Rebecca Wilcox’s curiosity about the disturbance of old grave overcomes her fear of the cemetery’s reputation for being haunted. After all, she’s in college now. Armed with only a name and some dates, her search leads her to sophomore Olivia Harmon.
Olivia is equally curious about the grave and its occupant, but it’s not just an exercise in research to her. Family secrets—new and old—are buried in that grave. Used to hiding her sexuality to keep the peace, Olivia balks at more lies, and her already fractured family falls apart. Her friendship with Rebecca, however, only deepens.
Comforted and distracted by their feelings, Rebecca and Olivia might even give up their quest, until a final clue and a shocking revelation turns what they thought they knew upside down.

SL Harris lives in rural Missouri with her partner of many years. A physical therapist and long-time reader, her vision began to diminish and she lost access to her beloved books. After several surgeries, much of her vision was restored. She began reading again, discovered the world of lesbian fiction and began to write her own stories.
Unbelievably "tell" writing. Seriously, as I was reading, I thought "I have never seen the likes of it before", then got to the next chapter and omfg, there it was again. Several bits of this book could be used as examples for writing flaws, which was frustrating because the plot was interesting and original for the genre. Alas, it all came down to a didactic, overwrought slide into cliches and a pat ending. To be fair, these are not unusual flaws for YA books, and the book deserves major props for the plot.
It was an unspectacular read, no real hiccups and the problems got solved smoothly. The mystery was very predictable and the solution as expected. Overall a light story for a sunny afternoon.
