As we get older. -with less muscle, we burn fewer calories and begin to put on the pounds. However, we can move muscle loss and weight gain in the other direction through strength training. Enlarging muscle cells, through increased nerve reactivation and awakening of ‘sleepy’ stimulating cells, increases beneficial enzyme production, which in turn improves the body’s ability to process oxygen and fuel (food), leading to greater overall body strength.
Now everyone would love to have a fountain of youth, and recent research suggests that it’s closer than you think. There are areas of your cells’ DNA called telomeres that tell the cell when to replicate. The problem is that every time a cell divides, some of the telomeres are used up--we have only so many times that a cell can divide before it’s done.
In a study of twins published two years ago, researchers found that telomere length was tied to physical activity. The more active the person was, the longer the telomeres, so the longer the cells can keep dividing--thus keeping you younger.
What does that mean for you? You don’t have to run marathons or lift mountains every day. All you have to do is move--yard work, dancing, walking, jogging, swimming. If it involves movement, it counts. You have access to the real fountain of youth. What are you waiting for?
Use this book to keep you moving, motivated and healthy in body and soul
This is one of the best exercise books I’ve read, or let say more as an inspirational book. I think after reading this book you’ll have the same feeling as mine. I felt the need to start my goal based on my own fitness level rather than others level, we all have different fitness levels depending on our body. I now understand that losing weight is not about doing strenuous activities or killing my body with different rigorous exercises. It’s about techniques, such as breathing techniques while doing an exercise. I think that you will find this book unique; it’s not like other exercise books where all I can see are programs and recommended machines to use! I think this book is perfect as a gift to someone who wants to lose weight. It inspired me and I think it will also inspire and trigger others to start living a healthy life.
