pizap ༺✿ 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰 ༺✿ Is the final full length romance book within the (Briar Valley) duet by author J. Rose. Spoken in Multiple POV's

This picks up right where the previous book left off. Willow on the run again, hiding out in a safe house, alone, scared, protecting her child from evil.

Once this landed on my iPad it was game over, life was turned off and I delved back into this world the author had created, taking my time reading it, savouring it, inhaling it and falling in love all over again with these characters, never wanting this duet to come to an end. I hope somewhere in the future we come back to this setting again.

387107203-846329400828105-3057766848819899966-n

So many highs and lows, loss and heartbreak, where trust and betrayal walked hand in hand, but love stood fierce and strong.

These men loved like no other, but she was the glue which kept them solid.

Willow had to be stronger than she’d ever been in her life before. Willing to bring wrath to the men who had destroyed so many lives.

Justice will be served!

This duet and these characters and their journey will forever be stamped on my heart. I loved these men and their queen.

This review may contain spoilers for Where Broken Wings Fly

J. Rose always gives the best endings to her series, and Briar Vallery Duet was no exception, the conclusion to Willow, Kill, Zach & Micah's story was everything I expected and a little more.

One of the things I liked most about Where Wild Things Grow was reading a different Willow, just as strong, brave and willing to do ANYTHING to protect little Ari, but who is no longer afraid or running from her demons, who is determined to stand up to her abuser and get justice. Another one who also stole my heart a little more was Killian, who is still the grumpy one from the previous book, but shows his more mature side by supporting Willow in all her decisions, respecting her independence and giving him the love and understanding she deserves.

Unfortunately, the twins don't take Willow's return after the end of Where Broken Wings Fly very well, especially Micah, who finds himself in the darkest place since Willow came into his life and does everything possible to protect his heart, but despite that, when she needs him he is there without thinking about it, he is the sweetest, most tender and I think he proves to be the most powerful strenght. whenWillow is in the most complicated moments. And although Zach has a hard time forgiving Willow's absence too, he remains the simplest and funny of the boys.

In addition to the bond that these characters share, and which is developed much more in this book, I loved the direction that J. Rose gave to the plot: the heartbreaking, moving and loving moments between the main characters, but also the importance of the secondary characters and the way in which the author shows us the importance of the community of Briar Valley for Willow.

"Even in the darkest times, they had each other"

So many tears were shed over this book, but it was not in vain.

- The main characters. Willow is a strong woman who, despite her injuries, held on to her child and her family until the very end. In the second book, the author portrayed her as much stronger and more unbreakable. I am very happy that she got justice and her happy ending.

- Zach is the main positive of the book, he always relaxed the atmosphere, but at the same time he can also be a serious man who will always support his beloved. Killian is a very serious man who solves problems with his fists, but in this book he becomes a man who shows so much care and warmth to his family and his beloved. Michah is a guy who is traumatised, but despite his injuries, he has always been supportive of Willow and helped her fight her own herbs. All the characters were written beautifully, it was a pleasure to see the connection between them.

- The secondary characters were also great. Each of the characters made a great contribution to the lives of the main characters, they always supported them, helped them and believed that sooner or later, Willow would get justice not only for herself but for all victims of sexual slavery.

- Finally, I cannot but mention the characters from the other trilogies. I was very happy to read moments with their participation. Some moments brought me back to those books and reminded me that those characters also had their own problems, but despite this, there is always light at the end of the tunnel

5 stars will never be enough for this duet. This picks up right where book 1 (Where Broken Wings Fly) finishes. If you havent read it then I highly highly recommend you pick it up.

Our MFC, Willow, has had a hard life. Her situation will emotionally destroy you, its a hard read, but it makes her who she is now. And watching that growth. Goosebumps. I cannot describe how much I am in awe of this character. And proud. Every emotion, we feel right alongside her. Her heartbreak, her strength, her passion, courage, devotion, love. J.Roses writing was breathtaking.

