Love Intertwined Vol.1

Rate this book
Pepper Pace has created a collection of romance stories that shows the sweeter side of eroticism.

Someone to Love
"God, I'm happy she's gone," one of Jill's friends said. "Yeah, looking at her face makes me sick to my stomach." Words like those have followed Raina every since she was a child and half of her face was destroyed by a tragic fire. Once upon a time, she was one of the ‘beautiful ones’ with her hazel eyes, light brown skin and long flowing hair. But now, Raina only watches the world around her. Too ashamed of her looks to actually interact, she finds joy in following Bill with her eyes. With her head down and her hair obscuring her scars she manages to get by.

Bill doesn’t like anyone and has little patience for Jill’s flirtations. He has been described as looking like Brad Pitt on crack—and it’s not very far from the truth. The only thing that matters is getting through the work day so that he can get high. But one day he literally crashes into Raina and for the first time in either of their lives they allow themselves to actually be ‘seen’.

The Way Home
Jamie thinks too hard, reads too much and doesn’t much care for her looks. At fourteen, she knows that she’s never had a real childhood. When her mother died she was the one that had to step up to the plate and run the household—and for the most part she doesn’t mind at all. And then one day she sees a white boy coming from the woods who was dirty, hungry and obviously uncared for but with eyes so lost that despite her normal shyness she offers to help him. As they come to terms with the fact that their lives transcends the ‘norm’, Kenny and Jamie’s relationship reaches heights that they could have never imagined, and lows that their love may not survive.

Baby Girl and the Mean Boss
Nicole wasn’t sure why she had gotten the nick name Baby Girl when she was not-by far-the youngest employee of The Down Home Calabash. Her much younger co-worker complained, gossiped or talked about how attractive their boss was. But Nicole didn’t have the luxury of a fantasy existence. She was on a mission to make money and to get her degree and her plans most definitely did not include Marty. Besides he was mean and he yelled at her!

But once she experiences a tragic accident, Nicole sees a different side of her sexy, boss. But each has their own secrets and if they can’t express their heartfelt emotions their relationship might be doomed even before it begins.

Who is Pepper Pace?

Pepper Pace is the pen name used by the author. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she has always enjoyed creativity. At a very young age, Pepper had a gift for art and would spend most of her spare time drawing images that she later began adding stories behind. Soon writing became more important than the illustrations and though she still loved art, it took a back seat to her real love.

Pepper wrote her first novel when she was 12 years old and had written 2 more by the age of 18. Too shy to share her work with anyone, Pepper stock piled her many stories into notebooks until she came upon Literotica.com and was compelled to share her craft.

Pepper became instantly popular and won several awards each year in which she submitted a story to the site. After receiving popular feedback, she grew in confidence and created a popular blog entitled Writing Feedback where she encourages her readers to interact with her on topics concerning, music, writing, art and pop culture, and can be contacted at her blog:

Pepper lives in Cincinnati where many of her characters also reside.

Someone to Love: 4 Stars

This was the shortest of the 3 stories. Still sweet, a little bit sexy & completely not the norm. Definitely anti hero & heroine. But interesting, entertaining, & heart warming all the same.

The Way Home: 4.5 stars

This second story is a bit longer. A bit more fleshed out plot with the characters & their circumstances. Endearing & heart warming. A tale of unlikely young love, blossoming into a deep, remarkable and enduring love that lasts. Showing that when it's real, absence really does make the heart grow fonder.

Baby Girl and the Mean Boss: 5 stars

Don't let the title fool you. This one is by far the best story of the 3. Not only is it the longest out of the 3, but it has the best fleshed out plot, journey & well developed characters.
I immediately fell in love with the couple here. And I was sucked into the mystery surrounding their circumstances. And when all is revealed, it certainly does not disappoint. This one is white hot with the emotional & physical intensity.

Very well done on all 3, Ms. Pace

I would recommend this Volume 1 edition. It's certainly worth the 3 in one. You get a better deal with this one than if you were to buy these stories separately.

Now if only I could get Volume 2, in Kindle format as well.

This review is for The Way Home only.

I have to say that this was so beautifully heartbreaking. I love that Jaime could see Kenny at his worse with no options and still she loved him. I love how Kenny saw all Jaime was and accepted the friendship without taking more or asking for than she offered.

Although the separation wasnt ideal but I understood both their sides. They needed time to grow alone and when theyncame back together they were better for, to and about each other.

As always, Pepper shows love is easy...we humans make it hard.

Pace has a way of taking hard topics and creating beautiful masterpieces despite the ugly tragedies. I enjoyed all of the stories, but I think they got progressively better. My favorite is the last story. To be a short read, it holds so much depth. I look forward to more good works from this author.
