About the author

Annabelle Kitch used to think she was a normal girl. Then she found out ‘normal’ was a lie, threw her pretenses to the wind, and went streaking through life wearing the proud banner of ‘odd’. One of the only constants in this life was an unrelenting passion for storytelling, and she’s traveled the world (or worlds, if you count the ones in her head) in pursuit of this. As an avid fan of, well, everything, she naturally stumbled upon fanfiction. Therein she came upon slash and, after initially resisting, ultimately said ‘why not’. Depending on your point of view, it was all downhill or uphill from there.

These days, Annabelle works a desk job, which is a pretty good cover for the nonsense that goes on in her head. Pretty soon, she’s going to strike it big, but for now the writing of passionate fiction will be relegated to evenings and weekends. And lunch breaks. And times when the work is slow and there’s nobody looking at her monitor.

A good story about half-demon psychic, who befriends and rooms with a young man whose class of species is unknown. They quickly develop a relationship that unspoken by both goes a bit beyond friendship. Then it's discovered before a huge life threatening mission what the young man is and everything changes for them.

An enjoyable read. I did wish it was a tad bit longer for character and world development. The characters were likable and the story was enthralling.

Like few other The Bestiary stories I read previously, my issue with them was the lack of world building info. Like I was shuffled into the middle of a story without proper background. However, the story itself was nice. It's the angel falling with half-demon plot -- and I always have soft heart for that.

Okay, this was short and cute. Too bad we weren't shown the part where Eli and Jake were learning to live together and started falling in love, I would have love to read that. This way, it felt too short. But overall, I enjoyed reading this story.
