An Alpha's Path -
Loved it! Great writing, great story, engaging characters and plenty of steam! I loved the whole steamy hotel room scene!! One of the hottest I have read in a while! It was so sensual and seductive!! I had to read it a couple times I liked it so much!
I can not wait to read more of this series! Kade was awesome, Melanie could have been more decisive. Overall a nice read that had an awesome first encounter!
A very nice start to a promising series. I am eager to see where this author takes us!

This is the second book in the Redwood Pack series and it really delivers. Such a great story that had depth.
Jasper is a really interesting character and Willow has such inner strength making her a great match for him. I loved the dynamic of all the characters.
This book has a very different feel from the first book because it takes a very dark turn. The plot involves a power struggle with another pack that I suspect will carry through several books. There are some really heavy scenes due to this conflict and some may be uncomfortable for folks. Torture is never a favorite thing to read, for me personally.
Sometimes it is a little tricky to figure out the timeline and determine how much time has passed.
I loved the supporting characters and can not wait for their stories. The Jamesons are a big family and I hope we get all the siblings romances. Gotta say I am crushing on a few of the brothers!
The steamy is there but doesn't take over the story. There is plenty of meat on the bones of this tale. Really enjoyable love scenes that do not overpower the overall plot.
It leaves you with a cliffhanger and a tease for the next book. Now I have to jump into the next one ASAP, lucky me it is already out so I do not have to wait.

Two for one, the first two books in the Redwood Pack Series in one... I couldn't pass up buying both books in paperback format to share with others. I have previous read the book in digital format (eBook), Rereading again cause I really enjoyed them from the first time and when got it in the mail I was like hot diggity darn (those who know me personally, know that I almost never revisit & read a book for second time...)
Alpha's Path:
Mel has had her nose in the preverbal book working to obtain her degree. Now that she has graduated, Larissa sets Mel on blind date. A date with the some one that could possibly change Mel view of somethings ...
Kane has been down that path of finding a mate but it ended in disaster of sorts... He has never desired to traverse in that direction again! But it all changes when he "scents" Mel...

Jasper, has been coming to the bakery Willow for the last couple of weeks... But it's not just bakery goodies that has him desiring to return but the owner, Willow. Willow's "scent" calls to Jasper and has him returning frequently (everyday that the bakery is open)...
A rival pack kidnaps Willow, using her as a pawn...
The questions would be why, what is underlining reasoning and is someone in the Redwood Pack being traitor and helping the rival pack.
Enjoyable & interesting book to read...Anyone who enjoys paranormal were/shifter books this is one you may wanna read

The first book in this pack did not do the stories justice. I wasn't sure I was going to continue to the second, but I enjoyed it just enough I moved forward.
The second book made me laugh, sob, fear, stress and just generally hang on by my fingernails most of the story. This pack of shifters is very worth reading and Carrie Ann Ryan is on my Must Read list now.

These were two pretty good reads. I enjoyed the writing, the plot lines and the interactions between our alpha and our heroine. I wasnt as keen on Melanie (the heroine from the first book), bit too indecisive and meh for me, but overall they worked well. Nice addition to this genre.

Fraught with typos and grammatical errors. Characters were so one dimensional at times as to be cartoonish. Poorly written overall.

An Alpha's Path is a quick sexy intro to the Redwood World.
Sometimes I like a short read just to break up all the full length novels I read all the time. I started this one and was instantly engaged and sucked in. After which I read all the books non stop that are out so far for this series.
I usually don't like when a couple in a book hit it off in the 1st chapter but with this book and series its expected due to the wolf mating process written so well in this series that it doesnt throw me off at all.
Melanie and Kade are the 1st couple we meet in the Redwood Series and all though its a short story we get to follow them through the entire series so its great that we fall for the characters and get to see their story still unfold.
I felt the flow of this novella was easy, I was instantly attached to the wolves in the redwood series just from this short read and can now call my self a Redwood Fangirl :)
I give this prequel into the redwood series 4 out of 5 only because I wish it would have gone on forever BUT that's what books 2 and 3 and 3.5 and 4 are for right :)
If you like a little introduction and a short sexy read to wet your appetite for these Redwood Alpha's grab this on and settle in cause your gonna be buying the rest even before its over.
A TASTE FOR A MATE REVIEW
WOW!!!! I thought the taste I got from the prequel/book 1 was what made me love the Redwood pack....well after reading book 2 IM IN LOVE!!! I want a redwood alpha for myself please.
I literally forgoed all my Mom and wife duties for 2 days cause of this series and I'm not ashamed to say that I didn't care lol
What I LOVED about Jasper and Willow was that all thou they had this magnetic attraction to each other from the 1st time they saw each other, Jasper wanted to take his time and let Willow get to know him as a man before he dumped her into his world. Well his good intentions were thrown to the wind when Willow was snatched up and taken away into the evilest part of the Redwood World. Poor willow but fear not Jasper is already hot on her trail and willing to take the "lets take it slow" path right out of it all just to make sure she will no longer be harmed.
The one thing that I loved and hated at the same time was how Carrie Ann wrote Willow's pain and confusion thru out this book. I loved that it was written so well that I felt her pain but I hated it cause I wanted to reach into the book and rip out Corbin's (the bad guy) throat with my bare hands. That's how you know a book is well written, when you feel everything that the characters are feeling.
I love Willow and Jasper together. I think that they complement each other very well.
You get to meet and get to know the other brothers a little bit more in this book which helps you get attached to them and count the days till their books are released.
I give A Taste for a Mate 5 stars, I couldn't help but feel everything from this book and that's how you know your reading a 5 star novel.

