All three books in the bestselling Ghost Files Series, including:

GHOST COLLEGE
by Scott Nicholson and J.R. Rain

First in a new series featuring paranormal investigators Ellen and Monty Drew. Ellen claims to possess a sixth sense but Monty, a former P.I., only believes what he can see. She views their work as a sacred mission while Monty just wants a happy wife and a paycheck.

In GHOST COLLEGE, the Drews are summoned to a Southern California bible college after workers report hearing mysterious voices at night. When they encounter the unhappy ghost of a young girl, Monty's skepticism is shaken, but he resolves to help his wife free the trapped spirit. Their search uncovers the Latin phrase "Non omnis moriar"—not all of me shall die—and they learn more about the site’s history as a Catholic school destroyed by an earthquake. But a mysterious presence has plans of its own for the young ghost, and Monty and Ellen must go head to head with a Dark Master that’s had more than a century of practice in demonic deeds. Now Monty must leave his body to do battle with the Dark Master, and he’s not sure Ellen will be able to bring him back in one piece. He’s not even sure what's happening is real. All he knows is that all hell is breaking loose and he's taking a crash course where an "F" means eternal damnation.

GHOST SOLDIER
by Evelyn Klebert

Paranormal investigators Ellen and Monty Drew's dream vacation to New Orleans is prematurely cut short when they are unexpectedly and reluctantly put to work on a case that may be beyond their talents. Called to arms by Monty's cousin Colonel, Monty and Ellen set out to clear a home on a military base of spirits that have been plaguing it with extreme paranormal phenomena. Both Ellen and Monty are drawn into a wild ghostly chase battling on both an earthly and metaphysical plane to reach the heart of the mystery before it's too late and it reaches a horrifying hand into their world.

GHOST FIRE
by Eve Paludan

Paranormal investigators Ellen and Monty Drew go to West Los Angeles for some rest and relaxation, as well as to shop for items to redecorate their home. But, apparently, there is to be no respite. Ellen is a ghost magnet, so they now have about 48 hours to solve a spontaneous combustion mystery in a haunted co-op art gallery before its grand opening in Venice, California. Spirits abound, including a flapper from the 1920s who haunts the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, the tormented ghost of a jockey, the spirit of a horse that shows up at a barbeque, the ghost of a former professor’s wife, the possession of a cab driver, an ex-nun who paints dead people she’s never met, and the accidental release of one ticked-off chupacabra spirit.

loved these stories

Great storyline and it is well written. The characters are well developed, and the story kept up a good pace. I like that it went from one book right into the next book and then into the third book. I would like to read more about those two characters.

Ridiculously bad writing. My high school students write better than this.

This was a nice collection of three different paranormal stories by different authors but about the same two main characters, Ellen and Monty. The idea behind that was really rather brilliant. It was a good part of wanting to read this boxed set; to see where each author would take the characters and to see if the authors could stay true to the characters throughout.

The first story was really good. I was glued to my Kindle like nobodies business. Walking around with the Kindle in my face, running into walls, tripping up and down the steps, you know the drill. It was fun getting to know the characters and finding out about the ghosties and things of that sort. I liked most of the investigation stuff, found some of it really very out there, but hey, why not! It was great fun. I enjoyed reading it.

When the second story rolled around, it was mostly good. There was a super smooth character move picking back up on the characters was easy and the flow kept on going. It got a bit weird for me though (I won't give a thing away here so if you read it, you'll know what I mean and if you don't you'll just never get it fully) when certain things became known and I lost quite a bit of interest in the ending bit but still was so drawn to the story due to how good the rest of it was, I had to keep going. I liked the very end after the solution to the paranormal bit, but... well, it's hard to say without saying so I'll leave it there!

Then there was the third story. I don't really like to say bad things about what I read so I'm not going to say too much but this story seemed more focused on the fact that Monty wanted to have sex with Ellen constantly every time he looked at her (and it was probably mentioned at least once per page or more) than storyline or paranormal activity. Parts of the story seemed like they were going in a good direction, but would fizzle rather quickly with a jealous or (excuse the choice or words here) horny Monty. The characters seemed off and the story sort of suffered. However, that being said, the author is an excellent writer and I'd like to read something other than an Ellen and Monty story written by her because this one was difficult since by the third story there was too much expectation as to how the reader was likely expecting the two to act and behave.

All in all, this was a good collection of paranormal stories and it was great fun getting to know Ellen and Monty.

Alright, so I thought this series is ok. The main character is a tough woman character which is nice. However, I don't think the writing is particularly strong and the characters can be a bit unidimensional. The ghost part is really interesting and overall I found these books entertaining and I binged on the series. In short, keep minimal expectations and it's a great beach read (or hotel in Juba, whatever the case may be).
