Trickle Down Tyranny: Crushing Obama's Dream of the Socialist States of America – A Patriotic Call to Preserve American Greatness

Rate this book
This One Book Can Stop Obama's Tyranny

Welcome to the newly created "union of socialist states of america," a land where

Poverty is rewarded: Obama is actively creating a populace ever more slavishly dependent on the federal government for welfare, health care, food stamps, and unemployment.

Success is punished: In the guise of "fairness," the president has openly declared war on those who have worked hard all their lives to achieve the American Dream.

Our worst enemies are praised, but our allies stiffed: He treats radical Islamists in the Middle East like friends, then stiffs Israel and Western European allies.

The military is used as a pawn: While Obama makes a show of using proud Navy SEALs as a publicity stunt, the overall strength of the military has been decimated.

Our border descends into chaos: While his Fast and Furious program weaponizes the border, Obama attacks states for firmly enforcing immigration laws.

Corporations and cronies make off with all the wealth: As the economy flatlines, Obama rewards his most deep-pocketed campaign donors and allies with fat grants and contracts.

This book delivers powerful punches, Savage style. Another home run for the hugely popular conservative talk-show host. This guy doesn't mess around nor sugar coat anything. He packs in a boatload of exceptionally well-documented evidence and examples as to why another term of the Obama Administration would be extremely detrimental to this country.

Savage is thorough, articulate, to the point. He outlines the many reasons why this administration is corrupt and incompetent. When the main-stream media ignores Obama quotes like this, ".....Where they (Congress) won't act, I will....I've told my administration to keep looking every single day for actions we can take without Congress.....And we're going to be announcing these executive orders on a regular basis," there are only a few people with a microphone and platform who will rightfully question and call out the most powerful man in the world for such blatant disregard to the Constitution of the United States. Savage covers the "tyranny" of the DOJ, the treasury, corporate cronies and radical accomplices, green energy, and wacked-out foreign relations. This is a very crucial book as we face the re-election of a tyrannical leader with questionable values and motives.

I am grateful for people like Michael Savage who has the courage to speak up against the current meglomaniac tyrrant in the Whitehouse and his band of nefarious henchmen. Well written with clear, concise arguments and a dash of the Savage wit. Read the book, get the facts and vote wisely in November.
Nicely done Michael Savage - keep up the good work. Save America!

Why I picked it up: I’m writing this the summer before the 2016 elections, and I wanted a better understanding of the support behind Trump and conservatism in general.

The short take: Savage apparently specializes in alarmist polemic with a strong dose of conspiracy theory. His take is that Obama (with George Soros behind him) is setting up the downfall of the U.S. as a world power and ensuring a decrease in personal liberty for its citizens.

The longer takes: I do have a better understanding of some conservative mindsets. If I believed all this stuff, I’d want Obama out of office and might vote for Trump. In Savage’s world, there is no nuance or sense of complexity --- every action taken on the left has the distinct purpose of tearing down this country. Obama is a Marxist, all of his cabinet officials are corrupt, and almost every policy is a cover for a deeper, more sinister agenda. It’s no wonder that towards the middle of the book Savage’s rules for beating radicals include “[n]ever compromise with a Democrat”, “[o]bstruct Democrats at every opportunity”, and “[n]ever believe a word that comes out of a Democrat’s mouth”. I think I have a better understanding of the gridlock in Washington and some conservatives’s quest for ideological purity. If you think the very future of your country depends on opposing everything the other party does, you’d rather do nothing than negotiate an agreement.

Mind you, a lot of Savage’s alarms don’t pan out. The book was written shortly before the 2012 election, so you get some distance. Savage wrongly predicts the nationalization of the auto industry (the U. S. sold back its shares in GM and Chrysler), the increasing importance of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and a third term for Obama with 90% of the popular vote (possible, but highly unlikely in the absence of a constitutional crisis).

There are some weird written tics, especially in the first quarter of the book. Savage never tires of telling you what you will read in a later chapter, as if you might put the book down at any moment if he wasn’t enticing you with what’s next. (Maybe that’s derived from his radio show?) And I got tired of the bits of egoism, usually expressed in sentences that start “I was the only one to tell you....”

There are some times I agree (at least partially) with Savage. The Fast and Furious gun-tracking scheme was a fiasco for the DOJ, and Obama’s increasing use of drones does raise a host of ethical issues. Like Savage, I am concerned about the influence and (relatively) unchecked practices of the “too big to fail” banks, although Savage sees the banks as masterminding the demise of the U.S. Since Savage has claimed his ideas strongly influenced Trump’s, I was surprised (and thankful) to see a lack of racism.

But, oh, the citations... There’s a lot of claims Savage never gives evidence for, and, when he does, his footnotes call upon news sources I was previously unfamiliar with (e.g., World News Daily, Newsmax, etc...) (I learned a lot about the Balkanization of the internet news environment and the ability to get confirmation bias through news sources.) I basically read this book with the internet at hand to check claims I found incredible. Some panned out (e.g., George Soros quotes), but some claims were unsupported when you looked at source documents. For example, Savage radically rewrites the conclusion of the Supreme Court’s Pentagon Papers decision, omits some of the U.S. government’s response to Cuba’s imprisonment of Alan Gross, and cites a CERN study as showing that the sun (not humanity) causes global warming through increased cosmic rays. (The chief scientist on the study said no such conclusion could be made.)

