Elaine Hawthorne is an American grey werewolf and she has been living as a lone wolf for years. She has returned to Scotland to search for a family treasure that is supposed to be hidden by her deceased uncles. On her way to a meeting with a distant cousin, Elaine has a near collision with Cearnach MacNeill…which gets fates ball rolling.

Cearnach is second in command of the MacNeill werewolf pack. He is instantly drawn to Elaine and quickly maneuvers a situation so he can spend more time with her.

Elaine finds herself caught up in a century’s old feud between clans with Cearnach becoming her protector and life line in this difficult situation.

A Highland Wolf Wedding was a fast paced, action packed adventure with kilt wearing highlander hotties that shift into werewolves...I absolutely loved it! The romantic tension was smoldering with an interesting ghost intervention. Terry Spear masterfully created a fabulous new addition to her Heart of the Wolf series. Check out A Highland Wolf Wedding.

A Highland Werewolf Wedding by Terry Spear is the eleventh book in the Heart of the Wolf series. It’s an enjoyable read and a good addition to the series. I liked that both Cearnach and Elaine are centuries old so there isn’t a huge age gap. They each carry a wealth of life experience which enables them to appreciate their unique attraction and they quickly see how good they are together.

I really liked A Highland Werewolf Wedding. It has romance, humor, action and a touch of treasure hunting. The plot flows quickly and smoothly. Cearnach and Elaine are likeable characters and it’s a joy to see them come together. A Highland Werewolf Wedding is a delightful read that holds your attention and entertains throughout. I look forward to more books by Terry Spear.

A Highland Werewolf Wedding is recommended for fans of Paranormal Romance.

Terry Spear just keeps making me change my mind when it comes to a favorite book in her Heart of the Wolf series! (Leidolf is still my favorite and probably always will be!) Every time I think “she’ll never out do the last book”, she proves me very wrong. A Highland Werewolf Wedding was no different. Cearnach MacNeill, one of the sexy MacNeill quadruplets we’ve read so much about lately, is on his way to a wedding when he’s run off the road by the sexy she-wolf Elaine Hawthorn. Elaine is one her way to a very important meeting that she can’t miss. Unfortunately Cearnach’s vehicle is no longer drivable and since it was her fault, (in his mind anyway) he doesn’t give her much choice but to drive him to the wedding and then he will escort her to the meeting. Sounds safe enough, right? Ha, not in a Terry Spear novel! Cearnach and Elaine have an instant attraction and Cearnach can’t fight the possessive feelings he has for her almost immediately, but a secret in Elaine’s history could spell disaster for any possible mating between the two.

Highland Werewolf Wedding is full of humor, suspense, action, and just enough steam to keep things hot without taking over the story. Spear always finds the perfect blend to keep the story fast paced and exciting yet not losing that emotional connection that makes her characters so memorable.
A Highland Werewolf Wedding has everything that fans have come to expect from a Terry Spear book. If you’ve been a fan, you’ll be more than pleased with this addition to the series. If you’re new to the world of Terry Spear, you’re in for a treat, and trust me, once you read one in the series; you’ll want to read them all!

I knew I had just read an awesome book by the aftermath – nails bitten, teeth aching and hyperventilation, check – check – check. There is action, suspense and more twists and turns than the Pacific Coast Highway; and it can leave a reader just as breathless. A Highland Werewolf Wedding delivered surprises, shocks and heart pounding adventures that had my brain spinning. What a ride!

The author first introduced me to the lead characters way back in history. Because werewolves live a long time, fate had a nice, leisurely time span to work its magic. Ms. Spear’s writing is diabolical and clever. She wove an intricate little mystery about a time honored tradition – hunting for buried pirate treasure. There was murder and betrayal along the way, naturally, but there is something infinitely more intriguing buried with the stash – destiny.

Elaine is young and scared when the story opens. When next a reader meets her, she’s all grown up and a force to be reckoned with. Life has hardened her and made her more cunning, determined and a woman who knows her own mind. She stands up for herself, and because she’s been on her own for so long, knows what it’s like to have no one to guard her back. That makes her a woman of action. If there’s injustice, she stands against it. If there’s a wrong, she is going to correct it. And if someone is going to try to feed her a load of blarney, she’ll call them on it. Elaine Hawthorne is no one’s fool. Despite everything she’s lived through and survived, there is this little spark of romantic yearning inside that has lain dormant all these years. It will take one man to ignite it and his name is Cearnach MacNeill.

I originally met Cearnach in A Howl for a Highlander and he was portrayed as a man who is jovial in nature with a will of steel. In his own story, I got to see a greater depth from him that pleased me. That easygoing manner that his family is familiar with isn’t present in this book. He’s taking a stand against injustice; a right choice in the face of one hundred percent disapproval. And yet, the hero can do no less. It’s that sense of honor, integrity and the unwillingness to let a wrong go uncontested that made him an awesome choice for winning the heroine’s love. The fact that he is drool-worthy in a kilt, or nothing at all, is an added bonus.

