❗SPOILERS❗

World Building:
The book starts with a flashback. The author does a great job setting up the book. Sam (fmc) lives with her mother in Colorado. She gets a visit from some sketchy guys who let her know her mother is a liar. Sam has a twin brother and a father who is dying. She confronts her mother and books a flight to Boston. Where she encounters more danger and FBI agent Nate McLean (mmc). What ensues is a constant stream of attacks and lies. Sam doesn't know who to trust.

Character Development:
This book was plot focused. Sam's life does a whole 180, after learning about her dangerous father. She is put through the ringer, and she stands tall at the end. Nate instantly drops his revenge against the Merritta family in order to save Sam. He falls quick and hard. They develop a sincere love between them, one rooted in trust.

Character Relationships:
All previous relationships change in this book. Sam doesn't see her mother the same. She thought she knew her mother well, and Sam was wrong. Sam builds a relationship with her long lost twin brother. The friendship between her and her best friend is put to the test. Most important is her relationship with Nate. He went after her in the beginning in order to use her against her family. They had an instant attraction which blossomed. There is some spice in this book.

Memorability:
I heavily enjoyed this novel! I was pulled in instantly. I'm a fan of fast paced novels that are easy to follow. I def recommend this thriller!

Samantha Carroll receives a very unexpected visit from two very menacing men. They insist her real father wasn't the man she thought him to be, but instead is crime boss Nicholas Meritta who is dying and after 34 years wants to see her. Not only that, but she has a twin brother that she didn't know existed. After confronting her mother she learns all of this is true. Samantha decides to meet her brother and her biological father against her mother's better judgement. Enter Agent Nathan McLean, and let the fun begin.

This novel is fast paced, and will have no trouble keeping your attention. There is of course a whirl-wind romance as is Ms. Potter's trade mark. I am usually a big fan of her historical romances, but wasn't disappointed on reading this novel. Twisted Shadows shows all of the talent Ms. Potter has.

Good story and suspense. The romance was okay. Nate went from using her to loving her pretty quickly. Nice wrap up at the end.

It was good. I do think it was really drawn out and shouldn’t have been such a long book.

I really liked this book, another reco from Gram. I got about 25 pages in and realized I read it previously. But, I still reread it. Pretty good and it had my prerequisite FBI agent or detective. All good.
