Ridiculous.

Unable to finish, simplistic and idiotic plot. Even Hollywood can do better. I hate to think this is how the world sees America

Ameristocracy is a wonderful, albeit common, concept; secret societies commanding a supposed democracy, scandals bigger than the country that they take place in.
Written by an Australian, (and when read by an American) it is interesting to see how outsiders view our government, even if it is a fictional conspiracy theory. Moxham clearly did his research when it comes to the structure of the U.S. government, which sounds trivial but, if he had failed to do so, the story would've fell flat.

The main character, Jack, is thoroughly developed and draws one into an otherwise improbable story. Said story, while short, showcases the author's ability to create a fictional world along with a conflict and build upon that conflict to bring the novella to a conclusion.

The only criticism I can come up with is the inclusion of seemingly unnecessary details and exclusion of ideas that make one think "Okay, well what about that?"

Overall, this is a quick, refreshing read that allows one to temporarily have explanation for otherwise catastrophic events in U.S. presidential history.

Too Many Questions

This is my first time reading this author. There were way too many questions and no real answers. The author did not take the time to develop the story and the characters.
There are two that come to mind, the first was when his Dad died Very poorly done and the second was when they were at Camp David. As the president was in a bathroom, a masked man runs into the room and puts a gun to his head. But some how Jack gets shot. (That would never happen) and at that point the attacker gets shot. BUT, no one takes off the mask to see the attackers face, really? That was a crucial scene and the author rushed it.
This was a great story and a great plot.
My only suggestion for the author, is that he slow it down. He rushed through some of the meatier scenes and he could have made this into a much better book.

This book was thoroughly enjoyable. The plot was believable and shed new light to the Conspiracy theory! The characters were *real* although I feel they could have been a little more developed, But they were still interesting. There was enough mystery in it to keep you interested while also allowing the reader to keep up with what is happening. The one thing I noticed and did not understand was the ages of the characters added after each was introduced to the storyline. Their ages were extraneous and added nothing to the story (with the exception of the 12 year old boy). I wish it had been longer. I didn't want it to end. Mr. Moxham did a wonderful job with this book. I give it a 4-1/2 stars.

**I just learned that this book has been totally re-worked to resolve the editing issues.

Where to begin? Well, it was free. The concept of the book was good, but the dialogue was very immature. Yes, I have - and often enjoy - YA, but this was more like 4th grade. Who knew that guns (repeatedly) sound like "Blam! Blam! Blam!"? And when one screams it is...what was it? "Arrrrrgggghhhhh!".

Seriously?

My favorite attempt at a simile went something like "It was like a stalemate - both sides weren't making progress". Uh, isn't that a stalemate - not sorta like one?

The action was laughable and beyond - even remotely - believable.
If you start this book with comedy in mind - I think you will enjoy it. If you read it as a political thriller - well....don't.

To end on a positive note - it was a short read with no big words or complex thinking needed :)

What a fast paced secret society battle went on for a long time...

This was a real action packed story of how a secret society which included the vice-president and some secret service men etc, we're out to take out the latest president as they had president Abe Lincoln and Jack Kennedy if they these conspirators were not taken out first. Just who will win? I received this ebook for free and in return, here is my honest review. Great job Paul! By Angela

It's an action based story without a lot of profoundness. It's more the shooting between the good and bad guys. I miss a good story behind it. The reading was more like watching a 'crime' serie on the TV. For all those who like action, shooting and so on they'll probably like this story.

I found this to be a fast paced book. The plot was well thought out and the characters were believable. It was a good read. The only suggestion I might make is that the author make this into a full length book.

Very short. Tot a bit shoot-'em-up in the end. As another reader mentioned (either here or Amazon), it got to read a bit like the Batman (tv version) show. "Pow!", "Bam!", "Splat!", etc.

A good concept for a story but needed more development.

Good story

Good story line but not very well written. More experience writing and Mr. Moxham is capable of writing a good mystery.
