Jasiah Weston as his only son is the one who should become the new president When a murder on the hill draws the operatives up there again it leads to a connection between Jasiah and Maya Sager. She has never been a girly girl and he has never met a woman quite like her but that doesn't mean that they can't fall passionately in love She soon realises that someone is trying to kill Jasiah can she protect the man she loves and get to the bottom of what is happening on the hill Meanwhile there is even more change for the people of the commune as they adapt to their new lives. This is a fast paced story with plenty of twists and turns to keep you engaged until the last page
Some of the people living in the commune on Hickory Hills are starting to upgrade their homes since the town of Glen Hollow provided them access to water and electricity. This doesn’t stop the bad guys from affecting their tranquility though when Senator Jackson dies on their property. The senator left the safety GHOST provided for him and operative Maya Sager was searching the mountain side for him when she and Hickory Hills president’s son Jasiah witnessed his death. With his father on his deathbed, Jasiah is next in line to be president to the people living in the commune on Hickory Hills overlooking Glen Hollow. To be fair to his people, he works with the leaders of Glen Hollow to help HH grow but first, they have to solve the senators case. It seems that he is after Jasiah believing he knows the secrets the senator left behind. Jasiah and Maya grow closer as they work together to solve the mystery and why he is after Jasiah now. I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review. #pjfiala
I couldn't wait to read about Maya's story and was not disappointed in how she met Jasiah and their relationship evolved. As Hickory Hills adjusts to the changes, they need a new leader and Jasiah inherits the position from his father. As he serves the people while his father recovers from an illness, shots ring out in the woods and he goes to investigate. He's met by Maya who was tracking the missing senator and they witness him being shot. There is a recording somewhere and the hunt is on to find it before the bad guys kill Jasiah. Loved this story and how bringing in the parents for each book in the series is not an intrusion, but an encouragement as you would want parents to do. Well Done!
I have been waiting for Maya’s story and I definitely was not disappointed. Maya has always been a favorite character for me. She’s as tough as any of the guys and just as smart and skilled. So when she encounters Jasiah Weston, it’s amazing to see a more feminine side of her. Jasiah is the son of the leader of Hickory Hills and has inherited his position when he becomes ill. Not everyone supports him, he has helped bring a lot the community but not everyone wanted the changes. While Maya is tracking a missing Senator she encounters Jasiah and they witness a murder. Can they keep each other safe, continue the paths they have chosen, and make a relationship work? What an amazing read, you don’t want to miss this one!
Stars I received a free copy of the steamy November set novel Shielding Maya: Ghost Legacy Romantic Suspense Series: A Small-Town Romantic Suspense Novel Book Six by PJ Fiala, and this review was given freely. Action, murder, and a lot of change culminate in an unforgettable Thanksgiving and the continued expansion of the Ghost family. Tomboy Ghost Operative Maya and the next in line for the Presidency of Hickory Hills, Jasiah Weston grow closer despite their different backgrounds, a persistent assassin, and the uncertainty brought on by his father’s terminal illness. 18+ for steamy scenes.
Maya Sager was a Ghost operative following in her parent's footsteps, joining the Ghost team after the military. She and her twin Miles were both assigned to Glen Hollow Kentucky where there was a group stirring up trouble in the hills above the town, but now cooperating since the previous leader deceased. She met one of the new community leaders, Josiah Weston...the attraction was mutual between the two, but then they saw a man under Ghost's protection murdered after he snuck out of the compound...but did the killer know he was seen??? You will need to read this suspenseful tale to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
Maya works for Ghost Legacy, but is considering leaving Glen Hollow as dating opportunities are slim. Jasiah is the new leader of the community up the hill. Until recently they were completely separate and cult-like. Agreement with the town has provided water, power and job opportunities. Most are happy with the changes.
A murder on the hill has Maya working with Jasiah. After respect, comes romance. The difference in their worlds make for interesting reading, and the intrigue, danger and romance integrate for pure entertainment.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
This was such a great story. Two people from different worlds coming together amidst hostility and turmoil along with a lot of change within one community. I loved Maya and Jasiah’s connection and the support they received from their friends and family. It’s a fast-paced, well-written story with twists and turns, great characters, suspense, action, danger, some laughs, and steam. It was gripping from beginning to end.
*I received an advanced reader copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Shielding Maya us an awesome addition to the GHOST Legacy series. PJ Fiala writes great, sexy romantic suspense books. Maya is a GHOST operative, and she is in Hickory Hills working on a mission when she meets Jasiah. Jasiah is helping to run the community, and they are making many progressive changes. They fall in love as the mission progresses. I couldn’t put the book down. This story is full of all of the feels, and you will love the happily ever after. I can’t wait for they next book!
Shielding Maya is book 6 in the GHOST Legacy series by PJ Fiala and the next generation of GHOST operatives.
