Here's where the story ramps into high gear. All that's come before was merely prologue for what unfolds in the final 2 volumes.

The Trip to Hell Begins...

With the return of the Dove (God), Heaven's ruling elite (led by the noble Safiyya bint Sabir) chooses a team for their expedition into the Underworld.

Heading up that roster is new arrival Dayson Snow, who against his better judgment agrees to lead their troupe into the most dangerous landscapes of Hell, in search of answers to a crisis that has the Afterlife reeling.

But none in their troupe is prepared for what they uncover there...

(The following is the full synopsis for all 3 volumes of STRING OF PEARLS.)

What if HEAVEN turned out to be just as dangerous as HELL?

Intrepid adventurer, Dayson Snow, has spent his life battling the greed of multinational corporations. When he arrives in Washington, DC with his long-time love, the spirited Yumi Mihara, he finds himself in a race to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Africa.

But Dayson's plans go awry when he accidentally crosses paths in DC with hired killer Jean LaFourche, the recent recipient of a strange and macabre miracle... and in his attempt to stop LaFourche's latest assassination, Dayson pays with his life.

But his real troubles have only begun...

Dayson awakens in an Afterlife that's in even worse shape than the world he left behind, where he's forced to serve the whims of the citizens of Heaven, even as their high kingdom faces an alarming crisis... Legions of the Damned have been mysteriously loosed upon Creation, and the upper realms are increasingly desperate.

Hoping that if he can somehow put right the problem he might possibly win back his old life and return to Yumi, Dayson agrees to lead a band of heavenly comrades on a harrowing descent into Hell. But when the troupe sets off on their perilous and terrifying journey, they discover an Underworld unlike anything ever imagined...

And as Dayson descends ever deeper into Hell, toward its darkest and most violent heart--fighting his own personal demons, and sensing his memories of Yumi and their love together beginning to dissolve within him--he makes a shocking discovery... one in which the fate of every soul that has ever lived lies in the balance.

A multi-layered cross-genre tale that goes from earth to heaven to hell. Rich with symbolism and a sharp view of life and the afterlife. I don't usually enjoy fantasy tales, but I really loved this.