The worst example, in my opinion, is when Savage claims that the Obama administration spent $1.9 billion on 412 government limousines (or $4.6 million per car). He says this comes from a March 2011 GAO report, but his citation leads to a story from the Center for Public Integrity article, which mentions the 412 number and the $1.9 billion number, but not together. If you look at the actual report, the $1.9 billion number is for the entire fleet of U.S. civilian vehicles (or about 600,000 cars, trucks, and buses). That’s a much more reasonable cost of $3200 per vehicle and not an example of extravagant spending.

In conclusion, it was a painful but eye-opening read that helped me understand the views of those on the far right. I’m glad it’s over.

From the beginning, the book attempts to lure the reader into accepting Obama's shortcomings and abuses of power. The facts presented do need to be checked out, since some of the accusations and suppositions are quite alarming. Another issue which was unnerving, however, was that Savage's own ego appears to be in conflict here, with Obama's.
In Trickle Down Tyranny, Savage spends a good deal of time taking Obama’s administration apart, in order to expose his underlying socialist agenda. He concentrates a great deal on the effect George Soros and Saul Alinsky have had on his philosophy and success. His belief is that Obama’s Presidency will have an ultimately dreadful negative impact on America, reversing it from a position of greatness and power to that of a paper tiger.
Whether or not you agree with him, is not important. He proves many of his points, because in retrospect, they were prophetic. However, the very nature of the book made it obsolete, once printed, since most of the information is no longer current. As examples, although he speaks about rising oil prices, they are, today, coming down. Also, the Fast and Furious investigation is still ongoing, as he wrote, being stalled for political purposes, but not by the right. He feels it is being stonewalled by the left, so that the truth doesn’t come out until after the election.
He does prove the point, with substantial facts, that this President will do most anything to get elected and will make promises he may not intend to keep to please any and all groups that show support for him. This theory has borne out, as he recently circumvented Congress with his executive order providing a temporary immigration fix, simply to garner the Hispanic vote. It is not a theory; it is a fact, that many on the left are willing to admit and tout, as great politics. He will also go after and attack those who do not support him, proven by the constant reissuing of suits and investigations against the CIA agents who helped in operation Desert Storm, or the border agents, or state’s that disagree with his policies or Gibson, t he company that produces guitars. It is a purposeful policy that is provable. Savage suggests that he is anti-business and anti-Israel, perhaps even anti-Semitic. Savage does present factual information to support these theories. They are theories, however. Other facts, however, are connected by dots that I had difficulty connecting without further research. Many are simply his suppositions from information he has gathered and assumed factual.
The book is very repetitious and many pages are unnecessary as Savage introduces a subject and then announces he will explain it in another chapter. He does this often and it is distracting. At one point, I simply went to that chapter instead of having to be reminded over and over again that it would be discussed later on. It seemed like a foolish tactic to fill pages and make the book longer than warranted.
Savage is guilty of the same hubris and arrogance he accuses President Obama. He believes he has the one right way and if only we would listen to him, all could be right with the world. I believe that kind of narcissism, even in brilliant men, is dangerous. The ability to manipulate people to follow one’s ideas, with words and presentation, does not necessarily make a leader exemplary, it merely makes them good speakers, good orators, even great actors with an affinity for the world stage, or perhaps, just possibly, the greatest community organizer, and nothing more.

An eye-opening must read for every American!

I have been listening to and reading Michael Savage's books for years now, though to be honest, it was his books on science and nutrition that intrigued me initially.

This book was a complete surprise, for much of the information contained therein was not only well-researched, it was well-written and insightful. Not just another "let's bash the current political party in office" book, 'TDT' gives the reader a comprehensive list of how to fix the problem that is endemic in the American political system today.

Rarely does a 'second stab' at a concept by an author come off as well as this book did to Savages' first in the series: Trickle Up Poverty.

This book was written and published before the 2012 presidential election, and Savage presents scenarios about what to expect if Obama is re-elected, based on the President’s performance and behavior in his first term. The author feels (and I agree) that there has been a shift over the years to a tyrannical, powerful, controlled government, and this President (who DID end up being re-elected) continues with his activities of slowly restricting our constitutional freedoms. You can sense the anger and frustration in Savage’s words (even if you had been a listener to his radio show, this book carries those same emotions onto the pages). Well written, informative, detailed, and insightful.

Simply shocking and unbelievable what is happening in this great country: tyranny and corruption at the highest levels in our government. Quite frankly, this book was hard to read as it made me angry with how fast we are headed to a 2nd rate status in so many areas of influence and power...as a nation. There are a few points in the book where I would have liked to have the "other side's" story. I do for the most part feel that Michael Savage is dead-on in his "pull-no-punches" style of writing. Great read!

Michael Savage is his hard hitting self in this latest book. He lays out a plan to follow for the next President. He feels that if Obama is not beaten then America is all down hill from here. He is right on target with most of his suggestions. This is an important book to add to your knowledge base. It is up to us,"We The People" to insist our elected officials do the right thing. This is one of those books all should read.

Michael Savage pens an indictment of Oboma and his administration charging that they are circumventing the US Constitution to create a world socialist government. While the charges might be true is uses generalizations and flimsy evidence. Right or wrong, the reader has food for thoughtful conteplation.

I'm a staunch conservative. I tried to make it through this book, and I agree with some of the points made, but it came off as a bit too much global conspiracy stuff for me. Just couldn't keep listening.

A well annotated, colloquially written, compendium of President Obama’s, his administration’s and staff’s overreaches of authority and instances of ignoring the US constitution, and law. Perhaps a bit acerb and vitriolic, but easy to read and understand.
