Packed with lavish full-color photography, Design & Details explores the many ways to bring life to your home, from making a splash with an unusual color of paint and changing the lighting scheme to laying down tiles and playing up architectural details. Every page will inspire design excellence.
I think I was attracted to the photo on the front of this book, but alas it is not representative of the decorating ideas presented inside. It is hard to objectively review a book when you think the interiors presented are generally garish and overdone. Frankel presents a wide variety of architectural styles from traditional to modern but they are all large, pretentious homes. I was looking for some sweet, serviceable architectural details that were simple, but if they were there it was hard to find them.
