Atsushi Ōkubo ( 大久保篤), also romanized as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his work on the manga series Soul Eater, which has been adapted into an anime. Okubo worked as an assistant under Rando Ayamine, on the manga series Get Backers. He also created artwork for various cards for the Lord of Vermillion game.
Atsushi Ōkubo was not a model student and was more attracted to drawing than to learning. At the age of 20, after finishing studies at a manga school where he met Rando Ayamine, the author of Get Backers, he became Rando Ayamine's assistant for two years. Finally, he won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series B.Ichi and it was published for four volumes. After the end of his last manga, he created Soul Eater, still for Square Enix's Gangan magazine, which brought him worldwide success.
And the madness continues as teams split up. One goes to the moon where the Kishin is, the other goes to find Crona and end what he did. Most of the focus was on the moon team though, but I am guessing the next one (which I have to buy) will also be about Crona.
It was an awesome volume, though also quite a bit sad. :(
Maka and the yang get assigned a mission Execute corona Maka of course doesn’t want to and kid doesn’t either so they plan to go along but not finish Maka uses her soul perception she doesn’t find corona but finds the kishen On the moon Justin is there also Kid and the teachers are in charge of going to the moon The Thompson sisters write a will When they get to the moon there’s multiple clowns with unlimited madness so they aren’t Able to be beat Justin and stein go head to head

The fight on the moon (never thought I 'd be saying that) was tense. The Kishin is not to be taken lightly. I am still very confused on what the Kishin actually is (are?) but I love how mad they are. It makes for interesting fighting scenes. Maka and company finally know where Crona is and are getting ready to make their stand. They have orders to eliminate him but they have their doubts. I'm sure the next volume will be heartbreaking in one way or another.
Soul Eater, Vol. 21 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next five chapters (88–92) of the on-going manga series.
Death the Kid heads to the Lost Island where he finds Eibon, who makes Death the Kid doubtful about Shinigami, his father, because he thinks that his own ideas of Order can be the source of madness.
Meanwhile back at the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) after a sky-whaling mission, the Spartoi squad learns that Crona's death penalty has been added to Shinigami's list and it cannot be reversed. Maka Albarn uses her own Soul Perception Ability combined with Soul Evans' death scythe power to find Crona. Instead, her ability led her to the source of madness, and found out that the Kishin is hidden on the moon.
The DWMA, with the death scythes remaining, Death the Kid, and two of the NOT class, is preparing to its most important mission: landing on the moon and get rid of the Kishin where Justin and his army of Clowns are waiting for them, while the Spartoi is going to Italy to find Crona at the place where Maka Albarn and Crona met for the first time.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Atsushi Ōkubo. The tankōbon splits into two storylines: The war on the Moon, where the DWMA departs to get rid of Kishin. Meanwhile, the Spartoi heads to Italy to capture and eventually kill Crona.
All in all, Soul Eater, Vol. 21 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.
So the plot took an interesting turn on where the kishin was hiding at. Apparently the kishin is on the moon. That's a pretty good hiding place to be honest and it got me thinking about how some myths blamed the full moon for the craziness for people. Maybe I'm thinking to much into it?
Also the bear head guy managed to save his soul during his battle with Justin so that way interesting to see him in the mirror. Both he and Maka confirm the kishin is on the moon through they're powerful ability to look at soul wavelengths.
Maka was only able to see the kishin after trying to find crona since shinigami put crona on the hit list. Members of the spartoi are having trouble coming to terms with that. Maka is determined to find crona and will try to get her back before its too late. I think crona can come back to some sanity but with Medusa haunting her like a ghost, it'll be a hard journey.
Kid went looking for ebion through the magnetic field again. While talking with ebion, kid question about his dads involvement with ebion and the way the state of the world is at. The translations I've been reading made it a bit hard to understand what was going on during this section. I think what ebion was trying to say was the old way of looking at order isn't working anymore. I might be wrong but I think that's what the translations were trying to say.
The battle on the moon begins to take shape while most of spartoi, except kid, go to Italy to the church were Maka and soul first encountered crona.
More battles to come and it's very exciting.
On to the next book.

Finally the final fight against the Great Devourer begins. The next volumes promise to be epic. I can't wait to read the next manga especially with everything that happens since the last few volumes. On the way to the moon!
Enfin le combat final contre le Grand Dévoreur commence. Les prochains tomes se promettre d'être épique. J'ai hâte de lire le prochain tome surtout avec tout ce qui se passe depuis quelques tomes. En route vers la lune !
Still re-reading the entire series, though I'm gonna knock 2 stars off for this volume. The quality drop was pretty steep as soon as the Battle on The Moon began, especially when the character Kaguya was introduced, or us having to care about random new characters we'd never seen before, or the ridiculously stereotypical new Death Scythes, or Maka suddenly being powerful enough to envelop the entire world (!) with Soul Perception.
These covers have been pretty righteous these last few volumes!
Oooooh things are starting to heat up as all the story pieces begin the slow rise to the climax. I can't wait to see how it all goes down.
The artwork in this volume was particularly fantastic! I once described this series to someone as a "punk rock comic" and I think the artwork in this volume just solidified my description. It was great. I LOVED the way the clowns looked near the end (particularly the White Rabbit one)
Finally get a little closer to the final battles as Maka and Soul find Crona and the main Death Academy forces are about to engage Kishin's forces. The idea of fighting on the moon especially one that looks like that is pretty awesome and I do love that since this story revolves around madness and insanity that they can just fly an airship to the moon.
So many new characters are introduced in so little time. I recognized two of them from NOT so perhaps it's less abrupt than it seems but I doubt there will be anywhere near enough time to develop them alongside the characters who are finalizing their arcs. A solid volume all-said but nothing really stands out.
Clearly building to a massive (and massively awesome) ending. Kid, Maka and the other Spartoi attempt to locate Crona on Shinigama-sama's orders and end up locating instead. This sets the scene for the massive battle to come.
I thought the previous two volumes stumbled a bit, but we're back on track with this one. The location of the Kishin is discovered. New characters and new enemies are introduced. Maka locates Crona. Things are building to a head.
This was a solid volume, but pretty much contained a bunch of fights with newer characters that I didn't have any particular feelings towards. This was definitely a lead up to some of the final battles.
In the middle of this, I had the realization that Soul Eater ends with a fight on the moon… so Fire Force HAS to end with a fight on the sun!! The two series are connected this way. Sun and Moon. Day and Night. Yin and Yang.
THIS IS INSANE !!!! SO KID IS FIGHTING WITH THE ADULTS ON THE MOON ?! AND JUSTIN IS INSANE !! CAN KID BEAT HIM OMG ?! AND MAKA AND SOUL ARE GOING AFTER CRONA WHO IS ALMOST JUST AS BAD AS THE KISHIN AT THIS POINT !!?? BE SO FUCKING FR RNNNNNNNNN !!!!!
Pretty awesome series, I love most of the main characters! The story’s alright but still very enjoyable tho I think I prefer the anime much more😁👌⚔️📖❤️
