Preface; The Marxist doctrine (Philosophical Materialism, Dialectics, the Materialist Conception of History, the Class Struggle); Marx's Economic Doctrine (Value, Surplus Value); Socialism; Tactics of the Class Struggle of the Proletariat; Bibliography; Notes.
Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, better known as Vladimir Lenin, was a Russian revolutionary, leader of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks), statesman and political theorist. After the October Revolution he served as the first and founding head of government of Soviet Russia from 1917 until his death in 1924 and of the Soviet Union from 1922 until his death in 1924.
This succinct work written by Lenin is an obscure summarization of Marxism and its various tenants. It's written simply and covers with great knowledge the tenants to socialism while also covering some of Marx's life. Additionally, there is a bibliography of recommended reading for the various topics of Marxist analysis. I believe this work is worth the quick read and would be a useful supplement to someone not well acquainted with Marxist theory.
