Sparks fly when Brad and Alexis meet. Brad is the new heir to Reinehart Industries, and Alexis is a cynical college drop-out.
They live in completely different worlds, and under normal circumstances, their passionate encounters might have been shelved as "mistakes". But circumstances are far from normal, and Brad has plans that could change both their lives - if only he can convince Alexis to come along for the ride.
Alicia Roberts has always enjoyed writing. She believes in "happily ever after", true love triumphing, and everyone getting what they deserve - and she tries to make sure it happens, at least in her fiction.
Alicia loves animals, coffee, cake and laughter. She is happily married and enjoys spending time with her husband. She loves traveling and currently lives in Melbourne, Australia. You can find her on Twitter at https://twitter.com/AliciaRRoberts, where she enjoys chatting with her readers.
Phew! This was hot! Alexis Jones is a college-dropout, working as a receptionist at a law firm. She doesn't have a life outside of the office. A few broken hearts too many have made her cynical. When the firm's most important client walks in the door, she has no idea just how drastically her world is about to change.
Brad Reinehart is the heir to his deceased grandfather's empire. Along with inheriting the family business, he also inherited a problem. When he meets Alexis for the first time, he can't help but act on his attraction towards her. She just may be the answer to his problems.
This was a very short story, so we get to the nitty gritty very quickly. Alexis is swiftly and easily seduced by the handsome and powerful CEO. And why not? The way he looks at her, the way his whispered words make her feel. She's a nobody compared to him, but he wants her. In a moment of what Alexis would probably term "temporary insanity", she gives herself over to him. Ms Roberts sure knows how to write some hot scenes!
The plot isn't anything new, or at least I wasn't surprised. However it definitely fit the pace at which they were traveling. I'm curious enough to want to know what happens next, and to get more Alexis and Brad time. The endings to their encounters were a little odd, almost clinical, and took them a few days to actually talk.
What didn't work for me is the fact that this (trilogy) is broken into three parts. I feel kind of boned. The second book is around 48 pages and the third book is around 41 pages. At $2.99 that just seems a little expensive for a 10 minute read. If each book featured a different couple and story, then I could understand splitting up the series. But this is about the same couple, beginning, middle and end, so why isn't this one complete novel? I can guess why. I have added the other two books to my TBR list, but until the price drops, I won't be in a hurry to read them. Sorry. Anyway, I really liked it, but I am deducting points because I don't appreciate the ploy to get me to spend nearly $6 for a few additional pages.
When I first start this book I thought... .How on earth is this author pulling off a happy ending with this short story...well duh.!!! There are two more books :S dumb me LOL. I found out today this book was an amazon freeby and couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the plot because Alexis is such an independent, humble woman, down to earth and doesn't expect anything further than sex with Brad. Maybe that´s why he is feels so attracted to her. She is not pretentious and she´s fine with having some good times with him. She knows he is a millionaire, billionaire to be and that she has no opportunity on having anything else than S E X...Great sex by the way with him. He on the other hand is rich and can give her the kind of opportunity that isn´t seen everyday.... What is going to happen?!! I can´t wait to read the next....
It was cute, but I felt it ended very abruptly. I think it could have stood stronger as two books, and not three. The characters were likeable, and the story had a wonderful flow. I would definitely recommend this story to others.
I've had this novella on my kindle since 2013 and seeing as I'm sorting through the books I have yet to read, I thought it was about time I read this one.
This hot quick read actually had a story that I liked rather than just a few pages of sex scenes. Of course this short story was an introduction and now the rest of the series has been withdrawn, which is a shame as I actually would have liked to have seen what happened next.
Alexis is a college drop out working as a receptionist for a law firm, she catches the eye of the firms biggest client Brad Reinehart who looks to Alexis to help him fulfill the requirements set by his grandfather when he died, that Brad would only inherit the company if he got Married within a year of his grandfathers death and remained married for a year.
Proposals is a novella, well written and the characters are engaging. However it could have earned five stars had it been longer with more character development. It seems to only touch the surface of the characters and I wanted more. The story is intriguing but it ends so abruptly.
This review is from: The Billionaire's Contract: Proposals (Kindle Edition)
Alexis is trying to get back on her feet after her mom's death, she has moved to N.Y. and is working as a receptionist. Brad a businessman takes notice of her, and sets up a couple meetings where things heat up and sparks fly.
Brad eventually tells the truth about his pursuit, he needs to be married to keep his family business. Very well written, solid story and interesting characters.
I really liked this book! It's a change from your typical Billionaire stories and I like the slow buildup. The chemistry between the two is palpable and I like the way the story was developed. You'll like this story if you're into hot alpha males and intelligent girls. Oh yea, that was the other thing - the girl in this book is smart and intelligent, not a doormat like in most other books. It's a steamy read ;)
This is really sad because I really wanted to like this book,I mean it seems like my kind of thing BUT the writing style was so so so annoying! I couldn't enjoy the story because of it ... and then as the book progressed the story became like this : The boss asks the receptionist to run some errand for the Billionaire saying he won't be there ,She goes and there he is ,they do IT!,he offers to drive her home she declines, says goodbye and flees home!
Short story or long story cut into sequels. I try to give the author the benefit of the doubt when I read their books. This one is stretching a three. Not much background, the characters are bland and the story a bit underdone. The sex scenes were interesting but all in all, it seems like the author just threw a bunch of stuff together and called it a book. Three stars for trying but I won't be reading the sequel.
This book was OK, I didn't really understand why this story had to be broken up into three different books. That was sort of annoying. There was a lack of feeling involved, they both seemed distant from each other, too afraid to let the other see their feelings. It was hard to connect with them emotionally.
Nice, quick read... I wish it were not in mini-series format though. Not enough of the story in the first segment to grab me and make me pay for the next segments. Great story idea but needs to be the whole thing to make it worth reading the next parts. Potential to be 4 or 5 stars but mini-series format makes it a three (and that is being generous).
1,5* ... Veľmi krátky prvý diel ešte kratšej trilógie. Hmm. Blbosť na entú. Všetko tam bolo veľmi rýchle oproti 300 stranovým knihám, ale o to by ani nešlo, ale nebolo v tom nič iskrivé. Chémiu som hlavnému páru neuverila ani za mák. Uvidím, čo prinesú zvyšné dva diely. Ale osobne počítam, že nič! :D :D
I guess what caught me about this series is that they were free, short stories, Erotica, and Billionaires.... I can't resist a good Billionaire Erotic Short story can you? Sparks fly when Brad and Alexis meet. Brad is the new heir to Reinehart Industries, and Alexis is a cynical college drop-out. Do you think they can love each other? This is just book 1....
This book was just ok. Interesting story line but had no real details. I really hated that it was broken up into 3 very short stories. If I'd have know that in the beginning I probably wouldn't have started it. But each ending left you hanging on.
The Billionaire's Contract: Proposals is a short story that starts a series about a young woman and a young billionaire, who makes a marriage proposal with a contract attached with a beginning and ending date after knowing each other two days.
Sometimes you just need a spontaneous moment with a hot blooded, hot body, who ends up wanting something completely different then what you expected. I did not see ending the way it did.
