Easy Organic Gardening and Moon Planting

Rate this book
A practicable and better alternative to chemical-dependent and environmentally unsustainable cultivation practices, organic gardening prevents soil damage and results in more nutritious food as well as fewer contaminated waterways and poison-resistant pests. Written by a certified-organic farmer and gardener, this book is an indispensable reference to organic cultivation methods in addition to an easy-to-follow moon-planting guide—which lists the best planting, harvesting, and pruning days from 2012 to 2017. Including an extensive listing of native Australian plants and a month-by-month diary of what to plant and when for all climate zones in Australia and New Zealand, it also contains comprehensive information and advice about how to protect the garden from climate change and save water; how to revitalize garden soil and keep it healthy; how to use composting and worm-farming techniques to transform garden and kitchen waste into top-quality, organic fertilizer; how to grow fruits and vegetables in garden beds or pots; and how to raise healthier, pest- and disease-resistant seedlings, shrubs, and trees without using poisons.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a valuable source of information about the processes and systems involved of organic growing of plants, trees and edibles to Australia and NZ gardeners. It includes advice and many suggestions specific to weather conditions, soil characteristics and native flora that are typical of the Southern Hemisphere. It explains also the planting by the moon system, which the author also publishes regularly on her website. Highly Recommended.
