Dare Diary

Rate this book
I was a good girl. I was an academic over-achiever, a varsity all-star athelete and a straight-as-an-arrow all-American girl with ambition and a future that was all planned out. I had no time for friends, love, and romance. Then came the summer when Erika came to stay with us- and she turned everything upside down! Here's the story of one humorous, embarrassing, romantic and downright decadent week in which I did things I really didn't think I was capable of. It's all taken right from the pages of my personal diary so excuse me if there's a little TMI. Can you handle it? I dare you to try!

Amy was born, raised and currently resides in south florida. She is a self-proclaimed beach bum, jock and borderline nympho who spends much of her time finding new ways to combine all three into one activity. When she's not doing that, she's holed up in her neat, cozy little apartment either reading or writing. To date the only book she will dare to publish is her sex-laden tell-all novelette Dare Diary which is now available on amazon.com.

Getting caught masturbating, skinny dipping, public beach sex, threesomes, exhibitionism, voyeurism, groping in an adult book store, servant girls, an orgy house. These are a few of the delights the reader will encounter in this wonderfully-written erotic masterpiece. While the setup sounds a bit shallow (good girl gone bad under the influence of an older, sex-starved family friend), the story is actually surprisingly interesting and multi-layered. There's a lot going on here. It's a story of sexual awakening, adventure, friendship and ultimately love. And sex. A lot of sweaty, heated, passionate sex. Amy is a great storyteller and a great writer in a genre where both qualities are rare. Get this one. You're not likely to see one of this quality for quite some time. That is, unless Ms. Black writes another one.

I'm not a big fan of adult literature. Ninety percent of it is written by horny semi-literate men who know absolutely nothing about telling a story and the sex is described in the most wooden and sophomoric way. For this reason I usually end up feeling more annoyed and insulted than titillated. Amy Lee Black to the rescue!
Dare Diary is essentially a narrative based on Ms. Black's personal journal. What we get is a very candid, unblinking and delightfully voyeuristic look at a very busy week in her life. Amy is a self-described straight all-American girl who is too busy over-achieving and planning for her future to have any fun. All that changes when a family friend and his wild, uppredictable daughter Erika come to visit for a week. Erika is Amy's perfect opposite. She's a sly, seductive bisexual, wild girl who insinuates herself into Amy's controlled, comfortable life with the subtlety of a bull in a china shop. Soon Amy is questioning her own structured life and ultimately her own sexuality. It's a fascinating story made even more exciting by Amy's rich, shameless writing style. She doesn' t simply describe the situations she finds herself in- sex included- in the normally trite and cliche- ridden language I described earlier. Amy knows how to paint a picture with words but the explicit detail is tempered with humor and honesty and that is a rare thing in this type of book.
Speaking of sex, there is there is a good bit of it. And it is explicit. But it's not the gratuitous, random sex that takes place in most adult literature. It's all a part of the story and it's beautifully set up and narrated. I don't want to spoil any of the story by mentioning who does and who doesn't do it with who, but there is some exquisite sexual tension between several of the characters including some between Amy and Erika and Amy and Erika's father.
All things considered, this is a far better book than anything I've read in this genre and that includes the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. It's believable yet outrageous and has a little something to appeal to just about anyone's kink. If 50 Shades intrigued you, I highly recommend you give this book a try. So far it's only sold as an ebook in Amazon.com's Kindle store. Check it out and read the sample of the first chapter. You'll see right away that Dare Diary is a real standout. I myself am hoping Ms. Black makes good on her threat to write a sequel.

I first got into reading erotic literature because of all the hype surrounding Fifty Shades of Grey. I read it to see what the fuss is about. I still don't know what the fuss is about. So I started looking around for something that wasn't so repetitive and mediocre and after a few stinkers written by illiterates who likely never had sex, I found this gem. Dare diary is the holy grail of this genre. Well written, witty, fascinating and downright HOT. Amy Lee Black does a stellar job of allowing us the voyeuristic thrill of peeking into a very decadent week in her life. She doesn't rattle off a list of stock, robotic descriptions of what's going on, she paints a total picture and really puts you there watching the action. And unlike 90% of "erotic" books out there, Dare Diary doesn't flop in all the areas that make a good read a good read. The characters are real, the sex is HOT and the situations Amy finds herself in are interesting. There is the right combination of tension, kink and downright dirty sex. If this book doesn't get your blood up, either you've been neutered or you don't have a pulse. Not much else I can say about this except: Amy, will you marry me?

This book is a good one. Mostly when I read erotic lit, I find it just titillating and interesting. Rarely do I find it outright arousing. But Dare Diary made me interrupt my reading on more than one occasion to relieve myself. I don't even know if I can say that on here but it's true. This is the hottest book I've read so far. And it's not just the sex that really got me into it. Amy Black really knows how to tell a story and what a story it is. It's not just a few tired old plot devices strung together to set up sex scenes. We actually get to peek into a period of a young girl"s life where she begins to blossom sexually and comes to terms with her own sexuality. A lot of it is, for me anyways, very relatable territory. One situation, and I will not reveal which, actually made me gasp as it seemed as though Amy was writing about something that actually happened to me. Dare Diary is Amy Black's first published work. I hope it is not her last. Hey Amy, I DARE you to write a sequel!

Holy CRAP this book is hot! And not just because of the sex. Amy Black can flat out WRITE (unlike 90% of so-called erotic "writers" out there)and she sets up a fascinating story, sets a mood of sexual tension and anticipation and BANG! takes us on an arousing voyeuristic ride through one hot, sexy week in her life. If you want to get titillated mentally as well as physically, like your sex detailed and HOT and you're tired of cornball, cliche'd smut, THIS is the book you're looking for. Don't take my word for it, go to amazon.com and check it out. You can read nearly the whole first chapter free. The only negative I can think of is it's not another 500 pages long. I want more of this so Amy, PLEASE PLEASE give us a sequel!

One of the most insipid (useless) worthless things I've ever had the displeasure of reading. You can ignore the [painfully obvious] 'reviews' of her little friends on here. It's valueless.
