About the author

JOSEPH EASTWOOD was born on the 9th of June 1993, in Lancaster, England, although he’s fairly certain that he’s only a visitor on Earth. Wait unless you’re the with government, in which case, Joseph is a human being with human interests, such as reading, and not dissecting human beings in order to use them in his—ahem—fiction.

Wow! Just finished "Baroque" and I can honestly say I did not want it to end! Giovanna is such a strong character, you can almost feel her vibrance and powerful personality through the pages, definatley NOT a faery to be reckoned with! Artemisia, a loyal faery in protecting the gods, is kidnapped and tortured, never breaking her loyalty to those she has sworn to protect. Along comes a plot twist that changes everything!! "Baroque" was a fun, dark, bloody good time ( no pun intended!!) and the ending??? (or should i say "beginning"?!?) was PERFECTION :). Such an amazing lead off to what is going to be an epic series!!!

Dark fantasy / horror short story

Blood can be powerful, and when supernatural beings find out what they could be capable of with the blood of a god, there is no stopping them to get at it. Step in their protectors, faeries, who will give their lives to protect them. But all is not as it seems.

A quick read that’s dark, twisted and opens the reader up to a future series from Joseph.

This short story is full of adventure and suspense. The story holds a lot of unanswered questions which make me want to continue reading the series. I enjoyed reading this and would recommend it for anybody who wants to read something quick and adventure-filled.

I found it confusing at first but was soon drawn into the book.

Love the cover!
The story is well written and gives the reader a glimpse into a worl made up out of bloodlust and betrayel.
Short enough to be a quick read and long enough to introduce the reader to the main protagonists and their world.
