Erotic Paranormal Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, werewolves, sex toys, HEA
Nikki Sinclair doesn’t take crap from anybody—especially men. Her own failed marriage proved that men would only use her. It doesn’t matter that she longs for a man to love her, hold her, protect her, and want children with her. It just isn’t meant to be.
Alexander Gregg and Butler Roman, enforcers for Beckett’s pack, are stoic, often brutally serious wolf shifters that no pack member or outside challenger ever crosses. Their lives hold no tenderness, no softness, and no mate to complete their triad.
The Fates have gifted them with Nikki. She brings laughter and tenderness into their lives. And hell no! She is not afraid of them!
They need her to be safe and understand that sometimes giving up control does not mean weakness. All they have to do is convince her to put aside her stubbornness and accept them as her mates and the fathers of her babies.
Lynnette Bernard is a fan of Broadway, the ocean, science fiction, romance, music, movies, books, and babies. She has two babies of her own who were the perfect children who have turned out to be outstanding adults. She is a staunch advocate of “happily ever after” and changes the endings of any movie that she sees or book that she reads that doesn’t follow that rule. She has the hots for cowboys, shifters, vampires, and really nice guys, and lives her fantasies about them through her writings. The cowboys of Colorado will always hold a special place in her heart.
Nikki Sinclair is a nurse and a nurturing person. She is also voluptuously beautiful, but has little self-esteem due to her family and her ex-husband. She is also wealthy and self-conscious about it.
Alexander Gregg is the head enforcer for the Beckett Pack. Tall, dark haired, and serious, he worries about his ability to keep himself in control and protect the pack.
Butler Roman is blond and handsome and Alex’s partner and immediate subordinate. He is not in as dire a state as Alex, but is heading in that direction.
Nikki has always wanted to be married and have children, but a horrible upbringing and worse marriage have made her doubt herself and her ability to be a good mother. She is a nurturing person and a good friend who is about to get lucky. She is fated to be the mate of not one, but two of the most gorgeous and sexy men she has ever seen. They are a bit more than she expects, and that is a good thing when both she and her best friend are threatened.
I really loved this story and am definitely going to look up the first story in the series. The characters are very compelling and vividly portrayed. Nikki is a wonderful character who deserves much more than she has gotten in life so far. Mostly she really needs to be needed by someone and no one needs her as much as Alex and Butler. The plot is full of exciting twists and turns, both romantic and suspenseful. I cannot wait for the next installment of the Beckett’s Pack series.
No closure with this story, I expected some with the mother.
The h was real quick to dole out advice left and right to everyone about not letting your past make you pass up the good in front of you so you don't lose out on your future but apparently can't take her own advice. Also, this book seemed incredibly long and could have ended much sooner if there wasn't so many repeats and waffling
I rarely give small ratings and I'm really sorry when I do it (or not), but I simply couldn't finish this book. From the annoying heroine who seemed sometimes to have a double personality (and one of the personalities had no brain), to the boring sex scenes and the lack of logic...
Title: Babies For Nikki 67Author: Lynnette Bernard Menage Relationship; Shifters Book 2 of The Beckett Pack - Triad Mates

Welcome back to The Circke Three Ranch, your favorite wolf pack is once again invoved in the survival of its people as another triad works to overcome obsticles both real and perceived on the road to their happily ever after. Learn more of the infrastructure of the Beckett pack. learn Carter and Doc's history and read the length one is willing to go to keep the one's they love safe. Babies For Nikki is Lynnette Bernard's second book in the Beckett Pack - Triad Mates Seies and although it can easily stand on its own you will want to read Laurie's Loves to catch up on the other members of the pack and how Laurie, her family and even Nikki became part of the pack in greater detail. Luckily for you the third book in the series, Susannah's Saviors, is due out on February 19th, 2013 so you won't have to leave the ranch or your new friends behind.
Long may Lynnette Bernard continue with her series with so many characters to hear from and with her charm and warmth seeping into the pages of her novels you will never want to leave The Circle Three and the Becket Pack. You will once again remember why you fell in love with your own mate. Those of us who have not found our true mates yet will look into the eyes of those we meet to see if perhaps we see a hint of golden brown in their eyes and smell the wonderous indefinable scent when we are around them.
Lynnette Bernard is from a large and loving family and is also a talented author without a doubt, but she is also a survivor of life. Lynnette began writing her first book at the tender age of 14. She has known rejection of her work like most authors, but never gave up. She eventually was signed on with Siren Publishing, a smart move on their part. She has two series going at present but if you go to her website, http://www.lynnettebernard.com/ you will see she has many different novels swirling around in that busy mind of hers. I wish there was a quicker process to getting the raw ideas from her thoughts down onto paper (or computer). She is a writer through and through, like most authors she would probably bleed words if you were to cut her.
