This is the final volume of the series. Genef is now a fully accredited Investigator and can act as mentor to Scratch. This might become necessary if a case arises when they visit her childhood home in Stoneyhill. There are missing elves, rescued babies and too many human and elvish guests for Scratch to count. Meanwhile, Rath is pressing Fel to accept his advances. The dragon gets a case that takes him a step nearer his own eventual accreditation, and the younger members of the Mineholder family find romance.