What kills me is that I can’t talk at length about the villains. The whole lot of them play a key role in getting Elaine and Cearnach together long enough that they fall in love, wholly and completely. So much happens to the two of them because of the actions and manipulations of the bad guys that it’s astounding. The conflict is genius, the action sequences of fighting, running and fighting some more were tightly written and the final culmination of a century’s old mystery finally getting solved was satisfactorily wrapped up.

At first, their romance seems to be humming along without a hitch, mostly because they’re both wolves and they know the mating expectations. The hero and heroine are not shy by any means, which had the effect of providing me with some oh-so-sexy seduction scenes. Both characters know what they like and want and go after it. I was enjoying their getting together so much that when the villains made their dramatic strike it was a like being splashed with frigid Arctic water. SHOCK! I yelled at the book, put it down, stalked off, came right back and started reading again. I could not believe my eyes. What an amazing, truly amazing gift Ms. Spear has for storytelling!

I absolutely enjoyed the romance, the back story and the delivery but the novel isn’t totally perfect. There is only one thing that could have made the book one hundred percent ideal and that was less repetition of Elaine being an “alpha-she wolf”. I get it. Cearnach totally loved that about her, was enamored of her personality and appreciated that she was an alpha-she wolf. But I was beat over the head with it and after a while all I could do was roll my eyes. It almost came to the point that she was over-alphing the hero, which wouldn’t have been a good thing. The author managed to prevent the heroine from usurping the hero’s place as a hero, but barely. In the end, the most important fact is that they came out equal, Elaine and Cearnach are well matched and their union is truly blessed. A piece of the pirate treasure proved that.

Another component to enjoy was seeing Duncan again from A Highland Werewolf Wedding. In this story he acts like the other book said he usually did but because he was falling in love at the time, a reader didn’t get to see him in action. His devilish bloodthirsty nature came out loud and clear in this tale and it was a great benefit for Cearnach. Not only did I get to see Ian, the oldest brother again, but I had the distinct treat of seeing I was right about an observation that I’d made when reading the other book. Uncle Ethan is fitting right in. I’m tickled pink.

Even though I’m making references to a previous book, please don’t let that dissuade you from reading this one. It’s a great standalone read because the story is complete unto itself. Yes, there are little references from the previous books that a fan will be able to pick up and enjoy all the more. It’s like a double layer of fun – it’s great for both new and old fans of the series.

A Highland Werewolf Wedding is not only sultry, sexy and satisfying but it has a plot conflict that stuns, shocks and bowls a reader over from the surprise. This is a book that kept me on my toes, kept me glued to its pages and bouncing in my chair. I cannot even express the myriad of emotions this book wrung from me but it’s all due to the awesome talent that Ms. Spear possesses. It was amazing how she lulled me into thinking that this was going to be a sweet but hot romance with a mild bit of drama. Readers are in for a wild time. I feel like I’m straining against the bit because I want to reveal just what made this novel as cool and diabolical as it is and I can’t. It’s a major spoiler and I want readers to feel what I did, experience the whole sensation like I did and that can only come from the not knowing. I guess some readers might figure it out. In retrospect I think the author did drop clues. But I didn’t catch on so it made the revelation all the more powerful. So, rush out and get this book when you can and find out for yourself. A Highland Werewolf Wedding a sure winner.

I liked this book a lot! I've read a solid few of Spear's Highland Wolf books at this point, and these two are definitely my favorite so far. While I have a love for the subgenre, it does have certain issues, that I think these characters make a move into a better direction. It's pretty common for these Alpha male wolves to be protective to the point of overprotection, where it almost comes across as disrespectful to the female wolf's capabilities and intelligence. And part of the reason I love Elaine and Cearnach is because there isn't as much of that. That's not to say it's not there at all, because it definitely still is, but Elaine takes no sh*t and Cearnach considers her generally strong and capable (still overprotective, but not as bad as some of his brothers). I liked the combining of past and present story lines, the climax came together smoothly, and the twist helped clarify the remaining pieces of the puzzle. I have already read the book that comes right after this, which happens to have my other favorite couple, and I like the closeness and interrelatedness of the stories regarding the MacNeill clan. Overall, a solid story I will likely read again for the fun of it.

Initial Thoughts: Loved this, love Terry Spear, love the sexy Highlander werewolves in kilts. Add this to your summer reading lists - no problem to read it as a standalone book, although you will want to read all the rest of Ms. Spear's books once you've read this one.

The Review:
I know that I’m in for a treat whenever I pick up one of Terry Spear’s books. Think about it: highlanders, sexy werewolves in kilts, castles, pirate treasure, even a ghost – how can you go wrong?

A Highland Werewolf Wedding can be read as a standalone book, but it is book 11 in the authors Heart of the Wolf series. It is a testament to the author’s writing skill that a reader can skip around the series, reading it completely out of order, and still enjoy each book. I never felt like I missed anything by skipping around this series and I still plan to read the entire series. It would make a great summer “read by the pool” read.

I know that some people don’t like the “love at first sight” trope, but it just seems to work with werewolves. Blame it on the wolf, blame it on the mating instinct – I can easily buy the raw, animal emotion that screams out “Mine!” and “Mate!” when werewolves are involved. I also love the fact that the wolves inside the humans get intrigued first, then the human side follows. I think that this type of attraction works, especially when an accidental meeting sparks that mating instinct.