When she gets a moment to relax she likes to read almost anything she can get her hands on or go to the movies or the beach. Her greatest joy is her family, her children, brothers, sisters and mother. The strongest and greatest infuence in the making up the characteristics of her male heroes is her father. Many of the characteristics of her heroines come from Lynnette herself. In each and every book family is the main driving force. Children are nutured and loved just as Lynnette and her family cherish their children, as should we all. Her stories remind us that love shines bright in the darkness of adversity. It is how we face life's trials that makes us the people we are, fault and fallicies included. Bending is allowed but not letting it break us completely is how we grow in strength and character. Using that premiss I can honestly say Lynnette Bernard is one of the strongest women I know.
Lynnette Bernard believes in happily ever after just as most of us do. We know love is not perfect, but it can be the best thing in our lives. Sometimes we do not get it right the first time, but if we are lucky we do find it, until then we have authors like Lynnette to keep the hope of finding it alive in all of us. The creed Ms Bernard lives by would be the quote: “The heart knows what it needs.” She truly believes and lives by this quote. Lynnette said it best herself when she stated, "Every one of us has a basic need for acceptance, kindness, and love. That’s why every one of my books will always have a Happily Ever After, and the men and women will be kind and loving toward one another. Life is too hard. In my books, kindness and love will reign." Lynnette Bernard could be your neighbor or co-worker, a woman worth knowing.
Once I started this series, I haven’t been able to put it down. Lynnette Bernard continues once again to take real human issues and throw them at this group of characters who happen to also be shifters. One thing that she does in this series that has me addicted is adding new characters with each book, giving you enough of a hint to know you will see them again soon while creating their role to the point you need to know more about their story. We met Nikki in book one, she was Laurie’s best friend and hints were dropped that she had lived a rough life and been hurt beyond the point anyone should have expected. Now with her own book, we learn just what was behind the tears that Nikki shed, she was lonely and had been beaten down her whole life. With a mother who continued to remind her that she meant nothing and would never amount to anything, to an ex-husband who used her for the one thing Nikki had. Now as a nurse, she tries to hide behind the sarcasm and laughter and help everyone who is in need while hiding as she sheds the tears and longs to be held. We saw her get hurt by Laurie’s ex-husband in book one and that places her at the ranch and in the sites of Alexander and Butler, triad partners looking for their mate.
The guys are wolf shifters and in charge of protecting the pack and family. Without having a mate to calm their inner wolf down, they were beginning to believe they might have to step away from security as they were losing their grip on the emotions that were flooding their soul. When they met Nikki, they knew by the scent she was their mate, but convincing her was going to be a huge challenge.
How do you convince a stubborn woman who is afraid to allow a man to control her that she was meant to be with them when they are so demanding and alpha in their need to protect and take care of her? There is a lot of back and forth between these three as they demand she listen and she demands they accept her for who she is. She wants babies so badly but fears that the lies she has been told about her ability will make it never happen. Even with the visions they all see, she isn’t willing to risk her heart and believe in what they are telling her. It will take a big event to prove to her that she needs to close her mouth and open her eyes to see the truth.
I look forward to book 3 as we were given a peek into the story of Drew, Carter and Susannah and her story sounds intense. As with book one, Lynnette leaves some loose ends in each book while drawing attention to the next journey the reader will embark on. While the traditions are the same in the pack for each book, the personalities stand out and transport you into a new plot and intensity that makes you want to keep coming back for more. Make sure you read them in order and enjoy life on the ranch.
If you read Laurie's Loves you know very well that Babies For Nikki is the second book in Lynnette Bernard's Beckett's Wolf Pack, Triad Mates. I can't believe that I haven't found Lynnette's books before now. Her books have pretty much everything that I look for in a paranormal erotic romance, and even something or another I have ONLY seen in Lynnette's work.
After reading both Laurie's Loves and Babies For Nikki, I have put Lynnette Bernard on my MUST BE READ shelf. She is up there with authors, Shayla Black, Heather Rainier, Setta Jay, and Cara Covington (aka Morgan Ashbury). I just LOVE her books so much. They are memorable and addicting as well as sexy and SMOKING HOT!! Babies For Nikki can ONLY be read AFTER reading Laurie's Loves because we see some things that are continued in Babies For Nikki. Trust me, you don't want to ruin that. I really liked the characters in this story. I also like how the men pursue their mates once they find her. Its magical and just takes my breath away.
I found Babies For Nikki to be a breathtaking and super sweet and sexy romance. I love the strength of the characters both female and males as well as the intensity of the love that flows between them. The sex scenes are super hot and will no doubt make any woman blush...in the best way! This is another great story that gets a FIVE SHOOTING STARS from me. Can't wait to dive into book 3!
