Luke & Sophie’s secret affair has been uncovered and they have to get away or Luke will be killed...and quite possibly Sophie as well, that’s what happens when you go against the crime boss AKA Sophie’s dad. This book had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen, it was fast paced and steamy as heck. Will it turn out to be a Happy Valentine’s Day? Only one way to find out....

Even 1⭐️ is too much…
Honestly I was looking forward to read this, since the blurb was really interesting. I wanted to read how Sophie and Luke met, how they became a couple, the angsty feeling of being discovered by Sophie’s dad. I wanted to get to know the characters and how they ended up being chased etc. Instead you just get like 10 minutes of action and a couple having sex. Nothing more, nothing less.
It could have been such a great book, but it missed all its potential.

Short, steamy scene between gangster’s “princess” and her bodyguard
When you feel in the mood for a quick steamy filler, the short books by Mountford are highly suggested. You won’t be looking for character development, fulfilling plots or a lot of story in general. What you get is basically a scene that is just enough to appease that naughty side. In this book, Sophie and Luke have begun a secret liaison in which her father would not be pleased. Sophie is a gangster’s “princess” daughter and Luke is her bodyguard. That relationship did not stop Sophie from making her interest in Luke known. Unfortunately, other people have found out and are looking for our couple. What happens when Dad’s consigliere finds them at a club? Oh. My. Word. What happens behind closed doors shouldn’t be so unabashedly loud and reckless!
If you like short books with lots of steam and clear word pictures, you will want to try this book. Guaranteed not to disappoint. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens.

General Thoughts: I didn't realize this was such a short novella, when I agreed to read it. The plot sounded amazing, and so I had high hopes for this one. It didn't quite live up to them. Probably because it was such a quick, short read that there wasn't time to really dive into the plot or characters. I would have loved to see more here!

However, for being a short story/novella, the author did a great job creating an interesting story. It was well-executed and a fun, scorching, enjoyable read. I enjoyed it. You are immediately thrown into the action.

Steam Meter: ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Very steamy sexual scenes. This is all sex with a little bit of plot.

Penny For My Thoughts:
Valentine Misadventures features a runaway couple - Luke & Sophie, Luke being Sophie's former bodyguard hired by her father. They soon fall in love however, to settle certain debts, Sophie is being traded to a mafia man by her father. Hence, the couple decides to runaway and end up in a raveparty where they are ambushed by the mafia.

What follows after that is a twist which makes them take shelter in a closed hotel suite where they have steamy sex, vowing never to be separated from each other and holding themselves in a love web, forever. A perfect Valentine's quick read, I enjoyed the book. The plot of quite comic and their chemistry was good. I would recommend it for a quick read, surely.

Then all of a sudden her father's right hand man and his men show up in the club looking for them so they slip away from them by going to a room upstairs. You really need to read this fast-paced short and steamy mafia romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Readers are thrust into Sophia and Luke’s relationship as they have been seeing each other in secret. In the Mafia world, maintaining a female’s virginity is the highest priority. Luke and Sophie want to be together, but first, have to outsmart everyone to find their happily-ever-after. This book was really surface level and not long enough to dive into either character’s history, but it was a fun quick read!.

It wasn't really a story
The summary of the books says its about a mafia princess and her body guard... The summary is more of a story than anything.

I knew it was going to be short, the book is only 42 pages, but the whole story didn't even take up most of it. Its just one scene of them being at a club and running and hiding into a room and then is just one big sex scene. The sex was kind of boring too. a lot of moaning. I was just expecting more out of it. The summary should've just been "mafia princess getting railed by her body guard ". It would've been more accurate.

This was a wonderful mafia story, and it is the story of Sophie and Luke, she is the daughter of the boss of the underworld and is forbidden to associate with a bodyguard and vice versa. Their lives are in danger when their secret and forbidden affair is discovered and they both flee to prevent Luke from being killed. You are on the edge of your seat because there is danger, drama, violence, action and a lot of steam and passion between them. Will they survive and get a hea together?

Despite being hunted by her father's men, Sophie always feels safe with Luke by her side, in her mouth, between her legs... you get the idea. Their unbridled passion for each other trumps any potential threat, because Sophie knows Luke will do anything to keep her protected & satisfied.

This is quick & sexy read with some suspense and plenty of steamy action. Enjoy!

This is a short story about Sophie, a mafia princess, and her illicit relationship with Luke, her bodyguard. The story picks up at a quick action scene followed by a very steamy scene between the main characters.

The author really painted a picture of exactly what was happening and what each character was thinking in the moment. I wasn't a huge fan of some of the dialogue as it felt a bit forced, but that didn't hinder the enjoyment of the story itself.

Would recommend for a quick spicy read!

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but this felt incomplete, even for a short, episodic story. There was really little context or conclusion to it. I'd say this is more like a short story to get you in the mood than even a quick read.

I hate to be this blunt about books, I am very grateful for each one I get to read, but I'd have preferred for it to have been a bit longer and have more development besides two lovers caught on a escapade, who make it out and make the most of it.

I can say it it is hot and fairly well-written at least, though it sounded a bit detached to me.

Short story in third person. A rendezvous between two lovers who shouldn’t be together, but can’t stay away. However, they’re willing to fight whom/whatever tries to come between them. No real triggers- mild violence as common in mafia storyline. A character gets presumably unalived but it’s implied and there’s no gore on page. Entertaining, short, steamy read.

Wow , such a fast paced hot novella. Has everything you want and more. This author has outdone himself again. Sophie and Luke have lots going for them. On the run from the goons and her father, they find time to have a super great time. Just would like a little more length for this story . Great read. Would recommend this novella.

This is only a three chapters review, it was hot even a glass of ice would melt how hot the story was the characters were very hot. If you’re looking for a bite-sized quickie made up of pretty much nothing but one sex scene, this is the book for you! No plot whatsoever; just a quick opener and a smut scene. It worked for the mood I was in when I read it. I did think the uses of “her lover” and “his love” got repetitive, but that's a minor note.

Absolutely catchy read, and my favourite Granny who keeps them on the straight and narrow always has a few aces up her sleeve.

This is an extremely quick read and I assume it is meant to be a preview of a series to come. We are introduced to Sophia and Luke who is supposed to be her bodyguard but he is now her lover. They are on the run from her father who has promised her to an underworld boss to strengthen his kingdom. I am anxious to see where this teaser will lead.
