A sudden increase in the violence and frequency of wolf attacks in the forest surrounding Piera has all of the residents on edge.
Ruby:
Three years ago, Rafe left their tiny mountain burg of Piera, leaving Ruby Hood behind to mend her shattered heart. Dealing with the fear created by the powerful and intelligent wolf would be enough for anyone, but now Ruby has to contend with more heartwrenching news . . . Rafe has come home.
Lowell:
Rafe's brother, Lowell, has befriended Ruby in his absence. He's almost as gorgeous as Rafe, and nearly as charming, but the problem is . . . he's not Rafe.
Rafe:
Rafe had no choice but to leave three years earlier, in spite of sharing an earth shattering kiss with his lifelong best friend Ruby. Now, he's back . . . and he's willing to fight for what he wants.
Cindy C Bennett was born and raised in beautiful Salt Lake City, growing up in the shadows of the majestic Rocky Mountains. She lives with two daughters, and three dogs. She also has two sons and two daughters-in-law. She volunteers her time working with teen girls between the ages of 12-18, all of whom she finds to be beautiful, fascinating creatures. When she’s not writing, reading or answering emails she can often times be found riding her Harley through the beautiful canyons near her home (yes, she rides a Harley and no, you'd never know it to look at her!).
Love this short story! Love all the red riding hood references, love the two main guys, love the setting. What I love the most about it is that it keeps you guessing until the end. Who is the wolf?!!! LOVE IT! Great Job, Cindy!
I really liked this story. It was fun, romantic, and clean. It was very short. But I would read more from this author. From the book: Three years ago, Rafe left their tiny mountain burg of Piera, leaving Ruby Hood behind to mend her shattered heart. Dealing with the fear created by the powerful and intelligent wolf would be enough for anyone, but now Ruby has to contend with more heartwrenching news . . . Rafe has come home.
I enjoyed this short story about Ruby and Rafe. Two best friends who fell in love before Rafe left. Rafe comes back and starts to fight against his brother for her attention. With a wolf attacking at the same time starting to get everyone worried. I enjoyed this story but did find it a bit slow to start. I think it could have also been a bit longer as the bit after Grandmas house seems a bit rushed. It was a good story though that I think I will read again. Xxx
Loved this novella!!! What a fun twist on a classic fairy tale. I love the fact that this book was set in modern times, but still held onto the fairy tale roots. I love the Wolfe brothers, I love Ruby Hood, I loved all the characters. This was a fun, quick read and I will definitely read this again when I need a fun little break from reality!
I really liked Beautiful Beast, so I was really waiting for this one with anticipation. It didn't meet my expectations, sadly, and while I enjoyed how in the first book the story didn't linger on the drama of all relationships, with this one, they went so fast!
I am still looking forward to reading more, I have never been a big fan of the Red Riding Hood story anyway!
(I read this as part of the "Enchanted Fairytales" collection, but for some reason it was not listed on Goodreads so I have to add each novella separately.)
3.5 stars. An interesting retelling of Little Red Riding Hood!
No, no me gusto.
Like all the others in this series these are very cleverly done by mixing up modern life with fairytales. All of these are filled with adventure and romance. I loved it.
I loved it, but I do really wish it were longer, it could have had a longer story line to improve the book overall. I know that everyone who read this book would agree that it should be longer.
An enjoyable, short novel that is a retelling of Red Riding Hood, but this time "Red" (Ruby Hood) is in her 20's and has two men fighting over her. It was a clean book with no swearing.
This story is clean, not too violent and well written. That being said it is also entirely predictable and the heroineis a bit dim. But the story is not too bad on the whole.