Nikki Sinclair has had enough people in her life telling her how little they value her and how unworthy she is, that when she meets Alexander Gregg and Butler Roman who want to claim her as their mate, she balks.
Roman and Alexander are werewolves who mate as a triad. On the brink of letting their wolves take over, they are blessed when they find Nikki. Nikki though has enough walls around her that they are finding it hard to show her how much she means to them, they will cherish every minute thing about her and the visions they are having are showing her pregnant with their cubs. The love is there, but the trust is taking time to win over and the wolves are pushing to claim their mate.
There were aspects I really liked, but I found myself a bit confused by why Nikki is the way she is, you have snippets but not enough to really explain the self doubt. Nikki comes off as self confident and tough, but she kind of withers when it comes to her feelings with Alexander and Butler. It dragged a bit in some places, but otherwise the story had some refreshing ideas for menage shifter stories. A lot of characters introduced for more in the sequels, I would try another one in the series for sure.
This is a long novel. Not only do I not have a problem with the length, I would happily have continued reading if it had been even longer. Luckily for the reader, part of the shifter magic in Ms Bernard’s world, is the ability to experience visions of the future. These futures are not guaranteed. It is pointed out that the person having the vision can work to avoid it. However, Nikki, Alex, and Butler have visions of their !future together that lets us know the HEA is going to grow in happiness and joy for all of them. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys shifters, ménage relationships, strong heroines, loving and protective heroes, and a good story with an HEA. Plus, it has a lot of smexy scenes that are just plain yummy to read. Enjoy Please see my complete review on 9/23/12 at http://mrsconditreadsbooks.com/index....
Nikki is Laurie's best friend. She will protect Laurie with everything that she is. Hurt by Laurie's ex, she is brought back to the pack house by two hot shifters that happen to be her mates.
Alex and Butler are finding that controlling their wolves is getting harder and harder. They are fearful that they will have to give up their positions as enforcers for the back. Just about given up on finding their mate to ground them, she is there. Nikki calls to them like none ever have. When she is hurt on their watch, they are mortified. They become possessive and protective of Nikki.
Nikki has a love/hate relationship with their possessive and protective natures. I totally get that though. I don't want someone telling me what to do, but if it is the right man, I would love it. Nikki has many issues, but with Alex and Butler's help, she can get over it.
These first two books had good world-building, great editing and almost no mistakes. Makes it a joy to read when you aren't angry about the lack of proof-reading. :-)
I guess the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that, IMHO, there was a tad too much angst on Nikki's part (over and over with the same issues) and a few too many smex scenes. I started just skipping through the last few because it was repetitive (but sweet). I know some people like that non-stop, but from one book to the next, it's all the same stuff in general.
And when are Jace and Jackson going to do something about Randal?
As with the first book, Laurie's Loves, this book surpassed my expectations! I enjoyed reading Nikki's journey from being in an abusive relationship with her ex-husband and re-learning how to love again.
The journey that she went on was great and it brought a huge smile to my face when she finally realized that someone could love her for her, not for her money. It was awesome to watch Nikki realize that she will have her dreams of being a mother, and having someone love her for herself.
I also loved how Alex and Butler both were able to realize that they were also capable of having someone love them, even though at times they are overbearing!!
I have recommended this book to many of my friends.
Another wonderful book in this series.i love the way Nikki doesn't let Butler and Alex change her and yet she loves them with all her heart just so sweet.
I cannot wait to read the next book in this series and i hope we don't have to wait too long for it
This book was fantastic! It's one of my favourite menage books to date! What was not too love....NOT a single thing.I loved it from start to finish, I loved the fact that previous triads were mentioned and that they are starting to introduce ideas of new triads into the book which I see from the website will be up and coming stories, I cannot wait!!! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!!!
Omg I am so obsessed with this series!! I haven't read one like this in a long time!!!!! I love that there is some drama but not enough to take away from the romance!!!! This book of the two was my favorite!! The epilogue had me in tears... Wow I can't wait to read every book this author has to date and in the future!!! On to Susannah's Saviors which I know is going to be so emotional!!!!
Great second book in the pack series. At the start nikki did get on my nerves but once she excepted Alex and bulter as mates the story really picked up.Really liked the big family feel to the pack. Can wait for next story.
Really liked it. It was a fairly quick read, enjoyed the whole story and the characters....
If I had to give one negative it would be that the dialog between the guys was almost like listening to two women...not bad just...almost odd LOL. Good smut, good book :)
Excellent book. The love story was amazing. A little bit long and then it ends. I would have liked to have seen more in the end. Can't wait for the next one.
Nikki was a great character. I loved reading her story. Her back-story is even better. The drama from her past made it fun to root for her. It made me want a happy ending for her.
