One More Day was a great start to the Alexanders series. I liked all the brothers, so I’ll definitely continue on. I didn’t love the heroines secrecy throughout the book, but aside from that it was great!

There were some very VERY uncomfortable moments in this book.
Little things,
I abandoned it at 92%. I simply couldn't stand it anymore. The characters were bland and two-dimensional and I simply couldn't give a damn about any of them.
INCOHERENCIA MODO ON.

My Review: I really enjoyed the prequel to the start of this series, Teasing Trent. I am now officially in love with the Alexander family and ready for all the rest of their stories. But this story was about Jackson, a widower who's been burned by love when his first wife died suddenly. And it's not that their relationship was so perfect, but that didn't change the emotional blow to him when she died leaving him to raise two young boys by himself. But what Jackson does have is a huge, rambling, loving family who help him with everything.
Ridley is the opposite. The only family that she's ever had who she could count on was her twin sister and supermodel, Raina. When everything in Ridley's life careens out of control, she runs to Raina for help, but Raina is out of the country on an important photo shoot, leaving Ridley locked out of her house and fearing for her life. When Raina's gorgeous neighbor thinks she's Raina in need, she accepts his help, although she feels awful about deceiving him. The problem is...someone is after Ridley and she has no idea who or why.
I'm a romantic suspense girl and this book wasn't huge on the suspense, although it's always playing in the back of the romantic story line. This one kept me guessing the whole time though and once it was all revealed, I was like "duh, the clues were all there", but Minx wove them really cleverly into the story so that you didn't realize they were there. Like I said, I had no idea what the catch was until it was revealed.
There was so much about this book that worked for me. First and foremost, I loved the romance between Jackson and Ridley. They had fabulous, explosive chemistry that most definitely worked in the bedroom, but it also really worked out of the bedroom too. Although the book covers a really short period of time, I was honestly surprised when that was pointed out because I felt like their connection was so much deeper than it would be during that time. It really felt believable and true. I loved that Jackson works and lives the music industry. When he sang his song to her, I honestly melted. So sweet and romantic. I loved that Ridley is a gardener and how she started delving into those dreams with Jackson. The two of them together made both of them so much better and stronger.
Then there is the Alexander family. *gah* I love them!! Mainly we got to see Nick and Elliott in this book. A lot of Nick. He has a really intriguing history with Raina which has obviously left them both with scars. I'm really hoping that we get to see a whole lot more of them together soon. There's so much that book needs to delve into...I think her over-protective body guard, Sam, will come into play. And I'm hoping that the revelations about her father come into play too.
Overall, it was just a really good book, centered around an amazing family. I cannot wait to read more from this series!

3.5 stars. I'm not gonna lie I did not like Chapter 1 of this book. Generally I don't like third person narrative and I really didn't like it in this book's first chapter. I was confused as hell on who was who. But once my confusion was cleared up I really got into it. I like alternating views, it gives me more info and I like that. There wasn't enough detail about Ridley so honestly I have no idea what her or Raina look like and she really wasn't anything special as far as a literary character goes. Jackson interested me and he pulled me deeper into the plot. I didn't get overly emotionally invested but I wasn't bored either. It was just neutral. I have to say I liked the story as a whole. It was creative and I liked the twist. But what I didn't like was the big moment where it all came into clear view or the moments leading up to it. The whole book was spaced good and accordingly and it flowed well. Then all of a sudden bam he thinks she did something and then bam plot twist is revealed (sort of). It doesn't take long for it to come to a conclusion and I was really confused during their argument when he was accusing her. I was like wait what's going on? It was a real head scratcher. And then by the time I figured out what was going on, I didn't have any time to be pissed or in pain from Jackson's actions because we moved on too quickly. And then once everything is said and done it just ends. I wanted more! An epilogue would have been nice. But for the majority of the book I did like the pace that was set and also the interactions between all the characters. It was really good but I seen a lot more potential. Some authors can pull off the third person POV. I just don't think it worked in this book.
