So.. this was a cute and playful little novella 🤭 Caleb & jj <3 caleb had me blushing lol he was all sunshine and she was all grumpy and it worked. I only wish there was alittle more to this because it ended and I was all like thats it?🧍🏻♀️it needed more “research scenes” also kinda want a book for Justine and Trevor as I need to know what happened between them??

i was gna give it a generous 3 but … icl there was more negative than positive. the smut was not really giving. the chemistry was meh. the dialogue felt very abrupt at times. it was kinda boring. and the third act was just criminal. caleb was kinda hot tho so at least theres that??

I guess Caleb and his 15-million-dollar dick only worth my 2 stars 😗 This was cute and enjoyable but the smut was a bit cringe for my liking. I don't even know when they went from friends to fake dating each other to falling in love with each other. It just happened?
Also why the hell was there a third act breakup in this 100 pages novella? I get it that he was scared of losing his best friend and the her family that also became his family but they could've just talked. But whatever everything was well in the end because you can't expect Josephine to lose Caleb and his magical 15-million-dollar dick after being dicked down, spanked and possibly all the things that she made her "research list" for.

Caleb and JJ are seriously the cutest and most intriguing pair ever!This book was such a treat to read🤭The humor in this books is absolutely on point. I love it when a book can make me laugh and giggle along with the characters. The smut was top tier wish there where more smut scenes😏

Not much to say about this one other than it's a short novella which focuses on author Josephine and NFL player Caleb. Tropes are friends to lovers and fake dating.
Disappointed because I absolutely love fake dating but there's so many other books that do this better (Blind Side by Kandi Steiner - I know this is a full book you could easily make that a novella as well for the sake of comparison).
Caleb was kind of cute but I just found it way too cringy and insta love. I know it's a novella so you lose a lot of the build up but it just seemed like one minute they are friends, then lovers for "research" for her new adult fantasy book and then instantly in love with each other. As a reader you just didn't feel the FMC's feelings evolve at all. I actually thought I missed some pages when she confessed her love to him? But nope it just happened suddenly. Don't even get me started on the third act break up 90 pages into a 107 page novella?! Why the author thought that was necessary I have no idea.
I was here for the smut but this was also pretty cringy and could have been way better. Felt like it was over before it even started. The most interesting part of this book was the reference to Caleb's 15 million dollar dick.
I didn't really feel anything while reading this book. 2 stars because Caleb knows how to look after a woman but tbh most of it was just the bare minimum.

Sometimes I have problems sensing the chemistry in novellas, but not here, these two have lots. They joke around and are believable as friends, and then when they (finally) move on to lovers it clicks even better.
I was expecting there to be more steam, based on the dedication, but the amount we got was enough for me.

An adorable and steamy romance novella about a best-selling author who is in need of some help because she currenlty has a writer's block. Who volunteers as tribute? Her best friend, NFL football player Caleb, who is so very hot and handsome and who also needs help in the form of a fake girlfriend (for good publicity). So, what should they do if not help each other out and maybe they might just fall for each other in the process.
Thank you again to my friend Taima @shadesnpages because she reviewed this book on her IG (follow her!). I was so very intriguied and interested with the plot and Taima loved it so I just knew I would love it too because we do have similar taste. And yeah, after reading it, I can say that I highly recommend this novella and everyone who wants a sports romance with best friends to lovers trope, this book is going to satisfy that need.
I love that they have such a goofy and fun relationship. They are constantly playful and cute whenever they are together, even when he's at practice and she accompanies him, they're playing around and everyone knows she's his bestie. His coach even loves her and skjndfjdf like they fit together so well in each other's lives. Her parents? Like they see him as a son and they even go TOGETHER TO PLAY LASER-TAG AND THEY TEAM UP AGAINST HER PARENTS LMAO. That scene was hilarious!
So when they kiss and start to fake date, no one... LITERALLY no one questions it. Everyone is like "oh finally!" "it's about time" and so on lmao. They're so confused because they truly just thought of each other as best friends. But tbh deeply inside, tucked away years ago, this romantic feeling makes itself present when things start heating up and becoming so much more than pretending to be in a relationship just for show.

I love me a good friends to lovers read, and this one was perfecto! Caleb and JJ were more than best friends from the beginning, they just weren't getting it in! 😂 They were everything to each other already, and this "fake" relationship was right on time. These two were hysterical! I loved their playful banter, and how Caleb was so close to JJ's parents. Both burying their feelings as to not ruin their friendship, but that chemistry was bubbling underneath the surface all along. When it was time to "research" Caleb did not come to play! 🔥JJ got all the information she needed for her book, and then some!
I felt for Caleb as he allowed his fear of abandonment to almost derail his life with JJ. I was glad that he was able to talk it out, receive the support he needed to get his girl. Cute, fun, sexy read. Enjoyed it! 👍👍👍

This was a refreshing story!! I loved the friends to lovers trope. I can appreciate why Caleb was apprehensive about losing his family if things didn’t work out but it was clear that Josephine was it for him. What did Drake say, she wasn’t with him shooting in the gym- except she was there through it all! 🙌🏾🤭good read for me and it was spicy, lol 😝

this could've been really good, but the last few chapters of the book started getting really boring and the third act breakup was js unnecessary 😒

Spicy yet so cute. Loved this friends to lovers trope, and especially loved how she was a creative.

MIDD !! The plot had potential and I understand these are characters that are best friends but the romance aspect of their relationship could have been better. Because the romance was lacking it just felt like best-friends hunching 🤷🏽♀️. Also I feel like it could have been more spicer and we never got to see what JJ written for this new book.

This was really cute for a novella. This ain’t for the stick girlies lol the dialogue can be questionable at times and the setup for the plot was a little wonky but with only 122 pages I expected that. I enjoyed Josie’s humor and the dynamic between her, Caleb and the family. This was the perfect quick read to get me through my hair appointment, and I was surprised she was able to round out the plot the way she did- a very satisfying read overall.

The author’s note said that this book has just enough plot to get into the spicy scenes. I’m so glad she provided that warning. It helped me to temper my expectations. There was a cute premise. I didn’t love the execution at times. I’m not a fan of fake romance tropes, but the friends to lovers sports romance was right up my alley. The couple’s long lasting bond was sweet. I also enjoyed how everyone around them was so supportive of their union. There was enough of a plot for me. It definitely got spicy too. This was a quick, easy read.

Super cute. Fake dating. Friends with benefits. Friends to lovers. The chemistry was there. These characters are so dramatic and I loved it!! The conflict escalated rather abruptly for me but it is a novella.
