In Deadly Relations, a serial killer of young women hides in plain sight in a quiet county in the Midwest. He hides behind a friendly face that inspires trust, a personality that is charming and persuasive — and has a rage to kill he can't control.
Detective Jennifer Brennan, still haunted by her abduction five years before, devotes her life to serve and protect others. So when three young women go missing and are found murdered on her watch, she vows to find the killer — or die trying.
A personal relationship with her partner, Detective Blake Stone, would be violating the strictest of the department's unspoken rules and career suicide, especially since she is the sheriff's daughter. But the connection Jennifer has with her partner, Blake Stone, is nothing short of electric. Working with him daily and denying her attraction is hard. But when he moves in to protect her, it becomes unbearable.
As they fight temptation, two detectives race against time to find the killer before he strikes again. It is the most important case of their careers. It could be their last.

Having already read the prior 2 books, I was so eager for the third installment for this series. I was definitely not disappointed except that I will have to wait until March for the next book! Jennifer, the heroine, really pulled at my heart strings in the second book. This poor woman suffered so much in the second book. I was thrilled to know that there was someone out there for her. In the first few chapters, we catch up with Jennifer only to discover that she has went through more than we were led to believe in the second book. However, being the fighter that she is, she struggled through and overcame the obstacles. I really admired this character and related to her fairly easily. Her lover interest, Blake Stone, also piqued my interest. I loved that we get to catch up with characters from past books and meet new ones. The world that Alexa grace portrays is a very real one that will entice any reader to keep reading. Similar to the other books in the series, I finished this book in one sitting. I found it impossible to put it down. I just had to see what happened with all of the characters. I am highly anticipating for the next one!! Kudos for Alexa Grace!!
Each book in this trilogy just gets better. Deadly Relations is my overall favorite. While I enjoyed the first two novels, this book ‘s storyline kept me hooked. This story has some jaw dropping, surprising twists that I certainly didn’t expect.
This isn’t a “whodunit” mystery. Readers discover early in the story the identity of the serial killer, so the majority of the read is to find out who will become the next victim and how this overconfident killer can be caught.
There are three point-of-views used to tell the story: the police detectives Jennifer and Blake who have a strong attraction to one another, as well as the antagonistic murderer. Having the killer’s perspective explaining what drives his motivation to kill only increases the complexity of the story and heightens the suspense.
Jennifer is a strong, gutsy character and very likeable. Blake is a wonderful partner for Jennifer in more ways than one. I did find the violence in the book gruesome and sometimes hard to get through because the detailed description of the torture the victims endured.
This is a great trilogy for readers who enjoy mysteries full of romance and suspense.
Deadly Relations by author Alexa Grace, is the third and final instalment in the Deadly Trilogy. If you have read the first two books Deadly Offerings and Deadly Deception, you need to complete the series. This was her best book in the series and I eagerly await more from her in the future.
Five years ago, vivacious Jennifer Brennan’s story began in Deadly Deception. She was pregnant and in College. Now, she is a talented and driven Detective in a small town of Indiana. Her intelligence and tenacity has gained respect from her peers, and her dark brush with danger five years prior, compassion and courage.
And then there’s Blake Stone! How could she have not noticed the tall, dark ‘Mr Hotness’, fellow Detective and the man who creates tingly sensations all over her body merely by breathing in her presence! He was not obnoxious or overbearing, but he did scream testosterone! Yet, it was actually the warmth and sincerity of his smile coupled with his innate empathy and strength that impressed her most. In many ways, this caused more danger for her. After all, it is extremely difficult to resist tall, dark and delicious when combined with smart, kind and tender! Sigh!
Ripped, gorgeous and devastatingly sexy, Blake was just as enamored by the beautiful Jennifer. He was also just as aware that as she was a Detective in the same Police Department, she was forbidden fruit. Growing up in a house shredded by Divorce, he desired stability, a home rich in love and trust. From observing and working with Jennifer, particularly in the Serial Killer case, which brought them into closer proximity, he could actually envision such an existence.
Once presented with the opportunity to taste a small slice of heaven in her kisses, he knew he was lost. Not to lust, but to need. “He wanted her in his life. Period.” This was actually a refreshing difference to many other Romance novels, consistent in all three books.
That is not to say that once ignited, their passion was less than hot. Blake was the first man in five years that Jennifer had been attracted to. Erotic dreams filled with Jennifer had been part of Blake’s nighttimes for quite a few years, so their passion together, once unleashed, was dynamic.
In Deadly Relations, there is a disturbed and sick serial killer stalking young women. What makes for a very interesting read is that you were privy to the killer’s thoughts, motivations and darkness. His identity is not the mystery, but you are kept invested on how and if he will be brought down. Naturally, as with all good suspense, this sicko sets his nefarious sights on Jennifer, adding to the tension.
Alexa Grace is one of the most talented, upcoming authors. Her characters are believable and strong, her stories credible, her writing, fabulous. She has an easy to read style that provides enough details without being overtly graphic.
So, if you are in the mood for some light suspense, some sensual loving with a touch of humor, you are bound to enjoy Deadly Relations.
A local woman disappears while jogging in a state park. When her body is found a week later, Detective Jennifer Brennan is working the case. As she investigates the murder, Jennifer becomes the target of the killer. Her father, Sheriff Tim Brennan, makes sure she has protection at all times and assigns Detective Blake Stone to stay glued to her side. Blake doesn't mind this assignment at all since he has been attracted to Jennifer since he first met her five years ago.