And whoa, these two are hot together! I loved the main characters. Cearnach is such an alpha male: strong, protective, confident, smart – and he looks amazing in a kilt. He exudes masculinity and has a patient and caring side. Elaine is beautiful and strong willed. She too is an alpha wolf and I loved how she “protects” Cearnach and stands up to his mother. She is a perfect match for Cearnach. I think I enjoyed this couple the most when they roamed the countryside as wolves. The author captures their animal side so well down to every detail. The reader is treated to the sights, sounds, and smells from a wolf’s point of view. Fascinating.

The supporting cast of characters was interesting as well. I loved the camaraderie of the MacNeill clan of wolves, how they were able to protect each other and then joke and play together. There’s even a ghost living in the castle! Flynn was quite the mischievous ghost. Yup, you can’t have an old highland castle without a ghost.

Ms. Spear writes very entertaining werewolf stories. I can always count on her books for some sexy werewolf times. I’ve now added the remaining books in the series to my summer reading list. I can’t wait to catch up on this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for a review copy of this book.

This is book 11 in Ms. Spear's Heart of the Wolf series and can be read as a stand alone novel.

When Elaine Hawthorn loses her parents she begs to go with her privateer uncles to Scotland, upon losing them she meets Cearnach MacNeill for the first time but only until she is able to run away. Fast forward 220 some odd years and she runs into him again or more to the point he almost runs into her, in his car.

Cearnach MacNeil is nothing if not loyal and when his friend is marrying a man from a rival clan and asks him to come to the wedding he will even if he knows there could be problems. While racing to get to the church he almost gets in an accident with Elaine and ends up having to use her car and unintentionally dragging her into the middle of a clan feud.

A Highland Werewolf Wedding gives us sexy shifters, feuding Highland clans, Pirates (I mean privateers), meddling ghosts and mothers, a feisty American and a bunch of really hot warriors in kilts. Ms. Spear takes us on a wild chase looking for treasure and finding love instead, with enough steamy scenes to warm you on a cold Highland night.

Being that this is the 11th book in this series there are some background characters and information that would be better or more fully appreciated by someone who has read the previous books, however this is written in a why that it is a complete story with a wonderful hero and heroine and villains you love to hate and plenty of story points left to add book 12.

Just love her books-this one no exception and defiantly not disappointed in this one. Part of a series but also good just by itself. This one centers around Elaine Hawthorn and Cearnach MacNeill (one of the brothers in the wolf clans). Having meet before but one doesn't remember they meet again years later-and then their story takes off. Lots of things have happened to Elaine since that time and it comes out exactly what as time goes on with these two. Filled with lots of adventure and heartwarming romance. A ghost or two from the past appear one from previous books and one a surprise. Danger catches her toward the end and and the hunk Cearnach saves her. Revisit with previous characters a plus. Always love to read more on those you come to know in these books.

**On The Run...**

After werewolves Elaine Hawthorn and Cearnach MacNeill almost have a head-on collision on a foggy Highland road, they're pretty well stuck with each other. It'll be hours before anyone can get there to pull his car out of the ditch and they both have better places to be.

**And Nowhere to Hide From Each Other...**

The sexy little American brings out all of Cearnach's big bag protective instincts. If she thought she was in trouble before, Elaine has no idea what kind of complications a hot Scot can cause...

I fell in love with Terry Spear's writing not too long ago, when I saw that she had a few more coming out I clicked and prayed I would be approved and YESSSSS!!! They approved me. I'm pretty certain I danced a jig. Now you know how weird I am, let's move onto the review shall we.

Elaine is on the run from an unintended mating and she ran right into the man she needs help from desperately. I loved their meet-cue it's too awesome and sad, really really sad. Cearnach is an awesome character, strong but not too arrogant; he's a hot werewolf the second in command to his brother and he is on his way to the wedding of his best friend even though he knows it's just going to cause trouble between their warring clans, on the way there he is run off the road by a crazy hot woman dressed in red and so begins the story of Cearnach & Elaine.

Elaine is an Alpha werewolf without a pack, who has managed to pull her life together despite the tragedy she has faced and even though it's been tough she still was willing to meet an Alpha and be with him. I will note that she had a few hangups but they weren't debilitating, she still had some good sense in there and used it. She was a strong character who was down for the adventure of being in Scotland and went along with whatever happened as long as it also served her purpose, she wasn't a pushover and she wasn't a carzy ball buster either, she wore her Alpha mantel and was comfortable with backing off when she didn't know what was needed. Which totatlly endeared her to me, she was a modern, strong woman and I loved it.

To say I love this story doesn't even begin to do it justice, the characters are well written, fun witty, the story flows well, the questions are answered the old characters pop in but don't take over the book, the history is shared and makes the book even more intriguing, it really wasn't predictable or lame. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down until I finished which was fun because I was reading while standing on line at BEA in NYC, yeah even on the trains I read, I just wanted to know what happened.

