But when Joseph pulls his prized goat milk soaps from the bazaar, Misty is left with no choice but to confront the town crank and her former crush. Joseph has alienated nearly everyone in town, including the woman he used to have feelings for, all to protect a dark family secret. But when his prize goat goes missing, Misty is the only one who can solve the mystery that goes deeper than lost livestock. Misty and Joseph will have to overcome years of bad blood to solve the mystery of the missing magical goats, save Oracle Bay, and give their budding a love a chance to grow...
Amy Cissell is a USA Today Bestselling Author of urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels. She lives in Portland, OR with her husband, her haunted house-obsessed daughter, their two cats, and the murder of crows she's conspiring to turn into her vengeful army.
When she's not working or writing, she's sleeping because that's all she has time to do! There are few things Amy loves more than a well-timed pun, a good book, a glass of wine, and making calf eyes at Portugal when she thinks no one’s looking.
Although she reads anything and everything, her first love has always been fantasy. Eleven-year-old Amy discovered fantasy when she 'borrowed' her father's copy of The Hobbit and an enduring love affair (mostly with dragons) was born.
This book is just absolutely amazing. I love how this book was in Misty’s point of view. I love all of the characters so far in the series. I would definitely say that Billie aka uni (which was such a crazy turn of events), is definitely one of my favorite characters. If you are looking for a magical, funny, adventurous book, I would definitely recommend reading this series. This is my favorite book of the series so far. I cannot wait to read book 3!

This is the second book in the Oracle Bay series by Amy Cissell.
After reading book one, I found book two a bit harder to get into. For one thing, we didn’t start from where the last book left off. We retraced our steps at the beginning of this story to back before Sandy even came to town and we were introduced to Joseph the goat farmer and his relationship with Misty. This was a bit of a mind bender for me since I was ready to move forward from the last book and not jump backward.
In a way, I almost wish this book and the previous book would have been put together to keep the continuity of the timeline. They kept mentioning some big event in book one but I couldn’t grasp onto that since I had nothing to base these fears on.
Overall, it was a good story. Love all the gods and magical stuff littered all throughout the book. Definitely liked book one so much better. The love story was just my jam. This one didn’t speak to me as much, not sure why.
If you love a good contemporary romance, cozy mystery, definitely check this one out.
The first thing I noticed was that I was immediately drawn into this book. I have read the first one, and it took me a little to get into it. However, this one was instantaneous. My attention was kept throughout the whole thing. I loved the first one, but this one was even better. Next, I loved the way the author skillfully merged this book with the first one; the first part of this book ran concurrently with the first one. I couldn’t even tell as it was seamless. Although, I must admit, the way this second book was written, the book itself did feel like two books. I can’t really say much more than that as I don’t want to spoil it, but this wasn’t a bad thing, just interesting. Great plot, writing, and characters made a great read! I love this series, and I can’t wait to read the next one. If you love cozy paranormals, I highly recommend this book!
First Hand Knowledge is the second book in the Oracle Bay series by Amy Cissell take the quirkiness of the first one and builds on it. This book grabbed me from the start and took me on a wild ride through Oracle Bay and the seemingly normal people in the coastal town. I loved how she seamlessly connected the events of the first book with the concurrent timeline of this book. It was interesting to see the events from a different point of view than the first book. This was a fun quick read and I can't wait for the rest of the books in this series.
This starts off as Misty's POV of the first book, but then continues the mystery that was introduced at the end of the first book. I really liked seeing her POV as she knew a lot more than Sandy to start with. I also loved Joseph and his goats. It was fun learning more about the characters in this town and I loved the mystery. It was a really fun book.
I love the convention that this sequel actually starts with some concurrent plot to the first book in the series. It was pleasing to see the previously read action from another point of view. Misty was incredibly supportive of Sandy considering all she was going through herself!
Amazing. Amy did it again. Oracle Bay appears to be a normal sleepy town with a few extra mind readers... but what goes on there is anything but normal. I loved this second installment and cannot wait for the third.
This is a good series but with this book there was so much encounters from the first book that were word for word that I had to skip through a lot of it or I would have given it 5 stars.
A pleasant romance, psychics up in arms and a mad goddess. A storm is brewing and action builds. The town is in danger. A enjoyable book. Look forward to book 3.
The first half of the book takes place at the same time as the first book in the series, but is told from a different character's perspective and focuses on different things. The second half introduces new material and advances the timeline somewhat.
I enjoyed reading through Misty, and I like that we got to learn a bit of her backstory in this book, however, my favorite part of all was learning about the Gods and magic.
