I am kind of confused about my rating for this book, some things I liked it and some not so much.
The heroine Ming wants to have a baby so she asks her best friend Jason to help in a clinical way. Jason and Ming have been friends forever even though there was a time when she had a wicked crush on him, but seeing his father attempt to kill himself after his mom died has made Jason vow never to fall in love and Ming has observed his lady killer ways. So, Ming got involved with his brother, even getting engaged, but six months ago his brother called off the wedding because he suddenly didn't want kids.
Jason suggests they conceive the old fashioned ways. I loved seeing Ming's reservations and reaction to this. She didn't want to lose her best friend for sex meanwhile Jason was more of a guy who wanted to finally explore the chemistry between them thinking nothing would change. One thing that I disliked in the book was that the heroine's sister and her ex-fiancee get involved. I kind of felt the explanations given were not satisfactory for this.
But overall I liked the romance.

Good book. Ming was tired of trying to find true love but still wanted a family of her own. So she has decided to go ahead with a plan for single motherhood. Problem is, she doesn't really want to go with an anonymous sperm donor, so she asks her best buddy Jason. They have been friends for most of their lives. When she puts the proposition to Jason he agrees - but he wants to make the baby the natural way. Ming has cared for Jason in ways far stronger than just friendship for a long time but she knows he isn't interested in falling in love and settling down. As soon as they make their friendship physical she knows she's in trouble. She finally admits to herself that she's been in love with Jason for a long time and she wants her own happy ending with him. Jason cherishes his friendship with Ming. He has sworn never to open himself up to the risk of devastating loss by falling in love. He has seen too many people made miserable by that emotion. When he makes his bargain with Ming he thinks of it as his chance to satisfy his curiosity about the physical attraction he feels for her. He refuses to see that the feelings he has are actually love and works hard to convince her and himself that it is only friendship. I loved seeing him fight against the inevitable and how everyone but him could see what was happening. Watching him finally admit the truth was very satisfying. I also loved seeing the Case brothers again and the scene with Jason and Max's car was great.

2.5 star really, just way too much of a fairytale to digest.

At the end of the novel the only thing I thought of was: "If only life were like that!" because lets face it, it's not. This book felt so damn phony and fake sometimes that I wanted to kick the author. If I just went along with the whole story and didn't particularly give a damn, the story was pretty good.

I love the idea of a book about two people who are best friends for years, falling in love. It is the best. The only problem with these books, is they are too short. They are nice quick reads, but I like more, but it was still a good read.

Ming, si heroine.. baru 6bln diputusin tunangannya pas 2 minggu sebelum merit, dengan alasan Ming pengen punya baby sementara Evan, si tungangan kaga mau punya anak.
Cita-cita Ming adalah menjadi seorang ibu, setelah 2th bertunangan dan akhirnya ttp kaga jadi merit, Ming berkeyakinan ude ga ada deh romance2nan dalam hidupnya, pokoknya die musti punya anak, with or without a husband
Pertama2, Ming butuh donor sperm, die ga mau make donor dari klinik karena meski ada riwayat hidup, die pengen anaknya ntar jelas kek apa, jalan satu2nya adalah Jason, teman Ming dari kecil.
Jason, si hero. Dia berkeyakinan kaga bakalan mo merit, kaga bakalan py anak, ga bakalan jatuh cinta.
Pada usia ke 15, die ngeliat bapaknya mo bundir karena emak sama adik perempuannya meninggal kr kecelakaan, die beranggapan bpknya sampe segitunya kr cinmat sama emaknya, makanya die sebisa mungkin jauh2 deh dari "cinta"
Hingga suatu hari, Ming temen deketnya selama bertahun-tahun, minta dia jadi donor sperm untuk anak Ming, tapi musti rahasia karena si Ming ini ga mau menyakiti perasaan Evan, mantan tunangannya yg tak lain dan tak bukan adalah kakak Jason (yeah.. drama)
Jason yg gregetan ngeliat tingkah Ming, pls deh.. Ming ude di depak sama Evan dan Evan saat ini lg pacaran sama adeknya Ming (lily) si Evan-Lily ini kaga ngomong pula ke Ming dan Ming masih belain Evan?
Jason mengajukan syarat ke Ming, boleh die nyumbang sperm tapi ga mau via klinik, maunya secara tradisional (yeah... bobo bareng maksdnya)
Dari awal Evan pacaran sama Ming, Jason ini ude kegerahan, ude kaga suka.. tapi mo gimana, die sendiri yakin ga bisa mencintai orang lain, apalagi Ming, mereka kek punya persyaratan "ga boleh terlibat secara romantis kr pasti persahabatan bakalan rusak" jd mau ga mau ttp dukung Ming dong.
Tapi emang bener si, ga ada yg namanya "persahabatan" antara laki-laki dan perempuan yg murni sahabatan. Ming aslinya jg suka Jason dr jamannya sekolah, tp kr die tau Jason ga bakalan "mencintai seseorang" die ga mau patah hati dan ga mau ngerusak persahabatan mereka.
Permasalahan mulai kacau sejak Jason ngajuin syarat "tradisional" Ming yg ude yakin die suka Jason berusaha mengelak, ga mau deh.. kl musti bobo bareng. Jason yg mikir Ming masih suka Evan di kira ga mau kr Evan
dan Evan sendiri (gw benci deh sama ni karakter) malah asik2an sama Lily, dan Lily sendiri kaga mau jujur ke Ming kalau die jactin sama Evan (sama2 nyebelin kek Evan ni si Lily)
akhirnya kek apa? hepi en lah jelas... kl ga hepi en gw ga bakalan baca kwkwkwkw......
lumayan buat selingan ^^

What a fun friends to lovers story! I especially liked how the author brought back previous characters and gave us a glimpse into their "where are they now?" status.

D2214 Feb13 Chase Brothers #4 Ming Campbell has wanted a child for a very long time. She was 2weeks from her wedding when her fiancé called off the wedding. She's decided that she wants a child and will go with artificial insemination. Her best friend, Jason Sterling, is who she wants as the donor. He will, but only if the "do it the old fashioned way". Jason has issues, his father fell apart, attempting carbon monoxide poisoning, after his wife and their daughter were killed in a car accident. Jason is unwilling to get involved and risk loving and losing a loved one. His father gives his a wake up, pointing out the reality of what had happened not the mistaken view Jason has.