I'm dying to know more about the other clan, why they are the way they are, and what really started the warring between the clans. I'm reading Howl For a Highlander right now (yeah I realized after that I was reading the books in the wrong order, but hey more hot highlanders for me). and I can't get enough of these werewolves. I loved how she wove the stories together, giving more information about each brother in each book & let us see more of their partners in each book. It's an amazing story, a good read that's perfect for the summer vacation. I mean really Highlander's and kilts are always good anytime of year.

Enjoy my loves

All Things Urban Fantasy

Full of strapping alpha werewolves that would make me weak in the knees before they ever started saying “lass…” A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING was exactly what I was expecting. It is your typical romance: boy meets girl, pretty predictable conflicts ensure, boy and girl end up together happily ever after. Though I wasn’t surprised, A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING was well written, easy to pick up out of series order, and featured a great couple with tons of chemistry. A contemporary romance set in Scotland, it also had a bit of a historical feel to it, likely because of the abundance of castles, daggers and kilts.

Despite the fact that A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING is the eleventh in the Heart of the Wolf series, I didn’t ever feel like I was missing out. Sometimes, when a series gets lengthy, a reader can feel like they’re on the outside of all the inside jokes, and characters show up solely to show what they’ve been up to since their book. In this case, I didn’t feel like there were any gratuitous cameos because when characters were introduced, it was for a purpose. Some of the secondary characters were a bit flat, but Elaine and Cearnach more than made up for it.

Elaine is one of the strongest heroines I’ve read in a while. For example, just a few hours after meeting Cearnach, she manages to step in the middle of a fight and accidentally takes a punch meant for him. She isn’t cowed by the women of Cearnach’s family (or the men either) and stands her ground when they question her attraction to him. And obviously she’s attracted to Cearnach! He is one sexy alpha werewolf, just as strong as she is. Yum. He does the alpha bossy thing just right- he objects to Elaine’s ideas if they put her in the way of danger (because he wants to protect her), but he doesn’t stop her from doing things or keep information from her, instead he helps her out and lets her be herself. Unfortunately, the method of getting Cearnach and Elaine closer together- having a ghost bothering Elaine when she’s not around Cearnach in the castle- was a bit silly and contrived, but luckily it was a short bit, so not too much eye rolling necessary. And would you really argue with pushing them together?

Even though I haven’t read any of the other installments from the Heart of the Wolf series, I really enjoyed A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING. While not perfect, it was fun and worth the read, and it definitely convinced me to go back and check out previous stories. I’m especially curious about Ian, the alpha of the pack, and his romance novel author wife Julia…Excuse me while I go search for HEART OF A HIGHLAND WOLF at my local library.

Author Terry Spear begins with a dire situation and picks up speed from there. You’re breathlessly pulled into the heroine’s circumstances feeling her anxiety and her excitement.

Elaine Hawthorn, an American gray werewolf, has returned to mystical Scotland to retrieve treasure her family hid away hundreds of years earlier. In her haste to meet a distant relative, she almost has a head-on collision with Cearnach MacNeill, a hot-blooded Highlander werewolf on his way to a wedding. Since he’s unable to drive his car, Elaine is forced to attend the wedding with him. But it turns out the MacNeills are an enemy of her cousin’s clan. Through a twist of circumstances, Elaine and Cearnach find themselves on the run and drawn to each other.

Cearnach had been warned by his older brother, the pack leader, not to attend the wedding since his dear friend was marrying into their enemy’s clam, but he had promised he would be there for her. Running into Elaine, Cearnach finds that he wants to be her protector no matter what. He’s determined to make sure she’s safe at all cost despite all the trouble she seems to encounter. His heart will have it no other way.

The characters are well-developed and likable. Even though they’re shape-shifting werewolves, readers can relate to their conflicts, emotions, desires and hopes. The secondary characters add flare and flavor to the mix.

Spear has an eye for details and her meticulous research shines through in her writing. Her vivid descriptions of the Scottish Highlands places the reader among the characters. You have an instant feel for the region, its people, the sights, and the sounds. Her extensive knowledge of wolves enhances the story.

While she spins a beguiling paranormal tale, Spear also incorporates steamy romance, suspense, and good old-fashion storytelling into her books.

Spear blends pirates, lost treasure, sexy highlanders in kilts, castles, a mischievous ghost, and enthralling characters into a well-balanced story. She takes you from the past to the present in a smooth flowing story that keeps the action going.

The bantering between Elaine and Cearnach will have you laughing, while the steamy attraction between the two sizzles like fireworks on the Fourth of July. A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING is a tantalizing read.

This is the third installment in the Highland Wolf Series, but can be read on its own. New readers aren’t left in the dark with the references to prior events and people.

You can’t go wrong with a sexy highlander and a spunky heroine let loose in beautiful Scotland. A fun book for a summer read or any time you’re in the mood for romance and adventure.

Highland. Werewolf. Wedding. This book had me sold by the title alone. I always love a good Highlander story, mix in werewolves and the drama and romance involved with weddings; it’s a recipe for a great read. Plus, I have found Terry Spear writes some of the best werewolf paranormal romances around, and A Highland Werewolf Wedding does not disappoint.