Up next is Maya and Jasiah’s story. When these to witness the unthinkable in the woods on the hill while trying to get to the Senator before his demise…now one or both may be in danger. Suspense, twists, turns, opposites attract, she’s city he’s back country, steamy, mystery and more…
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from StoryOrigin. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is Maya's story (Jax and Dodge's daughter). Another great book to the series. While trying to find the senator Maya runs into Jasiah and they both witness his murder. Then they soon discover that Jasiah is a target and needs protection. Loved the story and the characters. Another Insta love story, looking for a killer, changes up the mountain, still trying to take down the President elect and an update to the things going on in HOG and the previous characters is what you get to look forward to in this story.
When Maya a GHOST operative and the Hills soon to be president, Jasaih witness a murder, their lives are in danger. When the team rally to protect and investigate this book really picks up. Full of action, danger and suspense this book is so good on all levels. I loved Maya and Jasaih who were made for each other even though they come from different worlds they really work. And the team were just amazing. Well written with a great team spirit and fantastic characters and an involving plot. Very well done!!!
This has been one of my favorite books in the GHOST Legacy series. Jasiah is newly in charge of Hickory Hills and is trying to guide them as they adapt to more modern amenities. Maya is investigating the death of a senator that took place on Jasiah's land. The two seem to be as opposite as can be, but the attraction can't be denied. They have a lot to figure out, being from two different worlds, all while finding out who is after Jasiah. I really loved this book, can't wait for the rest of the series.
I loved watching Maya and Jasiah work together and fall for each other
Maya and the team are looking for the senator when she runs into Jasiah and the witness someone kill the senator. Now the must keep Jasiah safe because the think the killer is after him. But he is also changing how the president is chosen and needs to be up on the mountain with his people. Will they be able to keep the peace with everyone while exploring their feelings? What will her parents think of her falling for someone frm the BRR?
I received this book as a beta reader for an honest review. I enjoyed Maya and Jasiah. It's not often where the female heroine is not the damsel in distress. I found the story well written, flowing nicely, offering twists and turns, and even a cute little sprite popping up in a few chapters. It was even emotional for me, as a reader, since I had to grab a tissue to wipe a few tears. Give the author some love and read this book!
This is another great addition to this series in which two independent, self-sufficient individuals find their love match. We get to see changes that are happening in Hickory Hills including a change in leadership, new employment opportunities, and upgrades to living conditions. Then too there is the danger and suspense that comes with Maya and Jasiah having witnessed a murder. I was hooked from the beginning and shed a few tears reading this story.
A great addition to the Ghost Legacy series. Jasiah is next in line to be President of his community on the Hill, but when he witnesses a murder he along with Maya, a Ghost operative, is soon thrown together. PJ shows us how the community is now changing since the truce between the people on the hill and the the townspeople, while also giving us a slow burn between two strong people trying to fit into each others world. The twists, turns, drama and action will have you turning the pages.
Another great story in the GHOST series, I had been looking forward to Maya's story for a while and it certainly did not disappoint. Action, murder and a twisty plot make for a great tale while Maya and Jasiah explore their romantic feelings for one another. As always the team spirit shines out in these books and we have the opportunity to catch up with old friends as Maya and Jasiah find their HEA. I recommend this book and look forward to the next offering by this author.
I enjoyed this storyline that featured the blending of two entirely different cultures with a romance embedded in a suspense. The characters were extremely likable and highlighted all the different strengths that are not bound by gender. I loved how the books were interconnected and didn’t depend upon each other for a good read.
Maya is a GHOST operative and Jasiah is soon to be the leader of his people. It starts out with a murder and the twists and turns just keep coming. As things start to heat up the chemistry between the two also heat up protecting each other along the way and falling in love. You'll keep reading to see what happens next.
This is another great addition to the Ghost Legacy series. It’s an intriguing story that held my attention all the way to the end. There’s lots of drama, twists and turns. A very well written romantic suspense. This is a very enjoyable series. *this is a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*
Maya Sager is a GHOST Legacy operative. Myles Sager is Maya’s twin also works for GHOSt Legacy. ( as explosive expert Being a former Marine). Josiah Weston is the leader of the Hill people.
Maya and Josiah try to solve the incident up on the Hill after they realized Josiah was the target. They have to solve the who and why.
They became attracted to each other and the chemistry just ignites. Can Jaida’s get help from his people to solve the crime? Can they have a Happily Ever After?
This book has edge of your seat suspense, intrigue, a chance at love.
Another great addition. These stories keep getting better. Two people who come from different backgrounds who are thrown together by witnessing a murder. This story is engaging And keeps you reading from start to finish. I was given an advanced reader copy and I voluntarily leave this review.
I think this was one of my favorites in the series. I love how tough Maya is and to watch the dance between her and Jasiah is interesting. I really like that we see more of what happens up on the hilltop and the people up there. A slow burn but sweet and sexy.
Loved this book!!💖 Maya and Jasiah are a great combo! Can't wait to see what happens in the next book!! My suggestion is to start at the beginning and go from there! A wonderful on going series!
