Originally appeared in the e-book anthology Royal Weddings and in The Capture of the Earl of Glencrae.

She planned every wedding of importance…but never her own.
Was that now about to change?

Beautiful Lady Margaret Dawlish, the daughter of a duke, is proud to plan the ton's most important weddings—including that of a prince! But now it's Lady Margaret who falls in love, with dashing Gaston Devilliers, the Duke of Perigord. This breathtaking man always ends up where he wants to be—and, in this case, that means in Margaret's arms! And, suddenly, her best-laid plans to guard her heart come completely undone.

Stephanie Laurens was born in Sri Lanka, which was at the time the British colony of Ceylon. When she was 5, her family moved to Melbourne, Australia, where she was raised. After continuing through school and earning a Ph.D. in Biochemistry in Australia, Stephanie and her husband moved to Great Britain, taking one of the last true overland journeys from Katmandu to London.

Once in London, Stephanie and her husband both began work as research scientists in Kent. They lived in an area surrounded by history. Their own cottage was built in the 16th century, while next door were the protected ruins of an early Roman villa, and nearby was a 14th century castle.

After four years in England, Stephanie and her husband returned to Australia, where she continued to work in cancer research, eventually heading her own research laboratory. One evening Stephanie realized that she did not have any more of her favorite romance novels to read. After years of thinking about writing her own novel, during nights and weekends for the next several months, she began crafting her own story. That manuscript, Tangled Reins, was the first of her books to be published. After achieving a level of success with her novels, Stephanie "retired" from scientific research and became a full-time novelist. Her novels are primarily historical romances set in the Regency time period.

Stephanie and her husband live on peaceful acreage on the outskirts of Melbourne. If she isn't writing, she's reading, and if she's not reading, she's tending her garden.

A short romantic trip

A sweet story of two strong willed people who come together to make a strong future together. A short but remarkable read.

This was exactly what I needed to read right now. A light, fluffy read that was all happily ever afters with no seriousness.

Far too brief, so I didn't feel anything about this romance. It just flew by.

This might have been more compelling if there was something more about their past.

Author: Stephanie Laurens
First published: 2011 in multi-author anthology Royal Weddings, and in Laurens' The Capture of the Earl of Glencrae
Length: 1321 kindle locations (short novella)
Setting: 1820, London. Regency
Sex: Behind closed doors.
Heroine: 28yo, fiance died at Waterloo, now organises society weddings.
Includes: Excerpts from The Lady Risks All, The Edge of Desire, The Reckless Bride.

Originally published in a compilation inspired by the the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton, "The Wedding Planner" is a sweet but completely unrealistic short novella. Nice characters and story but so unlikely even I couldn't sufficiently suspend disbelief.

Lacks depth. Lacks follow through. Lacks believability.

Almost as much page time spent on excerpts as story. (I didn't know I was purchasing your ads).

Disappointing.

Things I would have rather spent my 99 cents on, in no particular order:

1. A fountain Coke from McDonalds.
2. A cute cardboard box from the dollar aisle at Target.
3. A download of "Carry On, My Wayward Son" by Kansas in the iTunes store.
4. Three minutes of vacuum time at the car wash.
5. Four gumballs.

This was a colossal waste of time and money.

I enjoyed the book very much, the characters were likable, the friction between the two main characters was a lot of fun.
What I didn't like was the book was far too short, it lacked a epilogue which ties up all the loose ends ( relationship, courtship, future )
I would like to read about about them visiting other characters in another book from the Author.

This was a short story that was included in The Capture of the Earl of the Glencrae. It is under 100 pages good story for a short story still story was quick and easy read and character driven it was sweet and simple. Basic story the oldest daughter of a duke lost her fiance during war and she becomes a wedding planner and gets second chance at love no big mystery no angst just sweet
