Neil and Emily make friends with Tuff, a Jack Russell terrior who lives on a farm, but when Neil and Tuff explore the local woods they find traps and other dangers.
Prolific author of animals stories for younger children, in particular dog and cat stories. As well as a Puppy Tales and Kitten Tales series she has written the Pony Tales series of pony books.
There is some speculation that the author does not actually exist but is a psuedonym for another author or authors. One author mentioned as writing under the name of Jenny Dale is Liss Norton, who incidentally is also said to be one of the ghostwriters for the Lucy Daniels Animal Ark series.
Very action-packed and a lovely introduction to children about the horrors of animal poaching. Because lambs are my favorite animals, the lambs being stolen was upsetting, but realistic considering how ruthless animal abusers often are. Tw for slight blood, animal death, and animal cruelty, as well as the poachers threatening to kill the main character by locking him away and letting him starve. A more serious book than the usual puppy patrol adventure.

A cute book that covers the issue of poaching and wire traps on animals. There are several animals that are hurt in this book and the poacher is planning on doing something with the Otters, but it never says what. So, not for the sensitive.
I liked it but i found the pacing a bit slow in the middle but the end was fast paced and neil is a danger magnet, im glad no harm came to him especially with those poachers.