Then the guys. Micah & Zach. These twins were so in sync but completely different. One made my heart bleed the other sent it souring with laughter. And our giant, Killian. I am gone for these guys. They all have my heart completely. Each provided Willow with support in their own unique ways. Showing her that she was worth the fight. That she deserved a life full of love and happiness. That the darkness was okay but she had to see the light too. Giving her a home.

If youre looking for a duet that will make you ugly cry both happy tears and sad then this is it. Its stunning. The whole journey. The relationships. It captures you and drags you in.. I loved how Rose wove the characters from her other series into this too.

Surrounded by my crazy, adoptive Briar Valley family, new and old, my heart is fit to burst. It’s perfect. Everything. We fled the darkness to find our home, and boy, did we find it.
I spent a decade living in empty spaces—the place between existing and living. The desolation. The darkness. The unknown.
But that space I mentioned?
Well, that’s where wild things grow.

I love this story so much for some reason.
The plot pulled me from the start.

The only thing that bothered me in the book was ....it felt like whenever it was getting really vulnerable and sad, there was a sex scene there.

The smut scenes were great 100%
But I honestly wanted to see them being much more vulnerable taken the plot being a very intense one.

The way I also did feel like that the villain got caught...easy?
Like....it wasn't a big scene I didn't see coming.

But other than that I still do think it's a very strong book with a good plot.

🎶 I walked out, I said, I'm setting you free. But the monsters turned out to be just trees 🎶🎶🎶

When tragedy strikes, Willow (h) a woman who found refuge in the small town of Briar Valley after a traumatic past is forced to confront her past and the men she left behind to protect her family. As Willow returns to Briar Valley, she must face the demons of her past and the man who tormented her for years. With the support of her love interest Micah, Killian and Zach (H), she must confront her fears and protect her loved ones from the looming danger.

─── ・ 。゚☆: THOUGHTS*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

[Killian]

“If that’s what you believe, then you’re not the person I thought you were,” she utters. “I left to keep my daughter safe, not to spite you or your ego.”

“Baby—”

“Don’t baby me, Kill. I was in love with you. I still fucking am. I’ve spent every day dreaming of when I could come home.”

First off, let me just say that I didn't appreciate Killian using Willow's daughter as a guilt trip to get her to stay in Briar Valley. Like, come on, that's just not cool. Willow had her reasons for wanting to leave, and using her daughter to try to manipulate her into staying was just low. Sure, I get that he was hurt and wanted her to stick around, but that's no excuse for playing games like that. Willow's daughter was fine for a few months without Briar Valley, and their connection in the first book wasn't some kind of end-all-be-all relationship that had to be maintained at all costs. In the end, I just felt like Killian's tactics were unfair and unnecessary. Willow had every right to make choices for herself and her family without being guilted into staying somewhere she didn't want to be. So yeah, not cool.

I mean, seriously, Killian was the absolute worst in the beginning. He was always trying to guilt Willow for leaving him and their past behind. Like, excuse me, but she was just trying to protect her daughter from all the bad stuff that happened before. It wasn't like she wanted to leave him, she had to! But then, towards the end, he kind of had a character development. He finally realized that Willow was just trying to do what was best for her daughter. He apologized for being such a jerk and actually started to help her instead of trying to make her feel bad. It was like a complete 180 for him, and I have to admit, I was kind of impressed. So yeah, I still don't really like Killian, but at least he redeemed himself in the end. It just goes to show that people can change if they really want to.

[Zach]

“Our family is broken. Has been since you left.”

“Zach—”

“Forget it.”