Don’t let the title confuse you, while the many of the characters are Scottish Highlanders, this story is a contemporary read, not a historical. The werewolves have been around since the days of the historical highlanders and they do live in a castle, but the story is a modern one.

Cearnach MacNeill is the second to the laird, his brother, in his clan and wolf pack. The clan all live in a highland castle/estate, and quite a few of the characters in A Highland Werewolf Wedding have been featured in earlier books. In Cearnach’s story, he is trying to do the right thing and be there for a friend’s wedding when he is run off the road by Elaine. Elaine is a lone wolf, orphaned young and used to taking care of herself while hiding from her enemies. Elaine is a very alpha female wolf, she has spunk and spine and I loved her character immediately. Elaine’s distant kin have suddenly taken an interest in her and want her for their own ambiguous and nefarious reasons. Elaine’s enemies prove to be not-so-smart and drive her right into Cearnach’s over-protective arms (almost literally ). Elaine’s kin and the MacNeill’s are enemies and that family feud threatens to put Elaine on the run again.

I fully enjoyed A Highland Werewolf Wedding. Cearnach and Elaine have a natural rapport that attracted me to the characters and their story. They seem to attract trouble wherever they go, and Elaine puts herself into the troublesome situations when most women would have hidden away. The story is a romance with plenty of attraction between Cearnach and Elaine, but the story is also full of adventure and humor. The book is fast-paced and kept my attention the whole way through. I finished this book in pretty much one sitting and enjoyed each minute.

Readers who enjoy werewolf romance books would enjoy this book, and the rest of the Heart of the Wolf series. The series is quite large with 11 books now, but you do not have to read the books in order or have read all the books in the series to enjoy A Highland Werewolf Wedding. I have skipped around this series a lot, but I always enjoy the books and look forward to more from Terry Spear.

This is the second book I have read by Terry Spear and I must say it met my expectations and more. This is the eleventh book in the Heart of the Wolf series; it however can be read as a stand-alone. A Highland Werewolf Wedding, a story that spanned centuries, is a wonderful romantic read with some amount of fantasy, action, suspense, humor and mystery sprinkled in between. The story is set in the Scottish Highlands and it gives readers an insight in to the highland culture. This helps to make the story very realistic.

Elaine Hawthorne, an American alpha-she wolf with Scottish ancestry, had endured loss and emotional pain at an early age. This experience served to only make her stronger and more self- reliant. She was a warrior by nature and basically a lone wolf. Due to all she had suffered in the past she kept to herself and was fearful of getting close to anyone. She was so used to doing things on her own it was difficult for her to accept help from anyone. She basically trusted no one. Elaine was someone who was able to hold her own and was a take charge person.

Cearnach MacNeill is one hot alpha werewolf. *Fans self* He was a protector by nature especially when it came to those whom he is very close to. From the moment he laid eyes on Elaine he knew he had found his mate for life. I loved how the author developed their chemistry which was evident from the moment they met. Their relationship was realistic. It had the usual ups and downs one would expect to find in any form of relationship. Their romance was definitely sizzling. It was easy for me to relate to Elaine as I understood her pain of loss. I loved the fact that Cearnach wanted to be there for her to help overcome her past so that their love could survive.

The supporting characters were great in their own way. I was intrigued with the concept of the animosity between the clans, even more so in light of the fact that Elaine was related to the Mckinley Clan whom was the sworn enemies of the MacNeil Clan. I believed this was developed superbly.

I love Ms. Spear’s writing style, the way she develops her characters and her story telling skills. Very hot, addictive and detailed. The action scenes had me on the edge of my seat. I felt joy, sorrow and some finger biting moments while reading this book. There was some laugh out loud moments. It was an excellent story absolutely worth every moment spent reading it. It grabbed my attention from the very first page and it held it until the very end. This book is a must read and as such I would definitely recommend it to lovers of paranormal romance.

Another fun and sexy werewolf read from Terry Spear. Spear's Heart of the Wolf series is entertaining and highly addictive.
Cearnach MacNeill is on his way to his best friends wedding when he has a run in with a she-wolf who looks very familiar. He knows they've met before, but he can't quite put his finer on where it was. His car is disabled so the arrogant wolf commandeers Elaine to take him to the wedding.
Elaine is a wolf shifter who came to Scotland to hunt for a stolen treasure her pirate uncles had buried there. She can't believe Cearnach blames her for the accident, but she hopes the forgetful wolf doesn't remember how he met her long ago. The wedding crashers get shown to the door at the church, and are stranded at a remote area by some vindictive adversaries.
There was a scorching sexual tension between Cearnach and Elaine. They both tried to deny it for a while. Elaine wanted to stay away from controlling alpha wolves. She'd been down that road before, and no way was she ever going back again. Cearnach never tried to hide his feelings from Elaine, though. He considered mating right from the start, but he could see that she'd been burned and he wanted it to be her choice. Alas, he finally remembers how they met, and who Elaine really is. She comes clean about her past, and they agree to work together to find the treasure. When Elaine's past comes back to haunt them, they will have to fight to stay together.
Spear's eloquent writing style flows with an ease that made it easy to engage in the story right from the start. Her vibrant characters and vivid descriptions pulled me in, making me feel like I was right there in the story. The romance was magical, as Cearnach and Elaine realize that they were meant to be together all those years ago. I felt this was one of the most romantic stories in the entire series. And....yes....I have read them all.
A Highland Werewolf Wedding is every bit as good as I had anticipated, and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was fun to read. There was lots to keep me interested in this story. Who doesn't love an alpha werewolf hero ? A wolf in a kilt. Makes it even sexier. But it also had lots of adventure, intrigue, and a mystery to go along with the steamy love story.
This book stands on it's own, but I highly recommend the rest of the series as well. After all, who'd want to waste great shifter stories ?
I loved this book. A Highland Werewolf Wedding is another shining example of exactly why Terry Spear is the Queen of the shifter romance.