ARC copy provided by Netgalley for an honest review...... Short version - I loved this good and now I want the whole series!! Ridley and Raine are twin sister that grew up with a single mom (never knew their dad) and moved around a lot as kids. Raine decided that she was going to pursue a modeling career and made a huge name for herself and Ridley decided she was going to focus on school. After their mom dies, Ridley decides to hire a private investigator to find their dad when things blow up. She witnesses the car accident that kills the PI, someone's broken into her apartment and the police has brought the FBI into investigation because their are ties to organized crime. Ridley runs to her sisters to wait for this to blow over, but finds out that her sister isn't home and the security code has been changed. She ends up passed out from exhaustion and lack of proper nutrition at the back of her sisters house and wakes up to find the super hot neighbor, Jackson Alexander, and sever of his friends/family trying to help. Plus they all think she's Raina. Deciding to go along with it, she pretends to be Raina and she tells Jackson that she's locked out of her house. He invites her to his house and offers his guest bedroom while they wait for a locksmith. Something neither of them expect is the smokin hot chemistry between them. This is especially strange since Jackson never felt this with Raina before. Jackson's a widower with 2 adorable boys, but he failed 1 marriage and won't do it again. He can't ignore the chemistry between him and Ridley though. Ridley fesses up about the accident and tells Jack that her real name is Ridley - not the truth - just that Raina is a stage name. That's all fine and well. When she finally gets in touch with her sister, though, she refuses to tell Ridley the pass code bc she thinks the situation is dangerous and the bad guys will probably look for her at Raina's. Enter Nick, Jacks brother that totally distrusts the situation with Raina/Ridley and he starts investigating to prove this is all a sham. The Feds think Ridley's involved with the crime lords, she's falling for Jackson and things are swirling out of control.
This boom was fantastic. Jack was super swoon worthy especially when he sang to her and it was perfectly worded especially after you hear the story about his parents. It was sweet, and heartfelt and I got teary-eyed a couple times. It was also hot and I can't wait to read about Nick and Raina!!!!!
Ok officially Jackson is my favorite!!! Trent and Mara's story was good but I don't think anyone will steal my heart like Jackson and Ridley. Except for maybe Matt...this book should definetly be on your to read list
I read Tank before I read the Alexander Series so I thought that I would back track. The series doesn't have to necessarily be read but as the characters turn up in the blue collar millionaire series I wanted to read them. Boy am I glad that I did. 4 One more Days.
Ridley is in trouble and the only person she can think of to help her and to lay low is her twin sister Raina unfortunately Raina is out of country due to her modeling. Ridley hired a PI to look for her father but she has gotten into something she can't get out of. When Ridley sees the PI die in a car crash, she runs as she thinks that it has to do with the Moreno's in Miami. She faints in the brooke and is rescued by Jackson Alexanders kids. I'm a sucker for a man with kids. So as Jackson doesn't really know Raina that well Ridley lets Jackson, his brother Nick, Matt and Trent assume that she is Raina and that she has locked herself out of her house. Ridley doesn't exactly look like a model but whats a girl to do?
Jackson who is a music producer and a widower feels instantly attracted to Ridley well in this case Raina which he doesn't quite get as he wasn't really attracted to Raina. Jackson blames himself for the death of his wife and doesn't want to fall in love again. Ha, good luck with that. Jackson offers Raina/Ridley a place to stay so they get to know one another yaddy yaddy ya and they think that they can get their attraction out of their system. Ha, good luck with that as well.
So Nick is git and that is being nice. He is a player and he spent a night with Raina that they both can't forget. Nick is bitter and crusade to prove her Raina/Ridley is truely like well that is until Jackson catches him kissing Raina and flips until Ridley finally admits that they are twins. Ms. Malone introduces all the characters that will get a book in this series and I can't wait to read them.
The first book in The Alexanders series, One More Day, is a great mix of romance and suspense with a dash of down home southern hospitality thrown in. Actually after reading this I wanted to be adopted by the Alexanders and go out and live with them on their farm. The warmth and sincere generosity of a family who cares enveloped both the heroine Ridley and the reader.