Man, let me tell you about Zach. He showed his true colors when she tried to leave. Instead of respecting her decision and wanting what was best for her, he made it all about himself. He guilted her, he made her feel small, and then he straight up punished her by giving her the cold shoulder. It's like he couldn't handle the fact that Willow wanted to do what was best for herself and Arianna. He was so caught up in his own feelings and ego that he couldn't see past his own nose. Instead of being supportive and understanding, he made her feel like she owed him something. Like he was entitled to her love and loyalty no matter what. And let me tell you, that isn’t love. That's manipulation. But you know what? Willow didn't need him. She didn't need his manipulation or his guilt trips.
He was angry, hurt, and just completely lost. He couldn't understand why she had to go, why she didn't trust him enough to stay and work through their Mr. Sanchez problems. But then something clicked in his head. He realized that all his anger and bitterness was just wasting precious time. Time that he could be spending getting his shit together, figuring out what he wanted in life.

[Micah]

“Why did you leave me?” he croaks.

“I’m so sorry,” I choke out.

“My head… You left me alone in it.”

“I’m here… I’m here,” I reassure.

Poor Micah was just super attached to Willow and couldn't wrap his head around why she had to leave. He was so caught up in his own feelings that he didn't know how to deal with it all. It's a tough situation all around, and Micah eventuallyx see things from Willow's perspective and work through his emotions. Willow, on the other hand, was trying her best to take care of Micah and help him through his depression. She knew that leaving him was the only way to protect her daughter, but she also missed Micah deeply. She had to make a difficult decision, weighing the safety of her child against her own happiness. Throughout the story, Willow and Micah's relationship is tested as they navigate through difficult circumstances.

Side note: First off, the whole twist with the traitor being someone from Willow's past was kinda rushed, don't you think? I mean, it all unraveled within two chapters and I was left feeling a bit like, "Wait, what just happened?" But at the same time, it did make sense in a way. It added a layer of complexity to the story and gave Willow even more motivation to seek justice. Now, the trafficking case that was woven into the narrative? That was a good move. It provided a way for Willow to not only find closure for her own past trauma but also to make a difference in a bigger way. It gave her a sense of justice and peace, which was a nice resolution to her character arc.

─── ・ 。゚☆: OVERALL *.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

Overall, I think the way everything played out in the end was satisfying. Sure, there were some bumps along the way, but ultimately, it all came together in a way that felt true to Willow's journey. And hey, isn't that what we want in a good book? Some twists and turns, sure, but a solid conclusion that leaves us feeling satisfied.

ARC REVIEW

As usual, J Rose put me through an emotional rollercoaster! I went through it all: anger, betrayal, pride, tears, anxiety, happiness… all of it!!! This final installment in this duet gives the story justice! Willow’s journey and growth was amazing to witness, and I loved it! J Rose is one of my favorite authors, and I know picking up any of her books will make me feel everything I didn’t know I needed to feel, this one is definitely no exception! If you love why choose with strong found family vibes, with a dash of darkness (outside of the romance), then I definitely recommend picking this duet up!!!

Here it is! The wild and twisted ride has come to an end. It's a bittersweet moment. I am super thrilled to see an HEA for Willow and her guys. But it definitely was a battle to get there. One thing I am so glad to see was the strength that Willow gained. She learned to face her battles herself, even when there were times she wanted to hide. To battle turmoil, abuse, and inner demons showed her resilience, her strength and her willingness to survive. I am absolutely in awe of her. I am in love with all her guys. Killian and his need to protect shone throughout the book. Zach with his golden retriever energy and humor helped Willow to just forget. Micah and his inner demons was something that he could share with Willow, a fellow person in need. His love and devotion for Willow is amazing and definitely shed a few tears. I love how the entire town rallies behind Willow. How they all stand together no matter what life throws at them. Briar Valley is a family and I'm sad to say goodbye.

The Briar Valley Duet—Where Broken Wings Fly & Where Wild Things Grow
The Briar Valley Duet is a deeply immersive and emotionally gripping story that masterfully blends trauma, family, romance, and suspense. From the first page, Where Broken Wings Fly and Where Wild Things Grow take readers on a turbulent yet beautiful journey through generational trauma, unconventional love, and the struggle for healing.

