I’ve read a lot of books with Blake as a side character, so now I need to get his story. This is a very short prelude to his book. I’m intrigued by how they met and it left off at a really good point to get a reader motivated to grab up the next in the series.
I love romance, almost every kind. And if it comes accompanied with hot sex, even better!. One dangerous night tells us what happens in only one night between Blake and Tiffany that meet in a bar because Tiffany is representing a mysterious guy and has a secret file that Blake will pay a lot of money for. There are a lot of unsolved mystery. Why they meet and who they are leave us claiming for the next book. So why only 2 stars? because it is too short even for a 1st installment
And ride they did. Dang, Blake's story must be really good. Who is this Tiffany Snow? She's either crazy or desperate to f*ck someone like Blake over. She might have won the first round but Blake seems to be the type who loves a good chase. And he's also the type who always catches his prey.
Blake goes undercover and after a night with a beautiful woman he wakes naked and sick after being drugged. The list is missing and so is the woman he was with and when he leaves he and Kyle find out the woman he was supposed to meet was actually tied up. Now he is on the hunt for the woman who left him in the hotel room. Oh, what a great way to start the next book in this series!
This one was pretty predictable for a short story, but it did my job, making me interested for the next book. I have some thought about what is going to happen. It will be interesting to see if I'm right.
"One Dangerous Night" is book 2.5 in the 'Tall, Dark & Deadly' series by Lisa Renee Jones and is an introduction to "Blake" in an upcoming full length novel coming in October called "Beneath The Secrets".
I did not find much of a story-line to this novella, but more of a real teaser to Blake's story in the upcoming "Beneath The Secrets"
Although is was a real quick read, it was definitely on the 'hot' side with some suspense and intrigue thrown in.
Lisa now has me anxiously waiting for October and the full story of Blake.

My Thoughts
Even though i read Blake's story last week without this prelude, i think that i'm ok since we don't really learn too much aside from the fact that Kara is Tiffany and that yes, she slept with him and drugged him.
The interesting thing here is that there's just enough given to us to make us wonder who she is working for and what her motivation is. It's not enough that we know why Blake is there, that he's supposed to hand over information to the cartel to blackmail someone, but the question arises who is Kara in all this and who is she really working for. We never know, but we do see the beginnings of their amazing chemistry and connection.
Good storyline that was saved by being short and direct. Lauren is an in your head writer so always expect more head banter than actual communication.
The H was the typical dominant male with a soft side and possessive streak while the h was something else. This book is definitely made to give you a taste of what is to come.
Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.