I have to say that I knew once I began reading One More Day that I had made the right decision to get the rest of the series as these characters quickly came to life on the page. Ridley, who might look like her twin, the SI swimsuit model Raina, confuses everyone by her down-to-earth way of looking at things, but she successfully pulls off her identity switch as she hides out with record producer (and super hottie) Jackson.
Not knowing who's after her, but with the possibility it might be her long-lost father (a mafia don according to the FBI), Ridley finds it hard to trust anyone. But the heat between Jackson and Ridley soon burns through her mistrust and the pages begin to steam. Along the way, Malone weaves in quite a few subplots and I began to really want to know what was up with Raina and Jackson's brother Nick, a financial maven. I was happy to see more of Mara and Trent and also learn a little more about the other Alexander brothers, Elliot, who owns a security firm and horticulturalist Bennett, who lives on the farm with his parents. And I wanted to give a great big hug to Jackson's two sons, particularly the one who loves spiders.
I won't give the plot away, but be prepared to laugh a lot, fan your face during some steamy scenes, and just in general enjoy a really great read.
4.5 Oh Ridley and Jackson! I just love the Alexander family. Love how tight knit they are. This starts off with Ridley on the run and goes to her twin sister house to hide out. But when she gets there she is locked out and due to , to much travel and little sleep and food she faints and is found by Jackson's children. Jackson who is Ridleys sisters neighbor and hottie bachelor comes to her aid and offers her a place to stay until they get a locksmith to let her in. Funny thing is that Jackson thinks she is Riana and Ridley figures its safer to hide openly as her sister than to admit that who she really is.
Jackson is a widow and single father of two little boys and isn't looking for love. He figures he had it once it he will never have it again. But sparks fly between Jackson and Ridley. I just loved Jackson. In fact I fell for all the Alexander brothers. But my favorite is Eli. I need his book.
This was an easy read, I had a hard time putting it down. It was sweet and it was sexy. There was drama at the end and there was mystery too. Of course it wasn't all that hard to figure out who done what and why. But for me that didn't take anything away from the story because I just loved it.
I had high hopes for this book, the first in a series, from the summary. I haven’t read many, if any, rockstar books so I went into this one with certain expectations. Sadly, they weren’t quite fulfilled. Not completely anyway.
I have to admit, most of my problems stemmed from the characters of Ridley and Jackson. Let’s start with our hero…
From the get go it’s obvious that he’s a doting dad to his two young sons and a serious songwriter/producer. When we read his POV, it’s very clear he’s not after a serious relationship after the passing of his wife, the mother of his boys. And let’s be real, who could blame him? Yet… I expected more music to be interwoven into the story be it performances or jamming sessions. If he’s such a serious musician, he’s very 9-5 about it which just struck me as odd, almost as if he’s a session or jobbing musician in between work. Having said that, he is very much book boyfriend material.
Ridley… well. I have to admit she was the more irritating of the two. I’m sorry, if someone mistook me for someone else the way Jackson does, I wouldn’t go along with it. I would put them straight with a simple explanation – regardless of how ill or scared I was feeling at the time. It just really grated on me as she lied to everyone. Jackson’s acceptance of her really confused me too. I get that he’s not a cynical man, but to introduce an almost stranger to your family the way he did baffled me. I have a large family, and we welcome near enough everyone, but that just didn’t ring true – especially the way Ridley’s inconsistent with some of the things she tells him about herself – or he believes her to be. For example – she’s staying at his house because she’s locked out, yet once she comes clean about her identity, she’s back and forth to Raina’s house for clothes – It felt weird.
It took her over half the book for her to come clean. Once that happened, the book improved for me.
29% into the book, Ridley is lusting after Jackson. I understand insta-attraction, but this felt a little too serious and edging into the insta-love territory which is something I can’t stand in books. Thankfully, this didn’t happen, yet there was a lot of longing on both sides after they first have sex which got frustrating after a while.
The first chapter where Ridley and Jackson head out to the industry meal together is quite possibly my favourite in the book. The entire thing felt natural and really allowed the characters to get to know each other beyond the misunderstanding a lies, and away from Jackson’s house. It could quite easily have been a midpoint chapter in any other romance book.
