Loving Summer #3

Perfect Summer

Rate this book
Two hot brothers, one steady and secured, groomed to take over their family’s billion dollar enterprise. The other, a rising football star whose body is well-known to women of all ages in print and in person. Both in love with the same woman, whom they can’t have – Summer Jones, their sister’s best friend since childhood, and the girl they promised to protect.

She’s never been so lost in her life, following the tragedy that rocked her steady and secured life. Always the perfect girl, the good girl who does everything to take care of everyone else, she’s now the one who’s fallen too far. Not Drew, not Nat, and not even Rachel. She knows she has to choose and make a decision. She knows she has to do the right thing, but as she decides with her mind, her heart rebels. Her desire for both Donovan brothers has grown insatiable and an addiction so much so that lines are blurred and nothing is clear. Just when everything seems bleak and hopeless, comes a revelation so deep, that what seems far from perfect becomes perfect in what turns out to be the Donovan’s most perfect summer.

A Classic Summer Read!
This series was my ADDICTION when it first came out. Now I am re-reading and binging on the entire series and its many spin-offs.

I am totally falling back in love with this series and all its beloved characters. One of my all time favorites!

May contain spoilers.

If you are reading this book or even thinking about reading this book then you have probably read the other books in this series. I’m not going to lie, I was ecstatic to get a chance to read this book. Why you ask? Nat. Nat Donovan. I was promised that there would be more Nat and let me tell you…Yes there was. In my head I was hearing Justin Timberlake’s song “bringing sexy back”. Nat brought the sexy. Now this doesn't mean that Drew is out of the game. Oh no, he’s still in it but he’s too back and forth. His theme song this time around was Katy Perry’s ” Hot and Cold”. Even Summer said he was hot and cold with his feelings. And Summer? OMG, she is getting on my last nerve with her indecision. I've always liked her as a character but this being in love with two hot guys, possibly three is wearing on me. Pick one already. Astor is still around. In fact, he looks to be a more permanent fixture around the area. Which is nice because Summer needs a friend. That’s right I said friend. Astor, in my mind, has been friend zoned. Welcome to the friend zone, Astor.

Let me break it down for you:
• If you love Nat you will be thrilled with how much there is of him in this book.
• Think about what happened at the end of the last book. Drew is dealing with his feelings and is all over the place. Nat finally lays his suspicions out there for Drew. Now Drew can deal with it in a healthier way. On a side note, I was right.
• Summer has been undecided with her feelings. She is with Nat for the most part but her heart is still questioning things. I was questioning her sanity. (Summer, you’re with Nat and you are questioning yourself. Please, for the love of God, knock it off). She is attracted to Drew and others see it. She does seem to come to an epiphany about which one is her love but it could be a matter of a little too late. Plus the way she copes with things at the end had me a little upset with her.
• In the last book Summer was bullied. In this one it hasn’t totally gone away. There is a guy that is stalking her and that leads to some intense moments. He says some things in his ramblings that Summer brushes off as the words of a crazy person. I don’t know. Could there be some truth to what he said? It would be interesting if there was.
• Another book by the Author is mentioned in this one and that was totally awesome. I haven’t read that one yet but I do have the first two books. I am going to have to read those.
• Another surprise is that one of her characters from another book steps in for a bit. Loved that and the connections he has to the Donovans and Astor.
• The ending? Just rip my heart out now and be done with it. It is up in the air as to what is happening with Nat. I’m holding out for some resolution but it sucks that I have to wait. I’m not giving up hope.
• Nat has got to be the most romantic guy. That letter he wrote was worthy of my tears. That’s right, I cried. I’m a big girl and I admit it.
• I could keep going with all my thoughts but you really need to read it for yourself.
You are either going to read this book because you have been following this series or your not. I am going to have to say read the book. It is my favorite for all the Nat…he is my Nat in shining armor.
My favorite lines:
“Hungry much?” Nat asked. I laughed. “Always for anything Nat-made.”

“What’s with the parade of hot men today?” Trish muttered. I smiled back at her. “Seems like they travel in packs.”

And because I am team Nat I am always looking for those who agree with me:
--This is straight from Rachel “If he wasn’t my brother, and if I wasn’t so into Ryan, I would pick Nat.”
-- “No, “ Drew said, looking pained and sad. “Nat has a lot of things he needs to tell you, Summer. It’s better if I don’t stay. You’ll want to spend some time with him, and for the first time in my life, Summer, I’m Team Nat.”

There you go. I have confirmation from Nat’s two siblings that Team Nat is the way to go.

I have loved this series by Kailin Gow from the very beginning!! And it just keeps getting better!!