What I Loved
💔 Trauma & Reflection: Willow’s trauma is handled with depth and authenticity, making her journey feel raw and real. The way the story portrays generational family trauma—and how it shapes the characters’ desires, fears, and relationships—is one of the duet’s strongest aspects. Watching Willow shift from survival mode to craving a full (albeit unconventional) family was beautifully executed.

🔥 The RH Dynamic & Taboo Elements: The taboo of the twins and their cousin in the reverse harem (RH) relationship was seamlessly woven into the narrative. It wasn’t forced or gratuitous but rather felt like a natural evolution of the characters’ bonds. The fact that Micah had his own trauma that mirrored Willow’s only deepened the emotional resonance of their connection.

🌀 Suspense & Betrayal: The duet delivers twist after twist, keeping the reader on edge. Just when you think you’ve figured things out, another betrayal emerges, ramping up the tension. The storytelling is tight, the stakes are high, and the suspense is masterful.

👩‍👧 Motherhood & Romance Tension: The singular focus on Willow as a mother added an entirely different layer to the romance. Rather than simply being about passion and chemistry, the RH dynamic had to contend with her maternal instincts, making it seem less certain that an HEA as a harem was even possible. This made the emotional stakes feel even more real.

🏡 The Commune Setting: The concept of a private commune as a self-sustaining city in the countryside was intriguing. It added an extra level of worldbuilding that set the story apart from other dark romances.

A Couple of Critiques
1️⃣ Villain’s Name & Ethnicity Confusion: The choice of the villain’s name was a bit jarring, as the first name had Russian origins while the last name leaned Mexican. Additionally, if the villain was ethnically Mexican and Willow had midnight-black hair, it was a bit puzzling how the little girl had blonde hair and blue eyes. This could have used a little more clarification.

2️⃣ Dangling Modifiers: There were a few instances where sentence structures led to confusion. While this didn’t take away from the overall impact of the story, it did occasionally pull me out of the narrative.

Final Thoughts
This duet delivers strong characters, intense suspense, a rewarding (and spicy) love story, and an emotional depth that lingers. The themes of trauma, healing, and found family are beautifully explored, and the tension—both romantic and plot-driven—is perfectly executed. A must-read for fans of dark, emotionally intense RH romances.

🌟 Rating: 4.5/5

Where Wild Things Grow by J. Rose ☆☆☆☆.5

Where Wild Things Grow is the second half of The Briar Valley Duet and both need to be read in order.

𝐈’𝐦 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐨. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧.

J Rose sure knows how to write banger after banger. She can do no wrong in my eyes. We pick up straight where we left in Where Broken Wings Fly with Willow back 'on the run' and my guys are a mess. Like they're really struggling with the events that happened. Until something happens, that forces Willow home.

When Willow returns to Briar Valley I was fighting such an internal war with myself. On one hand, as a mother myself, I understood why she did what she did. But on the other hand, I was happy the guys were angry with her and didn't let her easily waltz back into their lives. Arianna's reunion was everything with the guys though. Micah, broke my absolute heart as he was already fighting demons, and I feel like this could of destroyed him.

Whilst this book was full of action and the downfall of Dimitri Sanchez and his associates, it didn't skip out on the steam, the heart wrenching moments, the twists that I did not see coming or the humour.

One of my favourite moments was the moment between my girls Willow and Harlow. Two broken, lost souls that formed a friendship in their times of need. And all the other little snippets we got from the Blackwood Institute gang aswell as the Sabre Security guys too!

I'm so excited to see what J Rose has up her sleeve next, because I know I'm going to love it regardless.

What an ending! Book 1 had me heartbroken for Willow and Arianna... book 2 did the same with a quick turn around and Willow having lots to prove. She did just that and I was so excited for it all. A wonderfully written duet!

Beautiful, heartbreaking. Loved these two books. Willow is a very strong woman, who endures a lot of pain and suffering. She flees from Mr. Sanchez who is the Devil in disguise, and finds the 3 men that will help her and Arianna. A beautiful story with a lot of spice, love and suffering.