The mystery side to the story was far too spaced out in the first 2/3 of the book. I wanted to know/read more about the mystery man who followed Ridley to build up to the big reveal which felt a little anti climactic because I’d almost forgotten about him. The big ‘action scene’ was well written and well paced, but felt too pivotal for the build up. It was almost as if everything else in the story was mere filler for this one moment.
The second half of this book was much better and more engaging, but sadly not enough to make me want to read more of the series. I’m just not interested in learning more about the other characters in the Alexander family.
On the whole, it wasn’t a bad book, but could have been so much better. I don’t quite understand how this series is a best-selling one, but that’s just my opinion. I guess it appeals to the masses. I’m glad it was a free download!
I read a lot of books, and this book was a treasure to find, and read. It will go onto my list of favorite's. Jackson, and his brother's grew up with parents that really loved one another. Julia and her husband was able to give her sons a glimpse at what true love looked like each and every day. The plot had suspense, action, flirting, and love. It also had strong family bonds that you could feel within the pages of this book. It also had two cute little boys that loved spiders. They thought it was fun to put spiders on the babysitter. Poor Jackson could not keep babysitters for his sons. Ridley was being stocked, and she knew she had to leave Florida. The only place she had to go to get away from the danger was to her twin sister's house. Her twin was out of the country on a photo shoot. Raina was a professional model. After days of traveling, Ridley was tired, and hungry, and in desperate need of a shower. After she couldn't get the security code to work so she could get into her sister house, she fainted in her sister's yard. That is how she meet two cute boys, and her sister's hot neighbor Jackson. Ridley woke up to everyone thinking she was her sister. It would have been easy to correct them, but what better way to stay safe from a stalker, than to disappear? I loved how Jackson and Ridley became friends, and how their relationship grew throughout the story. Jackson was a broken man. His first wife died, and he blamed himself for her death. Ridley was into some deep trouble from trusting the wrong people. Can the couple find the kind of love Jackson's parents has, and stay alive to make memories to cherish? You will just have to read to find out.
I'm going to give you a sample of my favorite part of the book. Sample from chapter 9 - She stopped as everyone broke into applause. Ridley clapped along with everyone else. She couldn't even imagine spending thirty years with someone. They'd been together longer than she'd been alive. "And the most important thing I've learned from these thirty years is to take each day as it comes and cherish it." "I asked her that one day," Jackson whispered in her ear. "What? You asked her about being married?" "No, I asked her how she knew my dad was the one. She's always said you're with the right person when no matter how bad things get, you'd still rather be with them than anywhere else. She always says that no matter how long she and my dad are together, she still wants more time with him. She wants one more day. Every day."
Enjoyable and entertaining. I really liked it. (audible whispersync review)
I really did enjoy this story a lot. It was a fun read/listen. I liked the heroine, Ridley a lot. She was sweet and just perfect for our hero Jackson.
The chemistry between them was very good. It was real and genuine, not forced and they didn't jump in to bed the minute they met each other. YAY for that. They got to know each other and the attraction grew. There is a couple of sex scenes in this book but it is NOT erotica. It's a little hot and steamy but not over the top at all. (I read some reviews that said this book was all about the sex and it was erotica. This is not true. Just want to clear that up for anyone wondering).
The story line and plot was great. There was a little mystery thrown in. Lots and lots of dialogue, great dialogue. The story flowed very nicely and was easy to follow along. Love all the secondary characters and am looking forward to the next book.
As for the narration, I thought Eva Kaminsky did a very good job. She has a very nice reading voice, I think she did a decent job on the men's voices (she could make them a little deeper and it would be even better). Pretty much everyone had their own distinct voice. All in all she did a really good job.
Also, I got this book back in February when it was free on amazon and then recently saw it was on audible and got that for 1.99. So this was really a great deal.