Perfect Summer definitely had some surprises in store for me. There was a lot more mature scenes in this and I loved that. The characters are growing up and so is the series! Nat, Drew, and Astor are all still vying for Summer's attention as more than just friends. And Summer is moving towards one of them but still has deep rooted feelings for another one. But Summer has to deal with taking over the Academy and starting college all the while dealing with a nutty stalker. Nat is trying to continue with college and working with his father at Donovan Dynamics. And Drew is coming into his own but also enjoys being the new stud on campus - something he has a little experience with. And Astor has a few surprises up his sleeve too!!

Kailin does a superb job of keeping the story flowing smoothly and very interesting. I really like that she also mentioned a few of her others books in this book and adds them into the story line - that is absolutely genius!!

Perfect Summer is just that - PERFECT!

I can't wait to see what happen next with these characters!!

I'm very disappointed in this book. First off, I waited for this book to be release and dealt with 5 different release dates. Secondly, it felt like the book was rushed and not edited.

Ok now to the story; Summer grew up with the Donovan's family. Nat the older brother and the twins Drew and Rachel. Summer has had a crush on Nat most of her life. One summer Drew showed his true feelings for Summer and she ended up having feelings for him. In this story it seems to me she is very confused about her feelings for both brothers. To me she also seems to be leading them both on. This chick is something else because she has several men in love with her and it seems like she is leading them all on! (A movie star, 2 brothers, and even a stalkers.) I was thinking one way in the last 2 books (which I rated high stars) and this book went in a completely different way. I think I'm through with Summer and these crazy books. I'll wait for the trilogy of "Saving you Saving me" books and pray it won't suck!

This book starts off where the last book ends, with Drew finding Summer and Nat in bed together. From there it goes into the love triangle where summer is trying very hard to figure out her confusing feelings for the two and Drew is trying unsuccessfully to stand back and let her be with Nat. Not only that but she has feelings for Aster as well which are more a friendship than romantic love but Aster wants more. Not only is there a love triangle of sorts but there's also a lot more mystery involved in this story which keeps you on the edge of your seat. You're not going to want to put this book down but it ends all too soon with a cliffhanger that makes you wanna scream. The only problem I have with this book is there are a lot of errors as far as wording goes, that and the fact that I wish Summer would make a decision already!! LoL. Other than that it is a fantastic book and I would highly recommend it to those of you who have read the previous novels in this series! Thanks Kailin for a great read!

Nat and Summer are trying at the relationship and Drew is trying to be there as a friend (even though he loves her). Astor is still Summer's friend and hopes that there will be a future for them one day. I think Summer wants them all a little and can't decide on which one. Each time she is alone with one - she forgets about the other. Love - I don't think so - maybe LUST!!! Can't blame her though - from the description, I would be lusting after them too. It is not far to them though - like her stringing poor Drew along when he is trying to let her go- sort of. There is a stalker after Summer - that is a new twist. College life for Drew and Summer is interesting. The ending was a bit of a surprise. I hope Nat comes back - I love Drew and Summer maybe getting a chance but not at the expense of Nat being missing maybe died!

Can't wait for the next book.

So I enjoyed the book. Was it one if my favorites? No, but having invested time in the series I will continue to read them. I just wish Summer would choose already, as she is still continuing to lead Nat, Drew, and Astor on and is playing games with each of their hearts! However, I do have a soft spot for Drew and have from the beginning.
Not sure if others have noticed, or if it is the teacher in me, but the grammar and editing throughout not just this book, but the entire series is atrocious! It took everything I had not to take a red pen, mark all the errors, and send it back to the company. My roommate has said this is normal for books being told in the first person, but I read a lot of books and have never, ever seen so many mistakes with grammar and word usage.
Hopefully the next book gets better!

One word: Pick already! Yes I will continue this series until the end. Yes I love this series more than words can express. Summer? Pick a guy though. I love Nat and Drew both so much, but I would personally go with Drew. Why? Because he has loved you from the beginning and didn't play with your heart like Nat. Movie star boy? Gone!!! I love him, but you already have enough trouble with two guys, why bring in a third? Katilin Gow has been able to write another amazingly addicting read to her Loving Summer series. *Patiently, not so patiently waiting for the next*. That ended was just wow. So quick and unexpected...but does this leave some time for Drew to make a move? Swoon <3

After such a huge loss Summer feels kind of lost into herself. The love triangle continues between herself, Nat and Drew. Summer seems wishy washy between the two brothers- Nat she has loved all her life and Drew suddenly is so appealing to her and both in love with her.
Interesting where the writer takes us on this journey leading us right into the next book.

Can't believe one girl can play with the lives and emotions of three guys, especially as two are brothers. Is this how the girls of today behave?

Hate the main character. What she is doing to these 2 bothers just turned me right off. She doesn't deserve either of them. Officially stopped reading series.