An amazing night together, one that has both of them dreaming and wanting more. Kade has found a possible mate. But he has been through this before, she still has a choice. Melanie is also the possible mate to another. Will Melanie be able to accept that werewolves even exist? Will Kade's love be enough?
Even though Melanie is frustrating and we know she should just accept his love and forget everything else. I know if I were in the same spot, I don' know what I would have chosen. Melanie come form a science back ground and werewolves DO NOT EXIST in her world!! In the end a great start to a series. Kept me interested and wanting more.

Working and owning a bakery is all Willow wants to do. Jasper, a very cute man she is attracted to has been coming in everyday for breakfast. Willow has no clue the town is full of werewolves from the redwood pack. Jasper's wolf wants to mark Willow as mate. He is afraid of frightening her. He knows she does not know of werewolves. Finally he asks her out and she accepts and is excited to go with him. When Willow goes to close up, several men abduct her. They keep mentioning Jasper and how he hard marked her. The only thing he had done was wipe flour off her face, she didn't understand. She is terrified and knows they are going to torture and kill her. The kidnappers bring her back to the leaders of a opposing pack. She learns real quick that werewolves do exist and are not just from legends. Jasper goes to pick Willow up and sees her store is torn up and she is gone. His werewolf nose kicks in and he knows who took her. Will he get to Willow in time? The drive to find his mate and to save her is over powering. But the opposing pack may be using Willow to get Jasper (the beta) right were they want him. Kidnapping Willow is not the only thing they are doing to try to take out the Redwood pack.
The story is fast paced and very action packed. The opposing pack is just EVIL! You are on pins and needles wanting Jasper to hurry up and get to Willow. Willow has a strong will and when her mind is made up sticks with it. Jasper just wants his mate and will do anything to get her to safely. Awesome read. Makes you fall in love with the redwood pack. Huge cliffhanger...mad but excited to read book 3!

If you're looking for a shifter series with love scenes that don't over-power the story, this is a good place to start. The stories are enjoyable, and the characters are well developed. Looking forward to seeing how the series grows.

Fabulous introduction to a new series! I instantly fell in love with the characters and was sucked into the Redwood Pack! Fan for life! An Alpha's Path was just the right amount of awesome to draw you in and make you need the next book immediately.
Carrie Ann Ryan steps up the anti with A Taste for a Mate. With the appearance of a conjured demon, the Redwood pack could be in some serious trouble. Experience Ryan's new and exciting twists in werewolf lore. She takes a darker than usual approach by adding magic and demons to the mix. I wasn't sure how it was all going to come together at first, but I was very pleased with the result. A delightful world of magic and intrigue hidden within our own.
The two main characters of the book are Jasper and Willow. I love the fact that Jasper waited seven weeks before asking Willow out on a date. It's so "human" that he was a little insecure. Both characters grow and change as their story progresses and as a reader I love to see those changes.
Ryan brings her story to life with beautifully vivid imagery, witty humor, and lots of sexual tension. Sink your teeth into this exciting and sexy love story. You won't be disappointed.

Oh hot daym is all I have to say. Where to begin (tapping chin) so Mel is a scientist that is wrapped up in her work and NEVER goes out soooo she is setup on a "sex" date to burn off some steam with no commitments. Mel shows up to find Kade... Hello hotness.... And is attracted immediately to the hot man before her. She feels there is something different but has no idea what... After some unbelievable events (can't tell ya) she can't handle the events she is thrown into as she is a hummmm, black and white kinda gal. In her life there is NO grey an in Kades life he lives grey lol
Now we move into the 2nd half. We have Jasper who with kade is an amazing builder. One day goes into a bakery owned by Willow. He continues to come back day after day but she doesn't know his name. Finally gets the courage to ask and plan to go on adage with him but... That doesn't happen! Kidnapped by enemies it puts Jasper in a destruction course and decision making that both characters have unfinished feelings about events that happen (again illll never tell) so read this book and find out for yourself. They are amazing books that the series grows and gets better and better.

Cliff hanger but not on the centric couple.
I will read more because the secondary characters of Adam, Reed, and Maddox intrigued me. I'd like to read abut their happy matings.

An Alpha's Path
I am hooked, OMG. I started reading this and could not put it down. I proceeded to finish this and the next one in one sitting, there was no putting them down. It had an interesting story that kept me interested from the moment that I started reading and characters that you will fall in love with. I am very glad that I had the chance to read this and would recommend this book to everyone who loves paranormal reads.