BK#1 WAS A TOTAL SURPRISE IT DID NOT PICK UP WHERE "TEASING TRENT" LEFT OFF. AT FIRST I THOUGHT WTF, BUT I CONTINUED ON. THIS SHOWCASES JACKSON ALEXANDER AND RIDLEY (another twin hummm!) AT LEAST WE MET JACKSON IN THE FIRST BOOK. I THINK I'M GONNA NEED A SCORE CARD TO KEEP UP WITH ALL THESE CHARACTERS (grrrrrr!). I STARTED LIKING THE STORYLINE IN THIS RIGHT AWAY, INTERESTING. VERY SEXXY, ANGSTY, WITH A WHO'S BABY ARE YOU KINDA PLOT & A MURDER TOO. WOW! I LOVE THE DIALOG BETWEEN ALL THE CHARACTERS, SO REAL, THE BIG FAMILY PLUS A LOT OF FRIENDS AT A BACKYARD HOLIDAY PICNIC WAS SO FUNNY. THERE IS A LITTLE APPREARENCE OF TRENT & MARA SHOWING WHERE THEIR RELATIONSHIP HAS PROGRESSED TO. THIS IS NOT A VERY LONG READ, OFF TO THE NEXT ONE. THIS TIME I WON'T BE EXPECTING THE STORY TO PICK UP WHERE THE LAST BOOK ENDED. THIS READS LIKE A GOOD OLD FASHION SOAP OPERA. I FEEL LIKE I'VE SLIPPED BACK IN TIME WHEN I WAS REALLY HOOKED ON: Y&R-B&B-OLTL. I'M LOL! ;D
I've read and enjoyed one other book in this series. So I was keen to read more. This time it's Ridley Wells and Jackson Alexander.
Ridley's friend has been murdered and then her home was vandalised, so she heads to where she will feel safer. At her twin Raina's home. She's a supermodel but she's out of town. So when Ridley gets mistaken for her sister. She realises where better to hide but right under everybody's noses.
The suspense part of this story was very cleverly done and worked well alongside the romance between Jackson and Ridley. Of course pretending to be someone else has its own problems. I really enjoyed this addition to this series. I have only one reservation in that this book was a tad too long. But overall another enjoyable read. ARC courtesy of NetGalley
If you're looking for a romantic and easy read, this one's is for you. I loved and enjoyed it so much I'm really surprised I didn't discover this series until now.
The chemistry between Jackson and Ridley is so hot especially in the bedroom :) The twist and turns and the little suspense added to the story makes it even more interesting. I so love love to belong to the Alexander family, they are the kind of people anyone wants to have as family and friends. And oh, the scrumptious sexy Alexander brothers are all a dream, I'm so excited to get all the books that features all of them.
omg! loved this book...had me in tears of all kinds...had me in laughter of all kinds! Jackson is ... wow! and so are the rest of the Alexander clan :D
can't wait for the second one that comes out this year right?..... anyway loved the plot...the characters .... I SERIOUSLY !COULD NOT! PUT THIS BOOK DOWN .... TEACHERS IN SCHOOL WENT AS FAR TO THREATEN TO TAKE AWAY MY KINDLE IF DIDN'T BUT IT DOWN HAHAHA !!!
I fell in love with Ridley. A woman with a past full of let downs grew into a woman with a kin, tender heart. Her ease with people seems out of character for someone raised like she was. She finds her way into Jackson's heart despite the fact that he closed it long ago. I enjoyed the mystery that unfolds and sat at the edge if my seat to see if they could work through it all. I can't wait to read Raina's story.
An awesome story by a new-to-me author. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series. One More Day is the perfect name for this emotionally intense, suspenseful and sometimes funny story. I love it when an author has me laughing, crying and spitting mad all in the same book. It's rare and I swear at times M. Malone had me doing all three in one chapter.
Okay. I enjoyed it. But the first half went so slow and was not enjoyable but the last have I read in a day and I we hooked lol. I probably would have loved this the whole way through a few years ago. It’s giving Colleen hoover. So if that’s your vibe then you’ll love it. There was a couple unexpected turns that which I enjoyed too x
Right. You know when a book is trying really hard to be cute, relatable, etc, etc? And then since it’s trying so hard, it just completely kind of ruins it all? Yeah, I got that with this one. It has so much potential!! The whole mystery part was a great idea, but so badly done. The whole romance was so fast paced! Like, damn, wait a second and actually think before you do stuff! It wasn’t great, but I have read so much worse. At the end of the day, this was just okay.
