"Jesus held the line for truth in His ministry. In John 6, He supernaturally fed the poor, but immediately afterwards challenged the crowd's motives for following Him. He corrected them for primarily seeking Him because of His humanitarian aid, while they failed to pursue Him. In telling His disciples to eat His flesh and drink His blood, Jesus was urging them to break their allegiance with everything else; and lay everything down for His sake. After hearing this costly challenge, John 6:66 says that many deserted Him and followed Him no longer. Jesus then asked His friends, the apostles, a piercing question: "Do you also want to go away?" Jesus Christ is the Just One, and His people are called to witness of His justice in the way they relate to one another and the poor. Our outreach ministries and works of justice must be done through our deep loyalty to Jesus and Him alone. Jesus will not compromise who He is and what He is about. The Spirit is calling for prophetic voices that will call the church to a determined allegiance to Christ and take a stand against the false justice movement that is rapidly emerging in the earth today...
We must take a stand and hold fast to the truth of Christ, and we should have His preeminence in our hearts above any social issue that concerns us. We must pursue justice with an undying allegiance to Jesus. Our works of justice must be done His way and on His terms."