This is a 6,000 word short story (28 pgs)... a lead-in to the October 15th release of BENEATH THE SECRETS which is Blake's full sized novel.
I am so glad I listened to this book first, I know without it there is a little history that we don't get! This first meeting of Blake and Tiffany is incredibly hot, leaves you so many questions and the suspense is high! There is a little preview of why Blake has become who he is, but so many questions about Tiffany are left unanswered, it's a must to listen to the next book. Eric Michael Summerer narrates this short, leaving us wanting more!
I love Lisa Renee Jones books so I wasn't surprised when Blake's story left me wanting to purchase the full story of what happens between him and the mysterious lady and his brothers. We don't know if Tiffany is Rachel or what is actually happening because when Blake wakes up he knows he has been drugged the file he was bargaining the lady with is gone and so is she. It is worth the read to get you interested in Blake's story. I am very interested in Blake Walker of Walker Security firm.
Extremely short story that leads into book three in the series. Had intrigue and an air of mystery. I liked Blake but he definitely got burned in the end. Interesting titles for each chapter. Held my interest and whet my appetite to read more.
Ms. Jones is a new to me author although she's been on my radar a while. Will look into reading some more of her books.
Not enough to get into by itself. Felt it should be part of book rather than novella. Wish it would have been included when buying the series. It adds to the 3rd book putting things in a clearer perspective with Blake and his mindset.
Blake is on a one way mission to exact revenge on the people who killed his finance. He executes a plan to get close to the man responsible. But his plans are derailed by a mysterious women.🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Blake finds himself chasing a lead. He just never expected to be someone else's lead. The fire between the two strangers was hot. This quick was an introduction to the next step in Blake's life.
Eric Michael did another good job with bringing the Walker Brothers to life.
I can’t believe it! A Walker brother played like a violin by a beautiful woman. Wait, who else can get away with that but a gorgeous woman. So now I can wait for the real book. This teaser killed it. Thanks LRJ..
I guess this is how prequels roll in Romancelandia. Spicy and well, spicy. It also gave out a mysterious flare, especially to those who knew the heroine's true identity. And now I have to include the full-length novel in my TBR because I am now damn intrigued!
I wish I had read this before "Beneath the Secrets" now I see how she got him good... I was a good short read and I'm glad to see Blake didn't kill Alvarez after reading Beneath the Secrets.
This certainly was a SHORT novella. Loved reading about Blake because he was a character in many other of Lisa Renee Jones books. Sure wish this was longer. sorta was left hanging.
ONE DANGEROUS NIGHT (Tall, Dark and Deadly 2 .5) by Lisa Renee Jones
ONE DANGEROUS NIGHT is the prequel novella to Lisa Renee Jones BENEATH THE SECRETS from her Tall, Dark and Deadly series featuring the Walker Brothers. One Dangerous Night is the introduction to Blake’s story.
Two years after the murder of his fiancé (and fellow ATF agent), Blake Walker finds himself working for Walker Security- a family run business where his contacts, motivation and revenge take on a whole new meaning. With the Alvarez Cartel high on the list of priorities, Blake arranges a meeting with woman connected to one of Alvarez’s firms only this woman didn’t seem to fit the bill.
Tiffany Snow (an alias) walked into the bar looking for the man she would take to bed. Not necessarily high on her agenda, but her need to get the file from her contact was far more pressing than keeping her morals intact. But what the man in the corner doesn’t know is that she isn’t the one he wants to meet.
Something about Tiffany tugged at Blake’s heart. Beautiful beyond his imagination, the woman didn’t strike him as the type to be working for a drug lord. Something about the regret and sorrow in her eyes, made him rethink his current situation. But after a wild night of passion, Blake wakes alone, drugged and the file is missing. And when his brother’s investigate further, they soon realize that Tiffany Snow does not exist and she is currently below their radar.
ONE DANGEROUS NIGHT is a quick read that introduces the two major players in Jones’s October release of Beneath the Secrets. Like the previous Walker brothers, Blake is smooth as silk and sexy as hell. Knowing how to treat a woman in bed must have been bred into the Walker DNA. I am looking forward to BENEATH THE SECRETS. I would have given the review a higher rating, but as a prequel novella, there just wasn't enough of a storyline to warrant or justify. It was a tease meant to grab the reader's attention...and it does.
This is another short read and a prelude to Beneath The Secrets coming out in October.
Blake is after a drug cartel lord. He seeks revenge, and awaits just the right moment to avenge the death of his fiancee. He lives hard and fast, he's in a stage where he doesn't give a sh*t about things anymore. He's blinded by fury and nothing will get on the way of getting what he wants.
He meets a woman who seems too shy for his tastes, and immediately feels a need to save her. Instinct tells him it is the first time she does an exchange, add a one night stand to that.
He thinks he knows better and that he has the upper hand... HA! Surprise, surprise, the one thing he never thought happens to him. Turns out, it may be her first time doing an exchange but it doesn't mean she doesn't know how to play cards and win at that.
Again, this was a total teaser and I cannot wait until the full story comes out.

I am a huge fan of the Tall, Dark & Deadly Series by Lisa Renee Jones. This novella is described as a "prelude" to the full-length novel telling Blake's story, "Beneath the Secrets" which will be released in October. This probably explains why I felt, even for a novella, like this book was missing something. Just as I got really interested in what was happening, it was over! While it was most-definitely sexy and had that bit of suspense and intrigue that Lisa Renee Jones writes so well, I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I usually do. But, I think that was intentional on Ms. Jones' part since our heroine's true identity is part of the mystery. I'm really looking forward to finding out more in October! 3.5/5 stars.