Complimentary copy was given by the publisher in return for my honest opinion.

Elaine Hawthorn is a gray American werewolf, currently out of work, and on a mission to share in a family treasure. When she arrives in Scotland, she nearly has a head-on collision with one hot, kilt-garbed Highlander, and runs him off the road.

Werewolf laird Cearnach MacNeill isn’t happy Elaine ruined his car, but he quickly becomes her protector after a misunderstanding lands her right in the middle of two feuding clans. Now he’s out to ensure that this sexy female wolf gets her fair share of her clan’s treasure. He knows he should leave well enough alone, but it’s too late to leave his heart out of it.

This is the first title I’ve read by Terry Spear…and it will not be the last! Creating a story that doesn’t just span years, but centuries, A Highland Werewolf Wedding provides a remarkable insight into the Highland culture…and the fact that the Highlands, as sparsely populated as they are would provide a good home for packs of werewolves…

Elaine is a warrior-wolf, a she-wolf so full of fight and fire that she takes a fist to the face to save Cearnach…not the actions of a weak heroine, is it? After being forcibly mated to a wolf that thinks with his fists instead of his brain, is it any wonder that she views a pack as something to avoid? The man she hated was dead, after all…

Clans of werewolves are constantly in conflict against slights that may seem small, but to them are big enough to risk death. With Elaine belonging to the clan that the NacNeill’s have the most friction against…and with the intimate knowledge that some hidden treasure her uncles secreted away…surely Cearnach doesn’t just want her for that fact?

Steamy romance is combined with werewolves which are not just fun, but have a whole lifestyle. I’ve not read a romance like this before…Scottish brogue meeting American slang as the two Alphas try to work out where each stand…of course being lent a helping ghostly hand…

Terry Spear is an amazing writer, who brought this book to life with her clever use of details and steamy scenes to make you care about the characters you are reading about…

…and now I have a crush on hunky Scottish werewolves!

This one is available now!

This is #11 in the Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear. I'm not sure what other couples in this book have been featured before, but I was quickly caught up in Terry Spear's shifter mythology.

Although there is quite a bit of repetition in the narrative, I enjoyed this fast-paced read.

Cearnach first briefly met Elaine in 1785. He looked for her for weeks afterwards. Wish he had found her, as her life was pretty much hell for a very long time afterward. We then jump forward to current time and bonny Scotland.

Elaine is an alpha she-wolf, but it took her a long time to grow into that part of her. Her wolf is totally into Cearnach when they next meet...just after she runs him off the road. Of course, it was HIS fault, but he took charge of the situation, and car, and her! She remembers him from so very long ago, but he's just a bit confused as to where they met before.

When they meet, he was heading to a Highland wedding and once he got a good sniff of her she-wolf, he had to take her with him. His protective instincts are fully engaged when she takes a punch to the face for him at the wedding.

There's some mystery as to why she has been invited to Scotland by her long-lost relatives. There's a treasure hunt in the background of their romance. I was particularly pleased when this author lets this couple get together rather quickly, just in time for the other shoe to fall.

I enjoyed their "wolfie" time together as they ran and explored. Also made me laugh that the shifters had dogs, Irish Wolfhounds and Standard Poodles. Elaine thought about bringing dachshunds into the mix. That should happen in a future book...lol

I will definitely be reading more from this author. Must see those other hot Highlander shifters find their mates!

Thank you, NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca, for the opportunity to read A Highland Wolf Wedding!

After several years of reading Ms. Terry Spear's work I can't say that I've ever been disappointed. Her books are amazing and what makes them even better is that she's added in the delicious werewolves. I must say that her highlander werewolf books are my favorite simply because they are clad in only their kilts. Therefore, bringing us to A Highland Werewolf Wedding.

Cearnach's life changed the moment he ran into the lovely Elaine Hawthorne, or better yet, when she ran him off the road while he was trying to get to a wedding ... to a wedding he was hoping to stop. However, things weren't at all what they seemed. Cearnach felt a connection to the lovely Elaine, but couldn't figure out why he felt the way he did. Did he know the lass? Had they met before somehow?

