Seven fascinating homes are detailed in this wonderfully engineered flap book. Multiple views allow young readers to discover rooms, hallways, closets, bedrooms -- they can even meet the inhabitants and learn about different lives in different times.
Steve Noon was born in Kent, UK, and attended art college in Cornwall. He's had a life-long passion for illustration, and since 1985 has worked as a professional artist. He has provided award-winning illustrations for the publishers, Dorling Kindersley, where his interest in historical illustration began. Steve has illustrated over 70 books for Osprey.
This book's flap copy asks "Do you ever wish you could see inside other people's houses? Do you wish you could travel back in time?" Though I hesitate to admit my obsession with the former, I can heartily answer "yes!" to both questions. Now, I can indulge my yearnings to peek through the windows of yesteryear with Open House. If you're like me--both nosy and a history buff--I suggest you do the same. ;-)
