When Elvis Presley impersonator Harry Markham is shot dead in what appears to be a professional contract killing, it is a crime custom-made for the tabloid front pages. Detectives Luke Templeman and Simone Tandy are assigned to the case and find themselves drawn into the unique show business world of the Presley fakes. Superficially, the victim seems to have been a loving husband and father, but Templeman and Tandy soon start to uncover the darker side to Markham's suburban life. Methodically unearthing clues, the detectives discover a blackmail scam, a mistress, a mysteriously altered will, and a killer on the loose.