There were secrets ... secrets that had been buried many, many years ago. Elaine thought she escaped from her past, but once she's back in Scotland things start to go downhill as she slowly becomes involved with the handsome Cearnach, but also thrust in the middle of two feuding families.

Finally, the twists and turns are thrown and we're introduced to one that I was not expecting. Something Elaine thought she had run from years ago comes back to haunt her. Will Cearnach realize the danger in time before it's too late, and will Elaine find what she came to Scotland in the first place looking for?

A wonderful book by a wonderful author. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves hot alpha males, strong heroines, and amazing story lines. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Author Terry Spear once again delights and dazzles with "A Highland Werewolf Wedding". Highland Alpha Wolf Cearnach MacNeill is on a mission to save a friend from a great mistake, and feeling a sense of urgency, he is speeding his way to stop a wedding. American Alpha Female Wolf Elaine Hawthorn is on her way to an important meeting at the ruins of Senton Castle. When the two of them have a near-miss head-on collision on the one-lane road, Cearnach veers off the road, and his vehicle is disabled. Stalking his way to confront the offending driver of the other vehicle, he is charmed and disarmed by the beauty and bravado of the she-wolf who steps out of the car. He can't help but feel that they have met somewhere a long time ago, but she evades his questions. Cearnach insists that they take her vehicle to the wedding, and he assures her that he will help her to make it to her meeting. Oh, yes! They have met before--centuries ago--when Elaine was on the run from men who had hung her privateering uncles, and Cearnach had offered her his protection and that of his three brothers. She had eluded him then, but now there will be no escaping the passionate protection of the Highland Warrior Wolf as they work together to find an age-old treasure. But will the undeniable attraction between them grow into a prize more valuable than any treasure they could imagine? Terry Spear writes with great imagination, humor, and an involving eye for detail. Her stories sizzle with heat, but there's always a great deal of heart to satisfy a romance-lover's soul.

Immediately following her parents burial, sixteen year old Elaine Hawthorn is appalled as her bachelor uncles advise she is to be mated to family rival pirate Kelly Rafferty. Delaying the mating, the pirating uncles take Elaine with them to Scotland to sort their business and are hanged in the process. While the scuffle surrounding Elaine's uncles escalate she has a chance meeting but briefly meets Cearnach MacNeill before escaping back to America. Hundreds of years later they have a chance meeting as he is rushing to a wedding he clearly intends to object to. Both Cearnach and Elaine feel the same attraction they felt many years ago, but he doesn't immediately remember when or where he met her.
Once again a different storyline for the series as Elaine and Cearnach make their way to mate-hood. Their story did not have the usual courtship as their attraction was so strong. Misunderstandings and cases of mistaken identity have Elaine taking shelter away from her kin and with the MacNeill clan - their mortal enemies. When her demand that Elaine be returned she and the MacNeill's try to determine exactly why.
It was good to visit the MacNeill clan members and to see them welcoming Elaine to their ranks. I really enjoyed her independent alpha attitude and though she made a very good match for Cearnach as Guthrie once again looked at his brothers with envy. I would be pleased to see a couple more entries for this piece of the series before it completes.

They say that every seven years or so, a person’s tastes change. I thought when I heard this, that it meant my taste for food! It seems though, that this evolution has spilled over into my literary choices too! A few years ago if you had said that I would be anxiously awaiting a book about a Highlander Werewolf, I would have answered “Highlander, yes, Werewolf, no.” I am not afraid to try new things…when you try new things, sometimes you are rewarded!

This installment of the Werewolf Series begins in 1785. Elaine Hawthorn, a grey wolf shifter, leaves her home in St Augustine, FL with her 2 uncles (who just happen to be pirates) after the double funeral of her parents. She goes with them to avoid the forced marriage to Kelly Rafferty, also a pirate and wolf shifter. She makes a bargain with her uncles; take her with them to see the world, and if she doesn’t find the wolf mate of her dreams, she will return home and marry the arrogant, conceited Rafferty. She was sure he had a hand in the death of her parents, but she couldn’t prove it. They agreed to the deal, but as soon as they docked at St. Andrews, Scotland, her uncles were arrested and hanged for piracy and she barely escaped, only to be accosted by ruffians! She was rescued by a handsome Scottish wolf named Cearnach MacNeill, and when a fight broke out, she escaped from him as well.

3.5 stars - I liked it - Two Weddings and a wolf fight...

Cearnach is a protector at heart, but when he comes across a young female were in trouble she flees before he can come to her rescue. Hundreds of years later, Cearnach and Elaine run into each other (nearly literally) and pretty soon Cearnach is sure that he's found the 'wolf of his dreams'.

Overall I did like A Highland Wolf Wedding, but the book was problematic for me. While I really loved leading 'wolf' Cearnach and the steamy intensity of the mating between the him and Elaine, in having read the the stories for three of Cearnach's brothers and knowing how cautious the others had been about taking a mate - because it's a once in a very long life deal - the fact that this pair take such a big step after only knowing each other less than a day (okay so they met a hundred years ago but spent maybe ten minutes together then) before they do the deed seemed pretty hasty.