Justice is served!
This story packs a powerful punch 🤜
Picking up some months into her leaving Briar Valley and Willow is struggling 😩 she knows she believes she did the right thing for her daughter but she’s missing home! Yet an awful event brings her back and she starts to understand the extent of the damage her leaving has done to her family! Rose deals realistically with the trauma faced here (check TWs). There’s a lot of emotions and angst throughout this book but honestly the love and adoration that these guys have for her truly shines through- Zach Killian and Micah all show her in different ways and helps her to overcome every surprise to come 🥰
They know there’s a battle ahead of them and I love how you think it’s all going smoothly and then suddenly there’s a betrayal out of nowhere that leaves you reeling 😮😮
Willow demonstrates what strength and resilience she has and she needs it for the justice she deserves aswell as for that hard earned HEA ❤️
This was soo good I finished it one night….way after I should have been asleep I couldn’t put it down 😆

J Rose really knows how to pull at your heart. This is the conclusion to Willow’s story. Such a hard journey, powerful, heartbreaking and heartwarming.

I loved this book! Willow is such a strong FMC. Her story had me in tears. Talk about a mothers love. Willow will do anything to protect her child and reading about it was just beautiful.

Now the guys! Wow I loved them. I gotta say though Micah absolutely stole my heart. His story alone was one that was so relatable.

This book was beautiful and I’m bawling. I knew they were going to get their happy ending but it’s different when it actually happens. They had to go through so much to get there, especially Willow. This book is about Willow finally being able to work to take down her @busers instead of just running and hiding. It began with her and her daughter hiding away to keep Briar Valley safe but unforeseen circumstances lead to them going back and there was no way her men were going to let her run away again. I loved the Harlow, Hunter, Enzo, Hudson, and Kade cameos, especially Harlow’s. In the end Willow was able to take down the men that hurt her and was able to just be happy with her family in Briar Valley.

J Rose never disappoints. This was another great read and a lovely ending too.

Willow will literally do anything for her daughter even giving up her men, but when an unexpected death occurs she returns. It is not a smooth return but after the way she left at the end of the last book it was to be expected.

Rebuilding their trust in each other and finding a way to defeat Sanchez brings them so much closer and gets them through.

Willow faces her demons but it isn’t easy for her and her men. The struggles she faces and has to endure show just how strong she is.

This ticked all the boxes and I can’t wait for more from J Rose.

All I can say is Ari stole the show, especially with that last line. I won’t say anymore as it will give too much away.

J freaking Rose!!!!!! How could you wreck me so beautifully. And then, then expect me to let them go and continue with my life?!??!!!!!?? I fuck!ng love this duet with my whole heart. 😭

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - seriously all the damn stars!

“Maybe, we’re all too broken. And this cannot be fixed.”

I am UNWELL!!!!!!
Willow - is the standard and I will not accept anything less.
She’s a mother freaking Queen - a Lioness, that continued to prove how strong she is, how resilient and determined. Even in the face of ….

Gosh, this is a bittersweet goodbye for me, Micah, Killian, Zach, Ari, I’m going to miss them so much!
Of course, Micah - kept pulling me deeper, his character resonated the most with me; and I love how you handled every bit of their struggles individually.
Kill - is the ultimate grump, with a soft spot for those he loves.
Zach - everyone needs a guy like him in their lives.

This book takes place right where we left off in Where broken wings fly, and trust me you are not ready for the turmoil that follows!!!

Heartbreak & loss, went hand in hand, along with the angst and longing to soothe the sting.

Wow! The traitor was unexpected. Complete shock and had to put the book down because wtf. But, a huge but, it was all over within a couple of chapters. Way too rushed for a reveal like that. And for me, that solidified the rating for this story. There were other things that overshadowed the good.

Killian and Zach were my biggest problems. The way Killian used Arianna against Willow, guilt tripping her for leaving. I couldn't stand it. A traumatized, terrified woman leaves to protect her daughter and herself, and Killian loses his shit. No. It's not attractive and something Willow definitely didn't deserve. I already had issues with Killian from book 1, but I hoped he'd improve. I mean, he did towards the end, but he didn't deserve Willow.

