While Papanek's comments are definitely parts of his era (the book was published in 1977), the design principles discussed still apply to today with our bloat computer frameworks, touchscreens on every device, and oversized boxes used for shipping. Environmentally sustainable and clever design are needed now more than ever.
If I ever had to add to a published book, I would like it to be this one.