The third book in Alexa Grace's Deadly Trilogy is actually the best of the bunch. Jennifer is finally ready to move on from the awful things that happened to her five years ago (see book 2). Blake has been interested in Jennifer for a long time, but he never thought she would return his feelings. I liked both Jennifer and Blake and thought they fit well together. The killer in this book is truly scary. Even though we learn his identity early in the story, it didn't detract from the suspense.
My biggest problem with this book was that there were too many similarities to the previous stories in the series. And I had to laugh when the heroine even had the same TSTL moment in this book as the heroine in the last. I had to lower my overall rating because of lack of originality. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
Superbly written, the author moves the mystery from a who did it, to what will they do next, as the reader is experiencing the killer’s point of view throughout the book. As the horrific murders take place, you are left with the frustration and awe of the killer’s ability to commit and get away with murder. The story begins with Jennifer and Blake, police detectives in a small Indiana town. Faced with the daunting task of hunting a serial killer, they wrestle with temptation and their attraction for one another to focus on solving the crime and protecting their community.
This is the third book in the Deadly Trilogy. Having not read the first two books in the series, I had moments where I felt reading those would have benefitted this story, but it can be read as a stand-alone. Exciting, gripping, raw and sexy, Alexa Grace has penned a thrilling story that will keep you turning the pages after you lock the door.
I was provided a copy of the book by BTS eMag for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review – all conclusions are my own responsibility.
I loved Alexa Grace's third installment "Deadly Relations." Ms. Grace's ability to spin a story holds the reader's attention. In this book, detectives are searching for a serial killer with "mommy issues."
What I especially liked was the way Alexa allows you inside the head of the killer. You read this thoughts, you know his history and his plans. You become a part of what happens next and are powerless to stop it.
Through the detectives in the book, you are allowed an inside look at how they put their facts together to try to figure out the killer's next move. And, oh yes, don't forget the love story that is brewing between the two main characters. These are characters who deserve their "happily ever afters."
Her writing style is comfortable and easy. She is able to make her stories "page turners" that you better sleep well before you start because just may have to stay up all night to read. But before you do, double check the doors and windows are locked and don't open the door to strangers.
When I realized at the end of Deadly Deception that the heroine was going to be Jennifer Brennan I wasn’t thrilled. Authors often have a difficult time turning a victim into an expectable heroine - but Ms. Grace has done just that. Despite Jennifer’s tragic past her character is my favorite; her passion toward finding justice for the victims is not based solely on her own experiences but, seems far deeper than that.
I had been anxiously waiting for the third book in the deadly trilogy and I was not disappointed. Deadly Relations grabbed me from the first page and I was unable to put it down!
The suspense of serial killer stalking young women and the race of Detective Jennifer and her partner Blake To capture him before he is able to kill again was riveting. The relationship between Jennifer and Blake kept you guessing would they fall for each other or stick with the strict protocols of their job about keeping their relationship professional.
I highly recommend this book, the whole series in fact, to anyone who enjoys suspense, thrill and hot romance thrown in. I am completely in love with this series and really sorry it is only a trilogy!
DEADLY RELATIONS by Alexa Grace is by far the best of the series. I had a hard time putting this story down. Detective Jennifer Brennan is on the hunt for a serial killer targeting young woman in her hometown. When the tables turn and the killer starts gunning for Jennifer, her gorgeous new partner, Blake Stone, heads the round the clock personal protection by moving in with her. I really enjoyed having old familiar characters pop in the story—most of which are major players. If you are a fan of the first two stories in the series, this is a must read!
WOW...Alexa Grace does it again!!! The final book of the Deadly Trilogy is hot! I couldn't put the books down, because it's a great mix of romance, suspence, and gripping. You fall in love with the characters, and don't want the book to end. I would SO love to see this trilogy become a movie...just a thought! :) Alexa Grace did it yet again, and I can't wait for the next series!! She has definitely become my favorite author!
Liked this book the best of the trilogy...while it definitely had more story-line going on and at times I found it a little more challenging to keep track of everyone, I liked the plot more. There were quite a few more characters introduced in this book, and at times I wondered if it was in order to do a spin off series....in the end, I found out this was the case!
Looking forward to the spin-off series due out in the spring!
I totally loved this book! I think this is the best of the trilogy! It was great to see the characters from the first 2 books. This bad guy was super creepy and I couldn't wait to see him caught! Jennifer and Blake were great together! My only problem is this is only 3 books...I want more! Can't wait to see what you have in store for your next book!!!
Alexa Grace has done it again, this was thrilling book! Jennifer and Blake's story was wonderful! Jennifer was a character that I found myself really for! Her story really tugged at my heart! But the killer in this story talked about twisted...wow!This was definetly another page turner for me and extremely hard to put down! This is another must read!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a great story, I was hoping it would be more of a mystery. The reader found out fairly early who the killer was, but the charaters in the story didn't know. That didn't ruin the story for me, but I found myself getting annoyed with the characters for not figuring it out sooner.
I won this book from goodreads. It was a great book!
The moment I started reading book I fell in love with Blake, to me he seemed to be the perfect guy. The murders in this book gave me chills going down my spine because they were written with such descriptive details that I couldn't help but imagine what the murder scenes looked like. One of my favorite books by far.
This is the story of Blake and Jennifer. Jennifer was a big part of book 2 but it is now 5 years later. These stories are very brutal in the serial killer and how he kills his victims. It feels more like a mystery than a romance, which is a refreshing change. I will definitely be keeping my eye on this author.
This was an excellent book. It balanced mystery and romance perfectly. The psychological look into the killer's mind always adds a twist. I am sad to see the series end but look forward to when Alexa Grace's new series comes out. I will definitely be purchasing more of her books.
Great! Amazing book the whole series is wonderful!! Would have loved a little more at the end. I hope to see all the cast in the series pop up on future books.