Zach was just as bad as Killian to me. Instead of trying to understand why Willow took off and left, he made it all about himself, his feelings, his issues. He didn't get better. At least, in my opinion. He didn't apologize and try, but by then, the damage had been done. Micah is the only one who had issues but was willing to hear Willow out. The other two are just idiots.

My favorite part of this book was Willows healing and the whole trafficking thing. Not only did Willow heal, but she did well and got justice. Something that was so desperately needed. Im so proud of her and the woman she became! Go Willow

“You’ve got me, babe. I never stopped loving you. It would take the end of this damn world for that to happen, and even then I’d follow you into the beyond.”

I know J Rose will rip out my heart every time I crack open the pages of one of her books, and she did it again with this second half of Willow’s tale. I am left a sobbing wreck - first through each emotional second to get to Willow’s HEA and then again at one of the most-deserved happy endings ever. I loved every moment of it! Every twist and turn. Every personal victory.

A mother’s love has no bounds, repeatedly shown as danger comes from all sides to threaten their new life in Briar Valley. Willow broke her men when she fled, and much of the story focuses on learning to heal and forgive. I loved the character growth shown throughout and Willow’s building strength. She will not be cowed by her abusive ex. She will take control of her life.

This story is fast-burn and spicy, with MF and group scenes ranging from tender love-making to spicier fare.

I loved this duet. J Rose continues to be one of my favorite authors. Her books put you through the wringer.

This duet is highly recommended in addition to the other two interconnected series: The Blackwood Institute and Sabre Security.

Disappointing

I enjoyed the first book however the second book went off the rails. The FMC became sanctimonious, repetitive and boring. The authors efforts to show FMC is "getting stronger" shouldn't include denigrating others.
I really hate logic errors, of which there are many. The over dramatisation was so annoying I switched to skim reading by quarter of the way through.
This book is such a disappointment.

J Rose ma’am when you write a world no matter how dark and painful it is I wanna jump in and never leave. Briar Valley is the most amazing, beautiful, peaceful place.

This book and this duet has my whole soul. It is the most beautiful, incredible, heart breaking, soul destroying, and utterly freaking amazing! I’m so in love with this story, this world and these characters.

Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off. Willow has been gone from the guys for months at this point and she’s struggling every day with the pain of leaving them but knowing she did the right thing for Ari. We are heartbroken by the guys are struggling with Willows departure. You feel their absolute devastation in the wake of her departure. Then Willow gets a call that changes everything. Willow has to head back to Briar Valley and face the heartbroken guys she left behind.

Willows journey is just so freaking incredible, heartbreaking, soul crushing but hopeful and healing. She grows into a strong, beautiful, brave woman who finds her voice and fights back. She faces her past trauma and overcomes her pain to blossom. She is the definition of an incredible mother who will do anything and everything for her daughter.

The MMC’s Killian, Zach and Micah, also grow tremendously in this book. Through pain, loss, heartbreak, forgiveness and healing. These men who were all dealing with their own trauma individually, come together to love, protect, and ultimately support Willow on hear healing journey.

I could go on and on about how much l love this book and this duet. This book ripped my heart out, broke it and put it back together. I’m not a crier especially while reading. The 1st time a cried was a J Rose book and she has done it again with Where Wild Things Grow. I cannot say enough times what a beautiful journey this book is. Thank you for sharing this absolutely incredible story.

Full duet review:

I REALLY wanted to love this duet because it’s been on my tbr for a really long time & I’ve loved everything else that I’ve read by j rose. I don’t know if I’m the problem & these just weren’t what I’m looking for right now in a book, but I should have stopped reading in book 1 🥹

The potential for this series was 10000% there. The plot line and the idea of Briar valley was so good. Something that fell off for me from the start is that I didn’t like Lola. So when everyone loved her and was grieving her death, I struggled a bit (also particularly when a few scenes made it seem like Lola was more important to the guys than Willow was, there’s literally a scene at the start of book 1 where killian says “if Lola wants her gone I’ll dump her back in the woods”).

