Controlled by the Alpha

Rate this book
** Please note that this title is intended for audiences age(s) 18 & older.**

Barrett grew up in a pack that never accepted him. His position as pack beta had no impact on their opinions of him either.

It took six months under the rule of a new alpha before he left it all behind and happened upon his mate.

Past the age most werewolves find a mate, Drew assumed he wouldn’t be granted one… until he scented Barrett.

But what do you do with a mate that refuses to accept his future with you because of his past? If you’re a dominant alpha like Drew, you force him to surrender it all to you.

I was born and raised in Charleston, SC, but now live in the hottest place on earth: Orlando, FL. I have three beautiful children who keep me running non-stop. When I'm not juggling life and kids, you'll find me huddled away somewhere writing my next book or happily reading someone else's. Like most authors I've come across, I'm a coffee addict, own far too many books than I can fit on my shelves, and I go to work in my pajamas a lot.

Loved that explanation, and that’s exactly what the book tries to teaches us.

F*ck! This woman knows how to write... This Is beautiful, almost lyrically, I think, and the message touches my heart.
I think I highlighted almost the whole book. And it was quite short!
Definitely a full review to come!

This adult (over 18) is definitely not for every one. It is m/m and that is something some people just are not interested in. To be honest, it is not my thing either, but I love Christin's books and the way she creates characters that are unlike those in most books, so I gave it a try. I really enjoyed it. I do not have any idea if the "adult" part of this book is good or accurate as I am not a guy, but I will say that I beyond enjoyed reading their inner thoughts through out this novella. I think, however, my favorite part of this novella was when the Alpha first introduced his mate to his Beta. The reaction filled me with happy. It was how, I believe it should be. You do not need to read this book to keep up with the series. They are all complete stories in and of themselves and so far, no characters have overlapped.

The story felt rushed to me. Also, Drew didn't come across as a Dom or controlling but more as a Pushy top wanting his way... there is a difference

Barrett had his insecurities and I loved how Drew was able to draw him out of his shell and help him heal.

As a whole this series is about being comfortable in your own skin. Weather your extra curvy or your boat floats a different way no matter who you are you deserve to be happy and find love and that's what these stories are all about. With a slew of hunky alpha males who were willing to help each heroine see the true beauty in themselves. I loved this series as a whole and how each story had a different way each alpha was able to show their mate that they were beautiful not in spite of but because of their curves. "The definition of beauty is different to everyone, just as our ideas of perfection are different" (Two times the Charm) Some of these heroines were afraid to allow themselves to think that someone could love them as they were and I loved how the alpha's were able to reassure their mates of their worth and learn how to be happy with themselves without fear. "Fear never encourages freedom; it supports oppression. It is those that live with no fear that achieve the most." (Two Times the Charm)

Loved how their paranormal aspect was incorporated in this series and I can't wait to read more!

Controlled By The Alpha
By Christin Lovell

This was my first book by this author. It was wonderfully written, but a lot of Barrett's past was left out. Including a pretty important part of how he'd killed his pack alpha before he left and the exact circumstances behind his actions. Things were vaguely implied, but no full examples were given. I thought after he mated with Drew he would tell him at least some of what he'd gone through, but he didn't. The book would've been a solid 5 star if it had been expanded on.

Another short novella, but still loved it.
I like the fact that the author is able to "change things up" a bit with the m/m version in this series. This has a great story line, as we know, not everyone is open to the gay lifestyle. She has managed to tell the tale as it should be, that everyone should be able to love and be loved, regardless of their sexuality, and it should be enjoyed without the pressures of others views. Well done

Almost missed out

I almost didn't read this one because M/M isn't my thing but after reading the teaser in the previous book, I was hooked. Barrett and Drew's story was so well written, I forgot about my apprehension and just enjoyed the love. I truly felt the hurt in Drew and it felt as if I was in the story when he had his breakthrough. Well done, Christin! Can't wait to read the next

Brave writing. A positive message. Love sees your soul, your heart and your body. The mind is the real travesty in love. Learning to take control over your Believed ideals is the key to True happiness. Only you can allow judgement of others. I defy anyone to not see the lust, love and risk in this novella. If only the 'world' could get over its self and allow love to conquer ridiculous prejudice.

I can say after the first two installment in the Alpha Dom series, I certainly wasn't expecting this but it was pretty good and VERY unique. I'm not much of a fan of this certain book but I was pretty enthralled. *blushes*

Pretty much the same story but different people. Only difference is MM instead of MF. with a slightly different start and been MM the basic story's the same. Personally overpriced due to lack of different storyline and not a lot of pages.

This book is an amazing read. I loved how well this book was written and how well the characters were developed. This book is a fast read and one that I know I will be able to read again and again. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I'm quickly finding out that each book in this series has not character development as well as plot development.

2.5 stars rounded up

Not terrible, still short and rushed, but better than some m/m I've read, especially considering I think this is her first try.

Not a bad book

This book wasn't too bad, the plot was cookie cutter and the characters somewhat rounded. The heavy Dom act and the PSA. we're a little much.

Sometimes you run right into who you mever thought you'd find. This is a quick hot read about a young were who had to be taught to love himself by someone who loved him, his mate. Enjoy I did.