This was an awesome read, that I finished in one sitting. The characters grab you and you want to see them overcome everything in there way, the story keeps you interested from the moment you start reading and it moves along at a perfect pace from beginning to end, not letting you down. This has to be read, once you have you will be needing the next book.

Kade and Mel story
Loved this short first introduction to the redwood pack.
In this world wolfs are predestined mates but have potential to have more than one.
Mel is a geeky chemist and decides to go on a blind date before starting her dream job. Kade walks into a bar for a blind date not realising he'll meet his potential mate.
Great story and action in such a small book.
Jasper and Willow story
Willow is a human baker that has the hots for her daily customer how orders a cinnamon roll and coffee everyday. Little does she know he's a shifter and willow is his potential mate.
In this story the central pack make a big entry to the rest of the books.
I love that jasper doesn't hd back to romance willow. A lot more action and fighting but also great HEA

I absolutely loved both of the books. I have to addmit Jasper is my favorite out of the two, but I loved both couples. Fun, intriquing, and sexy at the same time. In an Alpha's Path you are introduced to the Jamesons and the Redwood Pack. I fell in love with all the brothers and of course Edward and Patricia. It was a great introduction into the workings of their family and pack. Great book to get you to want the next one. In A taste for a mate you get Jasper's story. I adore him and Willow. They are so cute together even though Jasper has a few face palm moments. I really connected with the whole series and I can't wait to continue the story line. Most excited for Maddox's book!

Book 1 was short and a little too tidy for my liking. My summary - Girl meets up with boy for a one night stand. Boy gets overly excited and wolf comes out. Girl gets scared and leaves. One month later girl misses boy/wolf and goes to him, packing up life as she knew it throwing in her job, etc. Wolf bites girl to mark her as his and they live HEA. Nice :)
Book 2 was much more indepth and I enjoyed it more for the most part. However I am not a fan of inner dialogue in stories and this pack had a tendency to talk to their 'inner wolves'. The story also had witches and magic and at times felt more like a fairy tale, IMO. Not a bad book just not my cup of tea.

This volume is absolutely sexiness personified and totally blush inducing!! Wow!! So hot I nearly combusted; many blessed times!!
The psychotic dudes are badder than bad, and not in a good way. They have clearly lost their ever-loving minds by doing what they are. None in their right frames of mind would go to the lengths the Centrals do in order to eradicate the Redwoods. Despite the ball-busting punches the Centrals are packing, though, I have unwavering faith that the Redwoods will kick their tails to high Hell and back again! Go Redwoods!!
Can't wait to start volume two; so I won't. ;)

Omg. I fell in love w/all Carrie Ann Ryan's characters. Kade is so sexy & dominate. I love that about him. Melanie is perfect to boss him around. They r a perfect fit. Jasper is so calm yet powerful. He hides it well but can't when Willow is around. He loses all motor skills & acts sillly. I love that Willow owned a bakery. Makes me crave cinnamon rolls. I also enjoyed meeting Reed, Adam, & Cailin. I can't wait to read the rest of these books & see how the characters evolve w/in the pack. These books r such a smooth read. I didn't wanna put it down. Ryan's writing just glides from page to page.

This is a 2 book collection. First book features Kade, heir to the Redwood Pack and his mate Melanie. This is the introduction to the Redwood pack. We are introduced to the Redwood Pack, it's members, the pack dynamics. It was a great book.
The second book is about the pack Beta Jasper, and his mate Willow. Here we learn how the pack lives, it's territories and more about it's enemies. I enjoyed this book more than the first one, there was more going on. I am now starting Volume 2 of the series.

I loved the sexiness factor and the stories themselves. I really want the rest of the series now. I also love that while each book deals with different couple, the previous couples are still brought into the story so you get to see how they are doing and what they are up to. I loved this book and especially loved that I won it for free from a giveaway on Goodreads. I can't wait to get more of the series.

The plot and the characters were good the biggest complaint that I have is there was to many spelling and grammatical errors. I keep forgetting that the author has trouble with this.
other than that the story reads great. First with Kade and Melanie Then Jasper and Willow. I did get that they loved each other they said it so many times. I can't wait till they somehow take care of the demon, Caym.

Almost didn't make it through the first book. The dialogue was stilted and formal and there were a lot of grammatical errors at first. But as I continued to read, it got better. I liked the second book in this pack better than the first, which seemed to end very abruptly. There is no doubt, though, that this is some hot, hot reading.

I got this volume for a very reasonable price and it was worth it. A typical shifter romance with a hero who makes mistakes but loves his mate so much that she is able to forgive him.
A decent amount of steam with an interesting storyline that kept my attention.
I will definitely be reading more from this author.

you will fall in love with the redwood pack, a close knit family that fights against evil and protects those that they love with everthing. kade and mel are the first story and right away you are rooting for them. and just gets better. you cant put it down.

October 5, 2012I loved to read supernatural books. I such a fan of it and Fantasy too. This book is so awesome that I fell in love with it already even if I didn't even win it yet:) But I am looking forwrad to be reading this book.