Book 1 was super insta lovey in my opinion, for a fmc that’s been abused for 10 years. I would’ve loved more angst & relationship building. I also feel like killian was the favourite (for both willow & Ari) and you never want that in a why choose 🤷‍♀️

At the end of book 1 when she flees, her being left alone at the cabin was super unrealistic.

The plot line itself was so good, I just didn’t get hooked reading it 🥹

Willow has endured a tragic + brutal life . The only shining light she has is her daughter, Arianna . That is until she + Arianna escape to the small town of Briar Valley where they meet three men . The Grump - Killian, The Clown - Zach + The Silent One - Micah (who is Zach’s twin) . Small town U.K living, why choose, never ending tragedy + heartbreak but so much life + light all tied up in one perfect bow .

Wow this book is heartbreakingly tragic from start to finish + it will leave you an absolute emotional wreck but in the best way possible . This book picks up exactly where book one left off . In the run again, hiding in the safe house + trying to protect her daughter from the evil in this world . So many emotions - highs, lows, ups + downs, loss and heartbreak, but with so much fierceness and determination . These men know how to love hard + Willow is the glue that holds this found family together .

This is the second book in the Briar Valley series + it cannot be read as a standalone .

PLEASE CHECK THE TWs !!!

This book was given to me for honest review from Valentine PR + Literary Management .

J. Rose has become one of my favourite authors this year and I am currently working my way through her books. The next book on my list of hers was “Where Wild Things Grow” which is book two in the Briar Valley duet. I could not wait to read this book because I loved the first book so much and needed to know what happened to my beloved characters.
J. Rose is a beautiful writer and wrote the perfect conclusion for Willow, Kill, Zach, and Micah plus little Ari, I am actually tearing up writing this because of how beautiful it is. Over the course of this final book, I cried my heart out. J. Rose wrote scenes that tore my heart out and scenes that stitched that broken heart back together. The plot brought me to my knees and I could not stop myself from reading this book in one sitting.
I am not going to go into too much detail about the final book in this duet because it is too special to spoil. All I will say is that these characters are beautiful and J. Rose did their story justice. I will never forget the beautiful atmosphere of Briar Valley and its fascinating people. J. Rose, you have me in awe of your creative mind.

4.5 🌟

This book 2 of the Briar Valley Duet.

As with all books, coming to an end always has me not wanting to finish it. But this book did not disappoint at all.

It picks up where book 1 is left off and with all the unknowns and everything up in the air. Willow and Ari are hiding out. The family has fallen apart.

A tragic loss brings them back though to Briar Valley despite the fears of being found again. Relationships are mended, and the love between Willow and her guys just grows. I absolutely love Killian, Zach, and Micah. The way they grow through this book aswell as helping Willow through all her hard times.

We have a few crossovers from the blackwood and Sabre characters, and I always love it when we get a glimpse of them. Willow and Harlow end up forming a great friendship based on their past experiences and Harlow supporting Willow through her interviews.

Despite difficulties and some hard trying times, this story comes to a conclusion with a HEA.

Once again I'm sad to be leaving these characters behind. But can't wait to see whats coming next from J Rose

4.5/5 stars!
"I spent a decade living in empty spaces - the place between existing and living. The desolation. The darkness. The unknown. But that space I mentioned? Well, that's where wild things grow."

This found family gives me all the feels. I am so happy to be in this small town with people that take care of one another no questions asked. The hurt and the pain this whole town suffers feels so raw and real. The mental health representation and the struggles with anxiety and depression are so passionately done I hurt with them. This single mom has the most love and fight I've ever seen. The spice is top tier, and this family is just precious. This book gave me all the feels, and I was so invested in these characters. I am so happy to see a HEA for them all.

This is the second book in the duet of a small town, why choose romance. Single parent trope with a little taboo mixed in and a lot of spice.