I guess that's a minor nit though because I just went with the insta-love and the pair have really good chemistry together in an out of the bedroom. So, I liked both of the characters together and the fact that - except for one very TSTL incident - the heroine is an alpha female who will make a good partner to Cearnach. My only issue was a notch about the nit category and was that the resolution to the twist, the twist that I saw coming for miles away - was pretty violent and bugged me a bit even though the guy was pretty darn bad.

Elaine and Cearnach first met over 100 years ago in Scotland, when she was running from the hanging of her pirate uncles. But Elaine also got away from Cearnach, which didn't go well for her. Fast-forward to present-day Scotland, when Elaine returns at the behest of a distant relative, to find a long-lost treasure of her uncles'. While on her way to meeting her relative, she and Cearnach run each other off the road and meet again. The sparks fly in more ways than one. Because he's running late and his car is inoperable, she attends a highland wolf wedding with him. He's a friend of the bride but an enemy of the groom's family, and the story is off and running. Because, as it turns out, the groom's family is Elaine's distant family.

The book includes some humor, a castle ghost, mortal danger, a hot highlander in a kilt, and the perfect ending. It's an enjoyable, fast-paced book with likable characters.

A Highland Wolf Wedding can be read as a standalone book. However, you'll enjoy the secondary characters more if you read Heart of the Highland Wolf and A Howl for a Highlander first.

This series is such a delight to read. It has the perfect blend of romance and action. And for that action to occur in the Highlands of Scotland ....oh yeah baby. I mean, is there anything sexier then a wolf shifter in a kilt speaking in that Scottish accent? Terry Spear writes with such great descriptions that you feel as if you can smell the heather in the air mixed with a bit of the sea.

Cearnach was such an easy going man that it was easy to see why Elaine would fall under his spell. He just seemed to take everything in stride and kept his alphaness under control until she was threatened, then hold on to your panties cause he came out raging to protect her at all cost.

My only complaint is that everything happened in two days. I'm not a huge fan of the insta-love type stories. I would've liked the relationship to develop gradually, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

We also got to see Ian and Duncan with their mates again which is always nice. You seriously can't have to many Highlanders around. Now if we could just find a mate for the fourth brother, Guthrie things would be great. Oh yeah, and mates for all those cousins running around the castle.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy kilted wolf to snuggle up with. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for me to read.

Another of the Highlander quadruplets bite the dust... :)

I wish I would be brave enough if I meet a hunk on a lonely road to pick him up and not immediately have scary thoughts! But I guess that's because I'm not a she-wolf!

This is actually the 11th in the series which I did not know when I requested it but for the most part it can stand alone. There was some parts that made me realize that other characters had their own stories but nothing I found that confused me enough to not understand the story.

This is an interesting way of writing. Being about werewolves it is set in modern times yet the story has a historical feel. I really enjoyed the story. Cearnach is a great character. He has the heart of a warrior with modern time romance in his soul. Elaine is written as strong and independent but yet she follows her heart. I enjoyed the background characters too even though honestly there was not a lot about them.

This book also had a number of wolf scenes which it seems is forgotten in a number of shape-shifter stories now. Even the connection when the characters are in wolf form is interesting.

Any fan of shape-shifter romance will love this story and as I said it can most certainly stand alone but I think I might go back and read the rest of the series one day and will definitely read the next in the series.

OMG! Terry Spear knows how to write a Highland werewolf romance! She combines sexy Highlanders in kilts, hot and passionate wolves, philandering ghosts, pirates, pirates' treasure, hangings, run-a-way brides and more in this racy tale.

Elaine Hawthorne, an alpha she-wolf, has returned to Scotland to seek and claim her share of the treasure her uncles had hid there many years ago. On her way to a meeting with her cousin, she swerves to avoid meeting another car head-on. When a hot-under-the-collar wolf emerges from the other car, her plans take a detour to his friend's Highlands wedding.

Cearnach MacNeill was running late to his friend's wedding when he was almost run off the road. He was shocked when he realized that the other driver was the same she-wolf who had escaped from him many years ago. But now...he needs a ride to that wedding...

I really enjoyed this tale in Terry's Heart of the Wolf series. I love her Highlander wolves! This tale can be read alone but would probably be enjoyed even more if the series is read in order as characters from previous books are prominent in the story. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves titillating paranormals.

A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING by Terry Spear
PUBLISH DATE: May 7, 2013
REVIEW BY: Reading In Pajamas/Donna
RATED: 4 Stars

REVIEW:
Elaine, a young member of a pirate clan of wolf shifters finds herself thrust into the intrigue through no fault of her own. Having to hide and reinvent herself, she thought it was all behind her. But more than 300 years later she finds herself once again in the fray and back in the arms of the mysterious shifter from long ago.

I liked that she and Cearnach were so very drawn to each other, knew it was destined but were still thoughtful about it. They didn’t just dive in and say it was fate. It wove in nicely with the clan battles and intrigue. The book was well written and engaging. After all….castles, warring clans, pirate treasure and hot love all set in the Scottish Highlands….what more do you need?
