Isla couldn’t believe it when her older brother threatened her with marriage to that evil monster. Everyone knew that Sheik Hussan El-Hamin was a horrible human being who ruled the neighboring country with an iron fist. He wouldn’t even let reporters into his country – probably because they would report his abuses!
Now the man sitting in the front row at her brother’s wedding…? He was a different matter! This man was tall, handsome, gloriously male with stunning eyes and a muscular physique. But she knew that her brother would betroth her to someone who could be a political ally so she had to eliminate the handsome stranger from her thoughts.
As soon as Hussan saw his friend’s sister, he knew he wanted the lovely Isla to be his wife. When she had to smother her laughter about mis-matched shoes, his choice was made.
Convincing the slender beauty that he wasn’t a monster was a whole other matter, he realized. But from their very first kiss, he knew he was up to the challenge.

Isla was so strong and ambitious. Throughout the book she was strong and courageous. It was refreshing to see her helping hero to build back his country. And hero definitely appreciated it. hero was very intelligent and mature. It showed clearly that he valued her opinion loved her without loosing all his alphaness! A short-light-funny-steamy read without any OM/OW drama. Its main focus was on the couples and I enjoyed it so much. Definitely recommended
This book was so much better than the first. Isla is Rashid little sister and it is his job to marry her off. Isla hopes her brother will take her feelings into consideration. At her brother's wedding, she see a delicious male in the front row how politely points out she is wearing two different shoes. She wants to know who he is but he slips away before she notices. She later sneaks out of the palace to help her medical team go into the border country to tend to the wounded of gang warfare. She sees the man as her commands the army to quell the upheaval. She tends to him then goes back home. He is not just a soldier but King Hussan. He wants her as his own now more than ever so he contact his brother to arrange the marriage. Isla is horrified to learn she is forced to marry Hussan because she believes him to be a cruel dictator but he is far from it. The initial meeting is not good but Hussan like the fire in her. She slowly sees Hussan for who he really is not who she though of him. I really loved the story and cant wait for book three Zarah story.
Too fast. The writing is choppy and there are some things that didn't make sense. Some gestures that seemed propitious. I waited but nothing happened. for example, the glance between her guards. It gave the impression that it'll be used in some future conversation or a scene about some changes? Even the food improvement project seemed abandoned. She bought some spices and some instructions were written but then nothing. No result shown, no acknowledgement even a joke or two inserted in a conversation afterward. All that fuss and then it got cut half-way.
When you write about a certain culture, you have to research it first and make it accurate otherwise make up a new culture (fantasy) but don't give readers false details about a life they don't know. I'm not saying that because of religion, it doesn't matter if it's islam or Christianity because both in arab countries don't live like that. It's a good story just far from culture reality.
The book was quite good. Although I wouldn’t approve of the way Rashid let Hussan take Isla away. But I’m aware that in royal families, arranged marriage is pretty normal and marriage is usually carried out with the suitor who will provide political benefits. It was nice that Isla gave Hussan a chance.
I loved the story line. The Sheik was so swoon worthy but was obviously not a good communicator with his future bride. The princess is a truly loving and kind person who is the perfect match for the sheik. Really good story. Linda
The plot is good, but.. There's just this huge mistake that pissed me off.
SHEIK = SHEIKH = SHAYKH = Arab leader. (via: @The_YUNiversity)
Arab leader. Arab's common religion is Islam, though I know there are so many Christians and Jews as well, but still, Islam's the famous one. Yet when the sheikh, the heroine's brother, got married, he married in Christian culture. Walking down the aisle, best men and stuff.. I mean, hello? There's no walking down the aisle, in Islam's wedding?
All I'm trying to say is, it would be lovely if the author did some research first before writing this kind of story with this kind of Hero. It's like, she's trying to write about Japan but still put Dollar as their official money. It's not Dollar, it's Yen.
So overall, the plot's intriguing but the execution is poor. I don't feel the chemistry between the main characters and the plot itself could be so much better than this.
Isla has been given by her brother, Rashad, to Shielk Hussan to be his wife. She has heard how horrible he is and is very unhappy with the arrangement! She takes it upon herself to see what this country and these people think about Sheik Hussan! You must read Elizabeth Lennox's book to see the outcome! I loved it!
Omg what a awful book! Writing disaster, no emotions no story telling.Story could be good if writer did the job and learned about stuff she is actually writing! There is nothing invested in this book and just wondering who let this be published! Waste of money waste of time.
A good book Elizabeth. I liked the idea of the tile once again. I don't remember the cover of the book looking like this book mind you. I liked the people in the book too.
