I can understand why the writer didn’t discuss the Islamic part. The book moves confidently through ancient civilizations, Judaism, and Christianity, but when it arrives at the moment where most readers expect the discussion to get deeper , it suddenly stops.
A book titled Hidjab in History feels incomplete without covering the era where the hijab became most symbolically charged. You turn the last page feeling like the final chapter was left unwritten.. not because it didn’t belong, but because the author didn’t want to risk writing it.
