This is a contemporary romance, a mystery, a quirky tale of life and the things people do for love, erotic but character driven. It is for 18+ only and contains explicit sex in the love scenes. Romance for men and for women in this story told about the brothers and their love lives.
Two brothers alike in a crucial way and not alike at all in others, both looking for love. Named after characters in one of their grandfather’s gritty spy novels, Jet and Falcon wonder if their often absent father is a spy. Kind hearted Jet feels trapped in a job he doesn’t like. Dynamic, creative Falcon loves his work.
Jet longs for something different in his life. When he meets Emma, he thinks that after their night of delightful lovemaking he has found it. He longs to see her after that night. Does she feel the same?
Jet begins to change his life, but it’s worrying and time consuming. His luck is about to change when Annabel kisses him in the local pub garden. Her sexual advances at first shock Jet until he lets himself relax into her passionate ways.
Jet has inherited a cottage from his grandfather, and as he clears out the garden shed what he finds there turns his ideas about his own family upside down. Jet along with his brother Falcon decide to find out the secrets that have been hidden from them. Was their father a spy after all? As Jet and Falcon start to unravel the secret life of their father, they realize that love is more important to them than they could have imagined, and Falcon finds what he wants.
I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
Jet and Falcon are identical twins. However, they both have slightly different temperaments and outlooks on life. I liked them both, but struggled to connect to them. They were somewhat one dimensional and didn't come across as believable as I would have liked.
This is a very difficult review to write, as this is my first DNF (did not finish) book ever since I began writing reviews. Having previously read one of the author's other books, Millie Reinvented, I had been looking forward to reading this one. However, I found myself disappointed. The characters were wooden, the dialogue clunky and the slow flow had me wanting to pull my hair out. I managed to get through 51% of the book (where nothing much had even happened) before calling it a night. I was getting headaches from the author's essay type writing style; I prefer that the characters tell the story but, the author wrote it as if she was narrating it. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I found this to be a little off putting. This affected the flow in my opinion and gave it a rather jerky feel. Other readers may have a different opinion, so I will leave it to you to decide for yourselves. The author does use wonderful descriptive prose, which helped me picture the scenes quite clearly. However, I have decided that this book was just not my cup of tea.
Elodie Parkes has written a story that could have been a lot better if she had changed the story into either first or third person narrative, rather than second person. However, although I wasn't very enamoured with this book, I would consider reading her other books in the future.
As I did not finish this book, I cannot say whether or not there were any explicit scenes in it. However, as I have read one of her other books that did contain some, I do not recommend this book to younger readers. I do recommend this book if you love steamy contemporary romances. - Lynn Worton
This is the second book I have read by this author and it certainly didn't disappoint. Romance and erotica aren't generally the first categories I tend to turn to when I go for a book to read but I will give anything a shot and having read another by this author, I had a good feeling that this one would be well worth the read as well, and it was! It will most certainly satisfy those looking for the romance/erotica in a book, but it also has a great storyline and plot to go with it. One thing that I really find myself liking the most about this author is that her writing really has a lot of emotion behind it and that emotion comes through beautifully on the pages. Her stories aren't just fluff with no substance, they are filled with emotion, and I love that!
The author has a way with words and this book manages to tell a story that takes many twists and turns taking the reader on an adventure filled with mystery, romance, conflict, secrets, and so much more. I don't want to give away the story (you have to read it for yourself to find out what happens) but I will say that it has twin brothers , mistaken identities, Australia trips, and a lot of sexual encounters (plus so much more that I'm just not going to tell you about no matter what)!
This book didn't take very long to read and it was well worth what time it did take. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.
This is a heartwarming, emotional story about two brothers and their loves. Early on, I debated whether or not I would review it because it's one of Ms. Parkes early works and that shows, mainly in the head hopping. By the half way point I was leaning toward reviewing, and as I was nearing the end I realized that I had no choice. The story had won me over completely. The characters are interesting. The love scenes are hot and well done. In the beginning I thought I knew what the title referred to, but I was wrong. No spoilers, but there's an unusual twist I did not anticipate and that's what sealed the deal for me. I rate books based on how the story makes me feel and by the end of the last page I was wearing a Five Star grin. Well done Ms. Parkes!
Another delightful read from Elodie Parkes. Jet and Falcon (awesome names) are twin brothers who have a deep family secret that they uncover. While they are doing that, they have their share of love encounters. Being twins, there is a case of mistaken identity and one of the twins takes advantage of the situation. To know more, you have to read the book of course. J Beautifully told and an enjoyable read. Lots of steamy scenes to get you worked up, lots of lies to keep you intrigued, lots of twists which makes it a five star read. Looking forwards to reading more from this talented author.
Two of Them" is a tale of twin brothers Jet and Falcon who in their journey to find love also uncover deep, dark secrets of their own family.
"Two of Them" is an enticing adult tale of sex and lies that would have you engrossed till the very end. It's one of those short tales that you would love to take to bed for an easy and lazy read. A must for those who love a sexy bedtime story. Parkes certainly perks it up with a twist and will have you wanting for more by the end of it.
As with Ms. Parkes stories there are steamy sex scenes involved with a character diven story. That's a plus :)
With this story she has included sex, lies, secrets and twists involving twin brothers. And that's what has set this story apart from many others that I have recently read. It has been told from the males perspective rather than the usual female which can sometimes leave you feeling that it is predictable. This story is not. Great read for anyone over 18 who enjoys a hot sexy romance.
Full of love, sex and mystery, this contemporary romance might be a quick read but will definitely scratch an itch. Full of secrets and suspense, the twists will keep you entertained. Well written, the story flows nicely and makes for an easy bedtime read.
I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
